To me 166 is the weakest in the 160s to date. A definate low after the high of 164. For me it's basically, listen to the first three songs, and then skip until the last three songs. Shock Out was a lot better than what I was expecting from the preview sample and Ring of Fire is so refreshing after hearing Dave Rodger's last few releases. And of course Domino and Black UFO are the winners of the album.

And if Hi-NRG Attack continues like this I say cut them off after 170 and stick on Akyr instead. They've got to get their act together. I never thought I'd be so disappointed in them as to suggest getting them off SEB -.-

I loved Mark Gillian's song. One of my favorites in the 160's series. The Symbol was creative but not my forte. Sara wasn't thrilling to me. It's stuff I've heard before.
You can hate me but you know you have quality issues =p

No No No! have U been under a rock. Lately HRG has some great songs. Lucky Doom, Maid Attack,Bazooka,Pum Pum Beam just to name a few. Maybe the prod. value of the two songs on this cd are not very good, but there will be no dropping of labels. Besides HRG Attack(and I state the obvious) are the closest to Saifam sound in BPMs, vocals and synths...and why not, since Claudio Accantino wrote with Mauro at Asia for many years.
I definately think Akyr should be added, but not at the expense of a another label. Just squeez them in there. Thier catalougue is small and showcasing 1 song every other SEB wouldn't be a bad idea. AVEX if you are watching, take it into concideration.
I gotta have full version of Dr. Gee- Rainbow. The DOA sound is alive & well :D

If Akyr replaces anyone, it'll be Saifam. Aren't they only supposed to be on SEB temporarily, anyhow?

8) What? Boom Boom Beat cannot go anywhere, but my cd player.

In my opinion, since the departure of Laurent, DELTA has been the weekest, but I still wouldn't drop them
strong reasons to keep labels in order of preferance.
1. TIME= on since the beginning of SEB. They are simply the kings. Plus all the producers from other labels got thier start there. And they can make a romantic song, without it sounding like mush or add trans effects.
2. ABeatC= Dave Rodgers is another godfather of Eurobeat. Plus you can't deny them Nuage, Matt Land and Go Go Girls. All become staples of SEB.
3. Boom Boom Beat= Just the name Mauro Farina should be enough, but listening to some of thier latest prods, I think they will take SEB onto the nexy decade.
4. HRG Attack= Other than great productions, I think they are the "comic" relief of the series. Whacky Titles with even whackier vocals. Plus them and Saifam share a similiar beat.
5. SCP= I could just type in GoTo and it would guarantee thier stay, but actually thier prods are getting better...and they are the fan fav.
6. DELTA= Laurents departure really put a dent in thier prods, but still The need for Clara vocals asures thier stay.
7. AKYR= A great new adition is needed and thier songs are far from duet mush and very fast in BPMs. Besides we need Laurent back in spotlight. That is not to say the least of Di Marcantonio, though I perfer him at TIME. :D

If that happens, I get the feeling there would be a MASSIVE fan revolt. Saifam have become one of the best labels in the SEB series and to replace them, even with someone like Akyr who also have great songs, would be a tragedy...

They've only released 10 songs since their return, songs that I suspect are already a couple years old to begin with. I don't think there'd be that much backlash.

Anyways, where was the fan revolt when Vibration left?

Judging from the popularity of the Saifam songs on recent albums, I think a lot of people would be sad to see them go...

And I would definitely have taken part in a revolt when Vibration were dropped had I released that they had actually been dropped. By the time I got the whole different labels thing right in my mind, they were already gone :( I do miss Vibration...

But yeah, the fact remains that Saifam are among my top 3 SEB labels at the moment (along with SCP & A-Beat C) so dropping them just isn't even a possibility for me...

I'm expecting HRG to bounce back on 167 - they always seem to have random albums where they just let their productions slip below par, so I'm hoping 166 was just another momentary lapse in concentration!

I think, a huge change would the best for all of us.
They should give us back "Eurobeat Flash" series and keep SEB too.
Only with extended versions, with all the labels.
Just an idea:
SEB series:
-14 tracks all extended
-released in every month
-labels: (most)Time, ABeatC, Delta, (few) SCP, Asia

Eurobeat Flash series:
-14 tracks all extended
-released in every 2-3 month
-labels: (most) Asia, SCP, Akyr, HRG, (few) ABeatC, Delta

...wake up, ricfiam...
...I remember that time...

Personally I would love the Eurobeat Flash serie to return in which I would see it as

The Regular SEB serie with 18 tracks but with TIME, Delta, A-Beat and some SCP

Then Eurobeat Flash with 18 tracks of Akyr, ARD/Saifam, Hi-nrg attack, some SCP and *gasp* Fantasy! I love the Fantasy label (despite it seeming rather weak...) but a few tracks once or twice wouldn't be bad. (Though I don't think Fantasy is alive anymore T-T)

Now that would be a dream...having 2 Super eurobeat compiliations per month...and hopefully maybe more labels could sprout up...that would be really neat.

8) Who is Fantasy label. Never heard of them. What producers do they have. I like you're idea of more label sprouting up, but I don't think it will . Remember Ravnant's label on Europanic? Though good songs, they didn't last.
I do like the extended versions cd. Or maybe add SEB another cd with extended. OR BETTER START PRESSING 12's and make avaliable in other countries besides Japan  Sorry this really get me steamed.
anyways, all good ideas

Drnrg's posts sometimes amuse me.

Fantasy is a Japanese Eurobeat label and the chief producer, Masaha Suzuki
is now Japanese agent for Akyr Music, so you can hear a sample of their music (Minamijuji no hoshi) on Akyr's website.
Japanese-made eurobeat isn't my cup of tea, though.

Well, that's just it. Those "great" songs are mostly songs I can't stand. Pun Pun Beam was passable and Super Guts barely so, but neither were great in any way, and out of all their releases, the only one I've loved is Bazookistan.

I would definitely hope that Akyr could be added in without the expense of another label (considering adding in another label would FORCE SEB to only use the best of the best from each label as there would be less space for songs with another label in there). However, compared to the rest of the labels, Hi-NRG Attack is the weakest. I'm not saying this based on the fact of whether they deserve it or not due to their years of being in the business, but rather based on the fact of what it is that they're producing right now (or at least what i've heard on the 160s thus far).
