Maybe it's because you were expecting it to sound like an ABeatC-type song?

Actually it did sounded bit like A-Beat C .. to my ears.. am i the only one?
and Fuku Wa Uchi was nothing i expected, it was bad.. it's a shame

That's the exact same feeling I got; it's nice, but I wasn't too taken by it. Alessandria has done MUCH better work. I also find the back-up vocals/voices extremly annoying, and the introduction (along with chorus) hit a nerv. The song's a bit too cute. It is nice though, so don’t get me wrong.

I liked Make A Movement; it's not quite as good as some of his other songs, but I certainly enjoy listening to it.

I really liked Into The Night by Mega NRG Man! It's nothing like any of his other work (as far as lyrics go), and the emotion isn't like anything else I've heard him do before either. What really got me about it, was the intro. I love it. It's wonderful. One of the best introductions I've heard before in eurobeat.
The only thing that got me about this song was Nuage; why was she doing back-up vocals for him? It didn't sound bad, but it didn't quite sound right either. She should stick to working with Dave Rodgers for back-up vocals.

I really like this CD myself! I'm happy I got it!

I can safely say that after hearing "Fuku Wa Uchi - Domino", I would not be saddenned if Ms. Gatti stayed in the shadows for another year.

I was hoping for a re-invention of her style, but instead I was exposed to... I can't even describe it, it was so poor. It was everything that made her bad in the first place, but amplified.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. I can't stand her 'Dominese'.

I *LOVED* Fuku Wa Uchi!

It's like, it's Domino, but doing a Kiki & Fancy song! It was nice and happy and cheery! It was pretty close to what I expected, and I'm damn well happy about that. Hope there's more Domino on SCP tracks, though I doubt it.

Nah nothing like that. If I expected it to be an A-Beat C song it wouldn't really matter much as I love SCP style just as much. The thing is what Sadie said as well... The track just is missing the actual punch. I can listen to it, and will listen to it a lot, but won't probably be doing it for a long time.

Into the night has alot of punch. Tomas delivers once again!!!

My thoughts on the songs from 164:

[1]A.Gordon - On My Own 2006: Compared to the last new mixes from 2005 (relatively), this one sounds about average to me. It's okay but I don't think it's spectacular.
[2] Mark Foster - Queen: Saifam is coming for your first born, and they mean it! The rapid synth cords are nice, and the vocals sound great. Niiiiice.
[3] Mad Cow - Bazookistan: The trumpets are a very fresh effect. It was very unexpected to hear them used. I like this one. Fresh new WB Thursdays.
[4] Domino - Fuku Wa Uchi: I could only listen to this track once. Sorry
[5] Mako - In The Night Of Fire: This song sounded okay the first listen through, but has grown on me. The backup vocals sound good, and has nice effects throughout.
[6] Mega NRG Man - Into The Night: Sounds pretty good. About an 86% track.
[7] Dave - Pride: Jayveemon has been pimping this track out like he knows your cousin. He's right though, this song is good. So much power throughout the song, with emotional vocals and matching synth energy. Wow.
[8] Cherry - Make Me Believe: The opening is fantastic, and the first matching vocals from Cherry give me chills. The synths are typical Cherry style (I like Cherry style synths, *ahem). This is one of my top three favorites on this disc. "MAKE ME BELIEVE!"
[9] Ken Martin - China: Perhaps Avex is looking for China themed songs from Saifam, as both Queen and this track both talk about China. I love this song, the vocals are great, and the synth chords are very fast and hard hitting. Saifam now owns the deed to your car, respect!
[10] Alexis - Blue: Vocals to this one are nice, but it doesn't work for me. Another 86% track.
[11] Donna - Boogie Boogie: The intro to this one is just plain amazing! The furious beats hit. The after effect of the orchestra hit sound on the main vocal lines is cool. I like this one.
[12] Manuel - No Control: The opening to this one also matches the opening to the previous track. Lots of energy to this one, sounds great.
[13] Priscilla - Shattered Dreams: What is the, the battle for the best opening all of the sudden?! These are all sounding great. Shattered Dreams! There is some audio effect that sounds to be on harmonic with the synth lines when "Shattered Dreams" comes in from the vocals. It goes up an octave, but the effect combined sounds sooo nice!
[14] Dave - Make A Movement: This track does sound good, but still comes out feeling average by mid-track. A good song, but not great. Avex needs to check their mastering for this one, the treble from Dave's voice hurts my ears. It sounds too high.
[15] Kelly Wright - I've Got The Music In My Heart: This track sound good, but I'm not a fan of this particular style.
[16] Go 2 - Looka Bomba: Hold on, because this one is fast and ain't stopping! You'll like this one, it's a superb track. My new Go 2 favorite, 100%! Don't go driving with this one playing in your car
[17] Cindy - Pun Pun Beam: Ok, the title brings questionable content to the rest of the vocals in this song. I hope I'm not the only one that thinks the title is funny. I like it, because the title and vocals bring me to the point of practically feeling dirty.
[18] Phil & Linda - Only For Love Only For You: Quality all the way through! The vocals are smooth, and the beat synths are candy! I like it.

I liked a lot more tracks on here than ones I didn't, so overall this album scores well with me.

OT: Jay, what is FITWOOD? That logo is huge.

My thoughts on 164 aren't much different from you guys but here goes.




01. ON MY OWN 2006 / ANNERLY GORDON

A good, solid, "classic" Eurobeat strack. The solid drum beat is coupled with pleasant, easy synth and vibrant vocals. It has a very easygoing feel to it. Not very high-speed but steady. Everything in this song compliments each other, and it goes well.

02. QUEEN / MARK FOSTER

A good, quick, bassy song from Mark Foster, the man who brought us Like A Fire. Plenty of kick and bass.

03. BAZOOKISTAN / MAD COW

Any song from Mad Cow will be very energetic and fun, and Bazookistan follows this style very well. It's a little different from his older "Russian" themed tracks though. The vocals go very well the synths, and the horn intro is very amusing and fitting. Overall, a song to get you up and running.

04. FUKU WA UCHI / DOMINO

A cutesy, girly tune that fits Domino's style. Most of her Japanese-stylee tracks follow a trend of being very upbeat and cute. I can imagine schoolgirls all over Japan listening to this in their MP3 players. It is very much like one of Hamasaki's J-Euro tunes. The vocals are a bit high but not unbearable so. Pleasant synths. Good melody.

05. IN THE NIGHT IN THE FIRE / MAKO

A bit different and with stronger vocals than Mako's usual stuff. Good background, with a rather strong synths that blur the vocals a little bit. Overall, the song has a good, quick feel to it. Not particularly special and feels a little generic, but still pleasing.

06. INTO THE NIGHT / MEGA NRG MAN

Another classic Mega NRG Man track...strong vocals, strong synths, strong guitar, strong beat. Nothing to let you down here. A good track in general.

07. PRIDE / DAVE

This is a good example of Eurobeat. Very nice guitar intro! It really gets the blood pumping. The guitars continue to supple strength and energy to the track, while the vocals and synth add a good melody and feel.

08. MAKE ME BELIEVE / CHERRY

A track filled with emotion. The synths on this one make it sound...fit for an Initial D soundtrack. It sounds just like something you'd hear from there. The vocals are nice. Not too high, and very melodical. A little bit disco.

09. CHINA / KEN MARTIN

A fastpaced Ken Martin track, as usual. Good vocals, and I liked the backup vocals quite a bit. Nice Oriental feel to it. Definitely a bit of spice to 164.

10. BLUE / ALEXIS

Not particularly exciting. The synth is soft and gentle, the vocals are not strong, though.

11. BOOGIE BOOGIE / DONNA

I liked the synths on this one. Nice melody, strong beat. Vocals left a little to be desired but they fit in well.

12. NO CONTROL / MANUEL

Manuel brings us another strong track in the same vein as Let's Go, Come On. This song has the same energy and power. The vocals are tight and compliment the synth well. The synth is very clear and bright, with a fastpaced melody. The beat is solid.

13. SHATTERED DREAMS / PRISCILLA

A classic, disco-style track with a slightly slower beat and synth. Good melody, good vocals. I enjoyed the vocals specially.

14. MAKE A MOVEMENT / DAVE RODGERS

Dave Rodgers delivers again! A strong, upbeat track with plenty of get-up-and-go. The guitar in this is particularly good. Makes you want to dance. The vocals are topnotch, as always in Dave Rodgers' tunes. The synth is really good. Really upbeat. In short the whole track will have you wanting to dance.

15. I'VE GOT THE MUSIC IN MY HEART / KELLY WRIGHT

This track is slower paced, again, but has a quick synth and a good backbeat with bass. The vocals are well done. They're very clear and easy to hear. A nice track.

16. LOOKA BOMBA / GO 2

YES! GO 2, the duo made of ACE and Fastway, made another excellent tune! The vocals are influenced HEAVILY by Fastway. Hell, the whole track seems controlled by Fastway. It just makes it better. The synth is rageful and fast, and the beat is strong. An excellent track, the highlight of the album, I'd say.

17. PUN PUN BEAM / CINDY

A superfast, hi-nrg track with raised female vocals and high synth.

18. ONLY FOR LOVE ONLY FOR YOU / PHIL & LINDA

A slow, VERY Disco-influenced track. Mellow and gentle. The vocals are soft and easy. It's like a cooldown after the speedy rollercoaster ride 164 gave. A good close to the track.

Yes, I'm very happy to hear Mauro Farina singing on Super Eurobeat. His voice is the best! (I've been a Mauro fan since the early Time Records period ) Although it could be good for SAIFAM to release a few slower tracks as well. However, the quality is high, so you won't hear me compain!

Saifam is that great with slower BPM eurobeat tracks i.e. Fly Fly and Mickey Mouse March. Fly Fly isn't so much bad as it is dull while MMM is a train wreck and obviously underproduced. It's better they stickw ith what they are good at which is 157-164BPM eurobeat tracks D=

Mickey Mouse is on Speed Records, I think that is a different genre anyway... (and they used the Bad Desire/Body Rock phrase) Indeed, Fly Fly is a bit dull...

I actually meant: slower like in the early nineties, for example "Perfect Love" by Machismo. A beautiful tribute to Miko Mission. After all these years it is still one of my favorite tracks.

Mickey Mouse March maybe be on Speed Records but it is eurobeat (156BPM) and it's not the first time eurobeat was released on Speed Records (see SPE 27 I think Angelica - Doesn't Really Matter or SPE 33 Radiorama-ABCD (Hi-NRG Speed Rmx)) And I think the eurobeat style from teh early 90s and 80s... should stay there unless a retro comp is being released. I mean while some old school tracks are great most of them can easily be topped by something from the modern era. (nothing will ever beat Angie Gold - Eat You Up though)

On a random note... It seems Saifam's speed releases and eurobeat releases are starting to sound too similiar... I mean listen to the synths used in Ken Alamo and then listen to Jenny Rom - Be My Cowboy (Speed Remix)... Eh their speed style has gone downhill since after Toxic and Dip It Low were made... Also their eurobeat is getting a bt too fast I mean it's practically as fast as some speed releases (Hanna - Bring Me To Life 165BPM, Wildside - Irresistiblement 166BPM, Barbie Young - Billy Crocodile Speed Mix 160BPM)
