great review! I'm glad you gave praise were praise is due. Superknife is probobly one of the best HRG Attack productions ever. I've been praising this song for a few years back now, so I'm glad others can finally be witness to this Masterpiece. 8)

For those of you who purchase Hi-NRG Attack's oldest releases on iTunes, when they were still released at DRM-encrypted 128kbps - you can now upgrade them to DRM-free 256kbps. Just did this for Ganguro ParaPara Superstars! Whoo! :)

Hahaha, nice! Anthem / Nick Turbo and Stucka / Franz Tornado & The Bombardier Girls (lol, another song under that alias) are definitely brand new, like the Pistol Girl songs from SEB, so I've got my hopes set quite high for both tracks. The release of Hot Dog and Lanceloto Play My Koto furthermore excite me quite a bit!

First time in a while that the cover art is actually pretty impressive, too (the last time it was good was The Trailblazers; PPC5 wasn't bad but it was rehashed). The choice of fonts for "anthems" is a bit erratic, but overal the picture looks really nice, aesthetic, and colorful.

I dunno, I quite like the idea of grafting katakana into latin letters. Has a cheesy Engrish feel about it!

Chicken Boy / Nikita Jr. is easily the surprise hit of this compilation for me. The melodic progression stands out as by far the most unique of the bunch, and I love the minimalistically charming synthline. I also like Hot Dog / Bazooka Girl, Get My Crazy Cat / Ely Kotero, Anthem / Nick Turbo, and Wroom Wroom Supercar / Black Eva. Props to the inclusion of Si La Do, too - that track sounds like quite a treat for me and I'm really glad that I'll still be able to purchase it even though I didn't bother to check out SEB 194.

I'm a little disappointed by Federico Rimonti's new songs, though. Pet-O-Man has potential, but the chorus is just really lazy (much like Fire To The Eurobeat) and the verse is lyrically a bit too been-there-done-that for me. Lanceloto Play My Koto is on its way to being awesome, but it's melodically a bit too hollow, and Stuka simply doesn't offer the same level of excitement that Bomba did before it. Could grow on me, though.

Overall, this sounds like a fairly good compilation, but it still falls short of The Speed & The Furious and The Trailblazers.

Another Black Eva racing song, huh? Could have been on Speed & Furious.
Mad Dog = aka Mad Cow '09
Get My Crazy Cat = Laura T. using the Ely Kotero name?

Stuka! Stuka! Suka Bazooka! :D

Not like that at all, but it isn't as mega as the previous entries.

1.Nick Turbo Music Machine - "Anthem" (extended)
A good way to start off the compilation with Eurobeat as an Anthem. I especially like the way Nick sounds. His accent is really evident on this song.
9+/10

2. Jeff Driller - "Pet-O-Man" (extended)
I'm having serious trouble listening to this song. Not the melody and Franz sounds reliable enuff, that title is just weird. In Spanish Pedo means fart and the way Franze says it sounds like he is saying Fartman. When he repeats it various x in the break it just loses me completely.
7/10

3. Ely Kotero - "Get My Crazy Cat" (extended)
Seriously can anyone deny that this song is about her P+++Y? It certainly is not about a lost cat.LOL! The riff is very good with a bit of Italo thrown in the last notes. My favourit part is the bridge because it builds up nicely to the chorus. The cat sounds also add to the funkyness of the song.
9-/10

4. Franz ''Von Kartoffen'' Tornado & The Bombardier Girls - "Stuka" (extended)
Another general sounding track for Franze. It's pretty much Sucka Sucka Bazooka with some whoa whoas. Those whoas add a little charm to it but nothing really ground breaking. and why the weird title.
7+/10

5. Bazooka Girl - "Hot Dog" (extended)
The first enrty on this compliation that really blows me away. The riff, the lyrics and even Pistol Girl sounds pretty good. I love those added clarinets in the last notes during the verse. Sounds like a song for Ciao Ciao's style, only faster. Either way I love it.
10/10

6. Franz Tornado & The Knights Of The Squared Table - "Lanceloto Play My Koto" (extended)
Wow. Franze really got the short end of the stick on this cd. This is just Motto Motto Inamotto with a different lyrics, Not at all impressed with this track. A big let down to my ears.
6/10

7. Joe Banana - "Mad Dog" (extended)
Here we go. Man is Nick on fire. This one flows nicely with just the right amount of umph to showcase that crazy and and kinda aggressive sounding title. The melody is damn sweet and kinda reminds me of Mad Cow; wich is a certified HRG Classic. The level just shot back up to epic status with this entry.
10/10

8. Baby Gold - "Bang Bang Lady Night" (extended)
Wow! simply amazing! The melody in the verses and bridge is really different sounding and adds a bit of chaotic flava which I was allready missing from songs like Russian Gangsters and Magna El Pirhanna. The chorus is standard HRG ,but sounds right at home with the rest of the package.
10/10

9. Nikita Jr - "Chicken Boy" (extended)
this one has a really different sound to it. Almost like a party favor horn is being played in the riff. The title is strange, but the melody is what drives me absolutley nuts. Its Its....You Spin Me Around like a Record from Dead Or Alive. That alone is a hit for me. her vocals are also normal pitch and that is always wecome on any HRG track
10-/10

10. Black Eva - "Wroom Wroom Supercar" (extended)
Ahhhh! Italo melody palyed in mega fast riff. Incredible! Probly one of the best Black Eva songs in a while. The chorus changes the songs pace, but actually was a good choice to slow down the hypness abit. My favourit melody is in the verses and bridge. Sirens should be a must in all driving theme songs.
10/10

11. Pistol Girl - "Si La Do" (extended)
Like #infinty said, the song shines even more in the midst of songs with a fast theme. I already love this song on SEB 194 and I'm just linking it more with each played. The intro owns all intros in this compliation
10/10

The more I listen to it, I come to realize that it is indeed a great addition to the other cds. It's actually Franz's songs that had that been there done that feel to it. Every other song is basically mega to my ears. So Franz better luck next TIME. I know you can do it

HRG Attack
TORNADO & FRIENDS - The Trailblazers
Artist/Band: Various Artists

Franz Tornado and his friends, from Hi-NRG Attack, the coolest eurobeat label in the world.
www.livemusicstudio.com
Eurobeat/parapara music, the asian craze-Japan born phenomenon has swept across the borders and it is now dancing its way into the hearts of eurobeaters all over the world, reaching legions of feverish fans.
They meet and hold Eurobeat dancing (the parapara) lessons or gather around a game machine at an arcade (or on ps) and dance to the music while one of them plays the game.
Basically, it's a form of dancing based on arms. Each song has a fixed set of moves the dancer needs to follow. Non sense lyrics is part of the entertainment value of the song that amuse eurobeaters.
The result is that people like dancing parapara everyone doing the same moves at once.
The "feeling of becoming one with everyone" makes the dance so appealing.

I love that 8)
