The title,"On My Radio" from D.J. Force has a definate TIME discoish vibe to it and "Because You Live" form Miky M.C. also sounds a bit TIMISH. There is a slight chance that it could be GGM as well. I think A bigger GGM fan would know for sure? Nine, are you out there?

Although only slightly related, when I went to see if Mu-Mo had the 182 clips up yet, I noticed the release of Earth Wind & Fire live at Velfarre. Odd to see a group I grew up listening to so close to what I listen to now, but pleasant nonetheless.

Thanks a lot Jay!

Is it me or is the album overall really fast? I like it a lot so far based on the demos :!: (Abeat sounds great! Just love the sound of Demon, Rock on Fire, and Fight All Night :D I hope this is a sign for the possible rise of Abeat's quality for the rest of 180s 8) ).

This time, surprisingly, Delta is pretty good with track 17 & 18.
Let me try something. I say 2 Fast's BPM is 165.

First Impressions based on the samples:

1. Superfast Tokyo Drift / Jeff Driller: Nice, a rather uniquely-structured Hi-NRG Attack production that works nicely! Looking forward to this. Too bad the sample omits the c-melody...

2. Love Is The Name Of Love / Irene: Sounds very, very similar to Let's Fly Together, but the vocalwork is still fantastic. Should definitely be enough to satifsy fans of Elena Gobbi or female eurobeat in general.

3. Planet Love / Magika: Eurodancy TIME, but only for the better. A more diverse production by their general standards, with an already-great chorus and a favorable glimpse of the c-melody.

4. Demon / Ace Warrior: A classic-style A-Beat C track. Nothing new or special, but actually quite solid and hopefully one of their better presentations lately.

5. Overdrive / Fastway: Sounds similar to Crash Boom Burn Me Up. The song itself doesn't amaze me that die-hardedly right now, but I think I'll enjoy it more as a completed package. It still sounds like it's going to pack a nice punch for Ennio fans like me.

6. On My Radio / DJ Force: Pretty catchy, nicely-produced all around. Not a standout, but it's still a nice track so far.

7. Fight All Night / Powerful T.: Powerful T. projects a lot of energy into this piece, but once again the synth quality destroys its potential. I think it would've sounded better if made over a year ago, but the over-the-top vocals just don't tie toghether with the weak synths.

8. Because You Live / Miky MC: TIME has been branching out to a few new ideas so far, and this continues that streak for its melodic structure. Sounds pretty nice overall, but still not the best the label can put out.

9. Shining Like A Lucky Star / Kelly T.: A Nuage-like track with a nice melody, but Kelly's vocals are a bit out of it here, and the c-melody doesn't sound very intriguing.

10. Everlasting Fire / Melissa White: This just might be the hit of the album; incredible so far. The melody itself isn't too different from the Irene tracks we've heard lately, but the toned-down bpm and larger beat emphasis gives it a nice distinction. A powerful, memorable performance by the sound of it.

11. Paraboy / Leslie Parrish: More Asia-like Delta. Actually, this song had many redeeming qualities that reminded me a lot of Domino. Sounds really neat, and yet another one of Delta's more creative productions lately. It doesn't sound like it should be a Leslie Parrish track, though (Candy Taylor would be a lot more appropriate).

12. I Bet For Lovin' / Baby Gold: The production quality of this track sounds marvelous. Vocals shouldn't have been pitched-up, but it still has enough redeeming qualities to make me move.

13. Superman 2007 / Dany: A decent modernization of an awesome classic, if not as good as the original. It lacks the spirit of Clara Moroni's original performance, but who knows, it could easily grow on me after I listen to the full version.

14. Speedy Runner / King & Queen: Actually pretty nice. Whereas the Powerful T. track suffered a serious case of good melody / bad production, this track makes excellent use of the label's current style. Very catchy, and a massive step ahead of Dance.

15. The Final Game / Dave Rodgers & Kiko Loureiro: The chorus sounds pretty nice, except the held notes drag as it progresses. The c-melody sounds boring, but hopefully Kiko Loureiro's performance will make up for that.

16. Rock On Fire / Mega NRG Man: Much better than Catch My Fire, but still fairly average and nothing new or exciting. Not much originality here, and I'm tired of eurobeat artists rhyming "fire" with "desire" and "higher" almost all the time.

17. Set Me Free / Cherry: Excellent! Yet another Delta performance with plenty of edge, perfect vocals, and a promising c-melody. Among the best tracks on the CD.

18. Burning Up The Night (Total Fire) / 2 Fast: More lyrical unoriginality (fire, desire, higher, ugh) disappoints me here. I actually wonder if this track is actually an Akyr hyper techno crossover, though maybe it's just a sign that Delta wants to compete with them. It's always nice to have an extreme-paced song on Super Eurobeat every once in a while, but this still isn't as fantastic as it could've been.

Overall, SEB 182 sounds quite good in many respects. The general level is above average, and the compilation still comes with some great standouts. TIME sounds much better again, if not as fantastic as they were on SEB 179, and A-Beat C isn't entirely bad. The biggest downfall of this selection would definitely be the complete lack of GGM. There is a total of 6 A-Beat C tracks, and while some of them are pretty good, a few of them seem unoriginal and could've easily been replaced by something from Domino's label. I don't know why AVEX is being this harsh to fans of GGM, but fortunately SEB 182 sounds like a solid entry in the series to continue the good reputation.

Favorite tracks:

1. Set Me Free / Cherry
2. Everlasting Fire / Melissa White
3. Superfast Tokyo Drift / Jeff Driller

Speedy Runner does sound really good, even though it doesn't feature Elena Gobbi (goes cry in the corner)...

Actually, throughout the 30-second sample (including the second or 1/2 second of silence at the end, I counted 21.5 measures of 4/4 time (which is 86 beats). Multiply that by 2, and you get 172 BPM. I think that the song is actually going to be closer to 170 BPM, but still, that's the fastest BPM I have ever heard in a eurobeat song. (Mira La Luna, by contrast, was 165 BPM - I have a very accurate stepfile (for Stepmania) of it, courtesy of E-P's very own #Infinity!)
