I just don't know a way to buy songs online anymore, and buying the physical albums is getting too expensive for me. And no I'm not going to leech :S

Oh and I don't really listen to SEB that often because I only like it because of GGM, SCP and Dima's songs.
Arguing semantics is a really silly way of brushing around the issue. We're all relatively anonymous here, so it's okay to admit that you're breaking copyright law because you don't think it a just or fair law. I think just about everyone here wouldn't have gotten into a genre as bizarre as eurobeat if they didn't have a free taste.

WTF... An entire Virginelle collection and they f***ing missed off Brother & Sister!!! There is no justice!!! :(

... sigh ...

Nonetheless, we get:

Go Go Girls
2. ELECTRIC WOMAN (Megamix only)
3. STUFF LIKE THAT (Megamix only)
6. DO YOU WANNA DANCE (Euromach)
10. THE BEAT OF THE DANCE (Euromach)

Norma Sheffield
6. WAITING FOR YOU (Euromach)
8. LITTLE CRAZY BABY (Euromach)
11. WANNA FEEL YOU (Euromach)

Groove Twins
2. I'M THE QUEEN OF THE NIGHT (Unreleased!)
4. DANCE ON SATURDAY NIGHT (Euromach)

BUT, of course, it remains to be seen if these make it to outside Japan, given iTunes' Western 256kbps-non-DRM-only policy now.

Potent artist choices, disappointing selections.

No Brother & Sister = EPIC FAIL.

At least the second GGG compilation has Do You Wanna Dance.

Considering AVEX couldn't wait to just rip down those other artist albums one month ago or so from the iTunes Western Stores, I'm placing my bet and say they'll never make it outside of Japan. Not anytime soon, at least.

Doesn't bother me much seeing as there's only two songs that interest me from the whole lot.

If it was due to the DRM-free policy, that was Apple, not Avex who took them down. And those weren't the only albums that got pulled after the switch.
Well, Dave Rodgers' pop/rock album Blow Your Mind is back up now.

Yeah, I'm inclined to agree with this. I think Apple notified all music companies that they were switching to iTunes Plus-only after 1st April (which was in keeping with what they promised their users back in January). Any label that failed to re-upload their songs in 256kbps would be deleted. I saw quite a few songs I'd previously purchased get re-uploaded in higher quality during that time (including some Hi-NRG Attack stuff), but never the Avex stuff.

Obviously this policy was never applied to iTunes Japan, I guess because too many of the big labels (Avex included) hadn't yet agreed to go DRM-free as all the Western ones did. Therefore Avex decided to ignore the switch because their market is primarily Japan.

That doesn't prohibit them from re-uploading in DRM-free in the future, of course, just that right now, with their heavy anti-piracy stance, it seems unlikely.

I get a real sense of deja vu from Avex's actions over piracy. Haven't we been through all this paranoia with the Western labels before? :???: And is Avex so naive that they just ignore that the rest of the world (including the 4 giant labels) saying that DRM simply doesn't work!

Ignore the switch? The thing is, those Special Collections were meant to be international. I still hold out hope they will return in DRM-free form, sometimes it takes time.

I can imagine eventually even the Japanes iTunes will go the Plus-only route (if Apple have anything to say about it), so finally maybe Avex will play ball! ;)
