Yeah, and KL Jones - Come On Come On = Gino Caria - Hold The Line, and Groove Twins - Love Bang Bang = Mela - Help Me. Ofcourse there are more examples. All these songs are equally good, IMO. Is it such a problem that one song sounds like another song once in a while?

It's not a problem when they sound SIMILAR. It's a problem when they sound DARN NEAR EXACTLY the same. I'm not an excellent musician in many rights, but I DO know why it sounds so much like Boom Boom Fire: The chords progress EXACTLY like BBF, barring the key itself (BadX3 is a step down from BBF), and quite honestly I didn't hear any imagination in the song. OUTSIDE OF THAT it wasn't a bad track, I just smelled rehash from the wrong people.
(It really DOES bring up the similarity in the liner notes. I'd post the text, had I been able to type in Japanese characters. Or know that language to begin with.)

I find it ironic that a Hi-nrg attack fan complains about songs that sound similar to each other.
I still find songs enjoyable even if they do sound similar to each other. Heck, if I got sick of songs sounding too similar, I would have immediately dismissed Time, Abeat (Dave Rodgers anyone?), and Hi-NRG Attack a while ago.

oh comon Guys and Girls..The songs never really sound exactly like each other. I think that is where the talent lies? There is allways a note changed on the main hook. Even the Remakes don't sound exactly alike. Seems this debate has been going on for ages...and the verdict is allways the same. The magority of fans don't have any problem with it. Besides that is what gives Eurobeat its charm. Final thought. All Eurobeat/HIGH Energy/Italo must follow a basic melody line, basic instruments and certain BPMs, or else it wouldn't be Eurobeat. It would be Pop or even worse (gags)...Techno

hey don't leave out DELTA, Vibration ,Saifam, nor SCP. They are big offenders too.

You can say "it all sounds the same" about any genre of music - that's the point! That's why they're in a genre to begin with! However, it's how you create the music and bend it to your musical tastes that makes it special. That's why all the EB labels sound quite different in the first place - HiNRG sounds incredibly different to, say, SCP or Delta, which themselves are a ways apart.
EB is perhaps more of a "tweaker formula" genre than some, but that's never mattered to me - I just enjoyed the hyper, uplifting sound that I get from it, that always keeps my head nodding along to it, and keeps me awake on those work-a-day mornings!

Um.. what do you mean by "Tweaker"? I've heard that phrase used when people are on drugs. Did you mean that EB sounds like it was made by peolpe on coke?

I didn't really get your meaning?[/quote]

Maybe you get the same experience while listening to it

To tweak = to change little details, usually to make things better. You can tweak your computer by adding a few fans, or maybe even change your videocard. (:

Odd, I'd
swear I posted a response already, but it seems to have disappeared o_O
Anyway, my mentioning of "tweaker formula" is due to the more formulaic nature of Eurobeat - similar synths, vocals, melodies, chord sequences, techniques, etc. - but the special thing about EB is the way harmonies and instruments get layered together in such a thick mesh (some people call this EB's "soundstage"/"soundscape"), not to mention the uplifting and energetic style.

Yeah, the other day I couldn't stop laughing because I was listening to Tsunami Comes and realized Mira La Luna used the same main melody

I wouldn't mind, though people said she was Zexy on some hypertechno songs? I think? *doesn't listen to hypertechno*
And as for reusing materials, two songs: Yazura no Muko (sp...?) and Lollipop Banana. And while we're at it Space Boy and Final Countdown.

ME. If I had my way she would be in every SCP song. She made One Touch one of the best most-recent eurobeat songs. :3

Yep. She is Zexy of "Blue Scorpion feat Zexy" fame. I'd like to hear a solo song from her in the future.

isn't she also Irene in Let's Fly Together? I think she's Rosemary/Romi too.

I don't really hear her in Let's Fly Together, but it's possible. And I'm horrible at telling voices apart unless it's incredibly blatant.
