I remember, some time back, some of us were lamenting how bad the 150s were and were hoping the 160s would change it up a little and put SEB back on track. I think it was moderately successful. I don't reallu think you can compare the 160's to the 20-40 range, but I certainly wasn't disappointed.

Can't really say I'd be bored with Eurobeat in general at least. Still the music I listen to daily and a lot of it as well. But my playlist has a very limited amount of tracks from the 160s if I compare it with even the 150s.
If I took a look back to the 160s the only albums I really would be willing to pay for are 161+162, rest of the albums are just not worth it for me.

I made a graph on my 'raiting' of SEB albums from 140-160, because I'm learning Excel for school and I'm a nerd. XD

http://www.dominonline.net/seb140-160bargraph.jpg

I did a scale of 1-18... one point for a song I like, two points for a song that I concider a favorite, and -1 for a song that just pisses me off (Like Dragostea Din Tei, for example. XD) If I reached 18 before I was done going through the list cause of the +2 points, I just stopped because that means I loved it enough to give it perfect. XD

omg! How dare I give an album a high score solely based on the fact that there's music on it that I like! XD

SEB164 is my favorite seb from 160-169 because it has a lot of songs on it that I enjoy and still listen to quite regularly. Here is how I 'rated' the album for my graph.

1. Annerley Gordon - On My Own 2006
2. Mark Foster - Queen (2 points)
3. Mad Cow & The Royal Eurobeat Orchestra - Bazookistan
4. Domino - Fuku Wa Uchi! (2 points)
5. Mako - In The Night In The Fire
6. Mega NRG Man - Into The Night (2 points)
8. Cherry - Make Me Believe
9. Ken Martin - China
11. Donna - Boogie Boogie
12. Manuel - No Control (2 points)
13. Priscilla - Shattered Dreams
15. Kelly Wright - I've Got The Music In My Heart
18. Phil & Linda - Only For Love Only For You

13 + 4 bonus = 17

(and I'm going to get murdered for this, but)

7. Dave - Pride (-1 point)
17. Cindy - Pun Pun Beam (-1 point)

17 - 2 = 15

:)

160 had quite a few mediocre ones, but the only song in the 160's that really made my ears bleed was Madison - Remind Me To Forget. I seriously couldn't listen to it more than once, it was that painful. :(

I agree with 166 being very mediocre too, especially all the tracks in the middle of the CD. I only enjoyed about three songs from it.

Well eurobeat is pretty much the only genre I listen to nowadays as well, just saying that the quality has dropped for me and perhaps for other people as well because it feels as if nothing is all that surprising anymore. I still appreciate eurobeat for what it is, and I try my best to not 'pick' at the songs for similarity/repetitiveness and such (unless it's really obvious) as that'll just make new songs less enjoyable to listen to.

I have to say That the 160's were great enough for me. I won't mention TIME, because they are always great and songs like "Pride", "Magic Rainbow" ans "Drive In The Nite" prove it again as well as all thier remakes and anything by Simon Valeo. HRG and Saifam were all graet, but what I really liked is that SCP appealed to me more than ever. Especiallt the last cd with "Roly Poly Rock, Big Heart and Oh YEah "SHOCK OUT" Perfect NRG from start to finish. AbaetC's Giacomo Caria and NEO also revived my interst in ABeatC. My only regret is that DELTA released rather mediocre songs by Bonini and Magnani, but did make up with "Without You" Madison and Kevin Johnsosn songs. So yeah to me the 160's are very special! I didn't miss one volume! :D

There were some AWESOME songs in the 160's, coupled with some real stinkers, but mostly awesome ones. I liked the 160's and will remember it fondly.

Cy-Ro's tune Get The Dark Side Into My Brain is what I need to hear more of from him. I Want Your Fire did nothing for me, sadly.

As far as I remember, Cy-Ro has had all great songs. Beginning with "I Want Your Fire" Next was "Blue Jean" wich sounded a lot like "Lucky Doom" in keys. I thinkj next was "Bad Illusion" with a completely different style and then came "Delta Force" with lyrics I never understood, since DELTA has nothing to do with HRG Attack. Either way that was my fav Cy-Ro song untill "Get Into The dark Side Of My Brain" That song just RULZ!!! :D

Midnight Love (neo abeat)
Wanna Be with you (?)
Welcome People (Mr.m time)
Dance Dance monster (groove twins, abeat)
Rainbow (Oda, Delta)
DD Dance (annie Time)
Your Never Be lonely (?)
Power (Go2 SCP)
Popcorn and Sex (queen26 Delta)
Intacular (?)
2006 My world 2006 (Sophie, Time)
Die Die (Cody, Delta)
Say you will (Annalise, Abeat)
Ace of Spaders (Powerful T, Abeat)
Wonderful (Ai Yamamoto, SCP or Delta?)
Honesty (Mark Gillian, Time)
I'm Gonna Carry On (Nauge, Abeat)

I don't think ARD is on this album 0-0. My guess is that there will be only female Hi-nrg attack on this (IF they are on this album...it is bothering me to know who these other songs belong to since there are 5 abeat, 4 Time, 4 Delta 3-4, SCP 1-2. Typically HRG Attack would have 2.)

Go2 - Power (?!!)
I didn't know there was going to be an new Go2 on this album. HOT!

Still, I'm just going by song titles on the list as to what looks interesting for me. Queen 26 for the win.
