I guess Shot Shot Shot really will be the unexpected "century finale" if 197-199 do turn out to be 3 hunks of nonstop junk.

Seems more likely to me, anyways, now with the price increase. Extendeds + a megamix leading up to 200?

No chance at all. CDJapan's info page says that the number of discs is one.

We'll probably get Nonstop junk.

It'll come with one disc - it's the same price as SEB165.

Looks like 196 really will be the last album I'm going to purchase. By the time 201 rolls in - and only if the series lasts until then - I would've lost all interest in eurobeat anyway. I'll not be supporting these ridiculous changes Avex are making, and I'm sick and tired of the abuse us international fans are being subject to. I'll still be supporting and buying extendeds from Delta, Saifam and whatnot via Juno, but 7A and the SEB series can shove it.

The Speed & Power Style series, which comes with two discs and priced at nearly $33 USD, is only $8 more expensive than 197 with one disc. And then there's 180, which also comes with two discs and is only $5 more expensive than 197. How does one justify that?

^ Hum... SEB 180 had 3 discs.
Lucky that you are American. I pay my SEBs about 40$CAD.

Okay, is it 100% guaranteed that this album is going to be non-stop? No. Is it possible that it will be a non-stop? Yes.

However, I really don't think we should all start engraving the SEB tombstone without any concrete proof that Avex have gone down that line. I agree that it would be a big step backwards, especially as the extended versions are now very difficulty to obtain for international listeners, but I still don't think we are witnessing the end of the series.

I would suggest that, if SEB 197 turns out to be megamix, we start a boycott of SEB on these forums and make it very public (and therefore visible to Avex) that we are doing so - see if we can get other forums to join us in doing so.

As Ditz says, this is all hear-say right now, so let's not jump to any conclusions until the tracklist is published.

But any such notion that we have to put up with megamix-only releases of new songs is completely unacceptable, and Avex should hear this from us loud and clear, rather than just a few people randomly complaining on forums.

MP3 downloading? That would be an awesome boycott.
But I also had another idea. My idea would be that, here in E-P, we writte a letter to all labels explaining our situation and desire as international listeners of Eurobeat. We also explain what Avex do to us and make it stop.

What I suggest is a general boycott, a little different to Mike's, we will boycott SEB and the labels will start to disregard Avex until they (Avex), if they want to keep SEB, have to bow to the label's desires.

Yep. My idea : Letter to the labels + label boycott Avex.

The label could go and sell their stuff online like Delta, Saifam and Hi-NRG Attack already do.

Anyway, keep the idea flowing. We need to be heard.

...but Newfield allready said it wasn't gonna be nonstop. I doubt AVEX will lie to him :???:

anyway,
Boycotting Eurobeat doesn't seem like a way to go for me. I don't think this cd will be nonstop, not with a price hike like that. It just doesn't make sense. I'm keeping my hopes up untill the cd comes out. ..and if it does turn out to be nonstop then I'm gonna get myself a Japanese contact who will purchase the songs for me or find a place to download the extended versions...and that's that

Newfield didn't say that he heard that the CD wasn't a megamix by Avex, he said that, to the last news, it wasn't. But, that last news is maybe old though.

Also, like someone pointed out, SEB 197 is the same price as SEB 165, which is a megamix... the last one we got in-between XX0s. If it's only one volume, I'm not against it finally. But, if it's 4 volumes in a row (includes SEB 200), then, sorry but it's a little too much.

And then.... why didn't they (Avex) release those megamixes earlier? One in the 170's, one in the 180's and one in the 190's instead of putting out 3 in a row?

I guess I would be able to take much better decisions myself considering the album and I would listen to the fans (including international fans) and release what they want to hear the most instead of deciding for the others.

The theme is "Kind Of Eurobeat" for this as we already know. I expect SEB 198 to be "Queen Of Eurobeat" lol. Anyway...

Avex, YOU SUCK D**KS

Not only that but through a rough translation of the blog it seems that SEB 200 is themed to be slower eurobeat I could (and pray to God hope) I am wrong

Hmm strange I guess they must've changed it, cause I could've sworn one of the booklets or obis said that 200 was going to be a request countdown...

She was talking about how they are planning on distributing slower, more "back to basics" sounding Eurobeat after SEB 200.

Whatever they do, I hope they keep around Euro-chan and Beat-kun *_*

What does that mean? More 90's and 80's sounding Eurobeat
