I prefer the Babes. At least add some images and colour. Those new SEB covers are just boring and dull and they don't represent the music on the cd at all :(

And those weirdly make-upped/dressed girls do? XP
Hey, when you love women, you love women. I kinda like the goth looking chicks from the 70s -80s SEBs. Esp. the one that "Gots Milk" :D
Huh? Milk? :|
I thought it was something else :!:

Meh. XP I suppose.

I always considered the women on the front covers to reflect something that's targeted towards...well, their targeted audience.
#Infinity wrote:I've personally kinda just gotten so used to the models on the cover that the covers of SEB 197 to 199 look so...empty. They're already bland and uncolorful in the first place, anyway.
As Javy said...
Javy wrote:Well as digital images they do look kind of bleh but in real life they are nice and shiny and pretty.
They really are. =3 I actually liked the cover design even before seeing it printed, but MAN! When you actually see it in real life, it looks fantastic! You kind of don't want to tear your eyes away from it. XD ESPECIALLY if you like shiny things.

I won't care for this album seriously.

Wow, unlike the otherwise-great SEB 197, I gotta admit that 198 sounds like it has quite a lot of variety. The new tracks are definitely comprised mainly of slower-style, poppier songs (probably an attempt to improve sales), but I gotta admit I'm really liking what I hear from some of them. In particular, I absolutely adore the samples for Pamsy and Christine & Irene, but the other tracks all sound pretty promising as well.

I actually care more so for this album than I did for 197. 199 is the one I'm truly anxious to get my hands on, though.

Wow Stephy Martin has pretty powerful vocals in Speed Demon. I know this one is going to be the winner of the album (Krystal's track is really unique too). :)

A pity I won't be able to hear it in full...judging from how long it took me to get a full listen of 197 on itunes :???:

Only 2 songs from the new ones what i like:
10. STAR HEART / VICKY VALE
19. EASY COME & EASY GO / CHRISTINE & IRENE
-but these are perfect.

So we get some new songs too.

10.Vicky Vale- Star Heart(Delta)
prety nice chorus, but Italo Beat Boy was her best eva!
:)

11. Cherry- Keep Fall In Love.(Delta)
Love that galloping bass. Delta is pretty reliable for female songs
:)

12. Stephy- Speed Demon(Dima)
No speed in this song, but doesn't dissapoint at all. Like the start of the riff and Stephy sounds in top form. She sings Demon like we say it in spanish. I think the sound would sound even more wicked with faster BPMs

13.Crystal- Dream(Dima)
Nowhere near the power of One Week. Not liking it too much
:(

14.Pamsy- Sunshine Baby(SCP)
Can't say I hate it. Kinda sounds like 90's Eurobeat. Not transy at all and could grow on me.
:)

15.Futura- I'm A Superstar(AbeatC)
This sounds really week soundworld wise and too repetetive in this chorus. She helped write the epic Fire Dragon for Dave, so what happened here?
:(

16.Peeka Boo- Koko Soko(Saifam)
Not a terrible melody, but not feeling it right now.
:(

17.Virginelle- The Power Of Love(GGMs)
Not really my style. Wish I could hear more of the riff.
:(

18.Veronika- S.O.S.(Eurogrooves)
Better than Mama Mia. What got my attention was that wicked riff.
:)

19.Christine & Irene- Easy Come Easy Go(SCP)
Not for me at all.
:(

20. Black Eva- Wroom Wroom Super Car(HRG Attack)
One of HRG's best riffs in years.

30. RUMIRINGO SUPERSTAR / HI-NRG ALL STARS(HRG Attack)
Has the melody of a Nick Festari song or some other classic I can't recall so I like it.
:)

About as much as I could expect from an all female line up. There are some nice songs. A couple of bad ones, but only two that really got me pumped. Stephy and Black Eva. Pamsy kinda surprised me a bit. Really gotta hear that song in it's entirety.

Out of everything Eurobeat that has been released this last couple months, I'll take the two HRG releases on Juno any day.

I've heard the extended version of Speed Demon, Stephy's vocals are kinda insane in it.

edit: in Mamma Mia, Veronica doesn't sound like Annerly to me, but SOS does...

i think they are both Annerly? It sure isn't Elena nor Dahny

Smile.dk vs. Peeka Boo.. Smile.dk takes the game 100-0 :)

The main issue I have with the Peek-A-Boo version is that in every single way it has been produced using elements that are made to sound identical to the Smile.dk track but that don't actually succeed in producing the same sound. It brings nothing new to the song at all, and it just ends up highlighting the obvious flaws (the singer isn't as good, the wrong lead synth was chosen for the hook etc. etc.) It's a very odd selection for a Super Eurobeat album - even more so than the left-field choice of Because I Need U by Renoir.

I actually really really really really liked Peeka-Boo's version :)

I just put my two cents in and say that the song is a bit too mellow and repetitious for my style. It's not horid, just sounds like it's made more for a mainstream audience than for Eurobeat freaks like me.
