YES - all of this!! avex - employ this man as series director right now!zoupzuop2 wrote:Looks pretty good "in-person"!
Now, very clearly this is going to be an attention-getter series for SEB, so I have an idea for how the next one SHOULD go (yes, y'know what, I AM going to assert that I would manage this album better than it's currently done).
• Any remixes of original Miku-associated tunes are handled by the existing SEB labels.
• Original Miku/Vocaloid content by new Vocalo-Beat labels stands on its own. In other words, if Samfree makes another Eurobeat tune with a Vocaloid and wants it on Vocalo-Beat, he may submit it directly.
• SEB labels can make their songs duets or "[Artist] feat. Miku" if they so choose, and the song can be original (i.e, not already a "Miku" song)
• Labels not currently on SEB can play along, but either their submission must be self-produced Eurobeat or remixed by the existing labels.
This way, fans of Vocaloid get to hear new Eurobeat (or existing songs in a new Eurobeat light), fans of Eurobeat get to hear some songs that Japanese producers have been cooking up (Italy's not the only country in the game~!), Crypton gets their attention-getting star out there, existing Italian Labels still get to use their vocal talent, Japanese labels get a shot... and Avex snags some money for the Super Eurobeat series.
You know, for someone with shit taste, you've actually got some good points.zoupzuop2 wrote:Looks pretty good "in-person"!

That was uncalled for.Wataru Akiyama wrote: You know, for someone with shit taste, you've actually got some good points.
Indeed, it was. Seriously Wataru... give some respect. He achieved things we thought impossible...zoupzuop2 wrote:That was uncalled for.Wataru Akiyama wrote: You know, for someone with shit taste, you've actually got some good points.
Wow and I thought I usually came across as a complete asshole.Wataru Akiyama wrote:You know, for someone with shit taste, you've actually got some good points.
Give me a break, bro, it's not like I'm a silly newbie.Lebon14 wrote:Indeed, it was. Seriously Wataru... give some respect. Why any "self respecting" vocalist would take vocaloid seriously is beyond me. Just for proposing SEB vocalists to sing duets with a computerized voice says a lot about your "ahem" taste. Maybe the lesser talented/skilled vocalists can sing with machines and in doujin groups, but at least respect vocalists like Pasquini and Dejorio. Italian voices should NOT be marred by Japanese computerized warblings. They at least have some sense of dignityzoupzuop2 wrote: • Any remixes of original Miku-associated tunes are handled by the existing SEB labels.
Bad idea
• SEB labels can make their songs duets or "[Artist] feat. Miku" if they so choose, and the song can be original (i.e, not already a "Miku" song)
WORST IDEA
• Labels not currently on SEB can play along, but either their submission must be self-produced Eurobeat or remixed by the existing labels.
Lame idea
Really? You're going to make an assumption on my entire taste on ONE cartoon that I enjoy every so often? Yes, enough so to create a series of remixes based on it that are bringing plenty of new fans into the genre (It's the first thing people see when they type in "Eurobeat" on Google or Youtube, just sayin'), but it's not like the show runs my life, I enjoy plenty of other shows. I still produce originals (confessedly, less often than I'd like), I still make remixes of other shows (taste didn't seem to be an issue when the Toho Eurobeat series comes out, either)... so what gives?Wataru Akiyama wrote:>he likes a show I don't like

I'm not suggesting that it's a wonderful thing if the original vocalists did these duets, dude. I was suggesting that IF this side-series goes forward, it's one possibility. And, spoiler alert, when I look up what's going on in the Eurobeat world and its demographic(s)— every day, mind you— I happen to catch that Japanese fans like Vocaloids quite a bit. Is that a bad thing for flesh-and-blood vocalists? Most likely. Does that change the fact that they're notable? No. Very clearly they're important enough to avex to warrant releasing songs from/about one, and obviously if the first one sells well they're going to want to do more. SEB vocalists may choose to catch some of this attention or not. The key words you missed were "if they so choose", they may choose not to.Valianttrust wrote:Why any "self respecting" vocalist would take vocaloid seriously is beyond me. The idea of vocal power isn't exclusively Italian, though it's true that J-Euro doesn't quite have the same "punch", vocally, in as many cases as Italian-produced (or American-produced) Eurobeat. I suppose it would remain in the hands of the producers to see if they could work on that idea, if it so interests them.Vadim wrote:Vocaloid on italian eurobeat is nonsense...cuz it destroys the italian concept of vocal power.
But it works o.k. for J-Eurobeat...
I've also been here for half a decade. Your point?Wataru Akiyama wrote:Give me a break, bro, it's not like I'm a silly newbie.
I've been here for a half-decade, which is long enough for me to deduce that the old truism about lunacy and genius sticks firm in Zoupy's case.
Also, have you -read- his blog? The dude is a complete stranger to good taste. My Little Pony, seriously? Pfeeeeeeeeh.
Sorry, I just hadn't to re-quote as I'm totally dumbfounded about the source of that comment!zoupzuop2 wrote:That was uncalled for.Wataru Akiyama wrote: You know, for someone with shit taste, you've actually got some good points.
