I agree with Ricfiam! After they stopped producing 12" vinyls in Italy, we're stuck with the Japanese produced butchered "re-edits" from avex's Eurobeat vinyls. So the only true form to get extendeds is either buying from mu-mo (with horrible quality) or buying them directly from the labels like Delta, Akyr, Saifam, Hi-NRG Attack and some from Music-Master.

I'm happier to be able to get extendeds in CD quality for the labels who have a tighter contract with avex (like ABeatC, SCP, SinclaireStyle, Go Go's Music...)

Sometimes the extended edits can be WORSE than the SEB versions, for example: Leslie Parrish - Remember Me; way too repetitive.

Apparently, Time has been kicked off SEB by Avex (according to Newfield) - instead Avex is going to be licensing songs direct from Mr. Dall'ora. This won't have any effect on the output, supposedly, but I thought it quite interesting given the current EB climate
No use in ranting & Raving about any of this. Sure I'm pissed as hell, but what is done is done. People. we are dealing with AVEX. It's all about the money. I all do can do join the ranks of the rest of you and send a great big F**K U to AVEX :D

The best way to send a 'fuck you' to avex would be to stop buying their albums, but it's hard to shake that you're indirectly supporting the artists, as well. Lousy evil tyrants. :(

Can't do that cuz I'm addicted to stuff. It's a drug I can't kick. Maybe I'll send AVEX an email expressing my thoughts

Maybe F**K AVEX will be my new signature.

SOMETIMES. Another example on how sometimes the extended sounds WORSE than the SEB edit : Dark Angels - Right Now. In the middle of the song... it CUTS to go into a badly mixed breakdown.

If a song is originally shit, the extended cannot help it. True. I hate these songs in your examples.

:) I don't understand it either... at least AVEX still releases eurobeat music, where other companies stopped back in the early nineties. Farm may have some eurobeat songs on their compilations, but most of those compilations feature other styles as well.

Fully agree with Matteo, changes you can be happy with it or not. Otherwise wait till Santa Claus
But for me personally I'm just happy AVEX still is going on with the SEB CD's! More labels on a disc means different styles (good for the custumor) and yes, I also have my personal desires (for me no nonstop mixes. I prefur a second disc with extra songs (new or old stuff), better that remixes made by the Japanise (I do not like the sampling they do, kills the structure of a song). Again, my though.
I just wanna know how the sales figures are recently? That must be still something for AVEX to continue with this wonderful serie!

Have a nice weekend!

Ronald

Well, clearly neither of you are TIME fans because a lot of the hate is stemming from their expulsion. Are you saying you wouldn't feel a tad irked if your favourite eurobeat label was booted from the series? A lot of the hate is actually justified; nobody's running their mouth off.

Also, a lot of people weren't pleased with Avex's actions before this change of SEB format. There's a topic titled "Avex sucks", which is on the first page. Read that if you don't understand why people are bitter towards them.

Clearly? You're making a wrong assumption here. The music of TIME RECORDS has always been among my favorites.

But TIME isn't TIME anymore as it was before 1994. Before, TIME RECORDS (eurobeat) just was TIME (company). After, TIME RECORDS became only a very small department of TIME. Just check out their home page! Do you see any of the TIME RECORDS (eurobeat) staff members? No, only their dance department is exposed.

I think TIME RECORDS isn't of much interest anymore to TIME, so why would I hate AVEX if TIME by Sergio Dall'Ora is going to be replaced by something like HAVANA By Sergio Dall'Ora? I don't even think TIME cares at all.

Despite all this, I do think that AVEX wants to be in control way too much. I don't like that.

Some questions I'm waiting to be answered before I form an actual opinion:
  • Is this Nonstop format just special for this one album, or is it "the new" format?
  • Why add two labels when removing one when having eight labels could create a "balanced" album with 13 tracks. (Examples already posted. :P)

    And the most important...
  • Will Dall'Ora make me Sugar Baby 2008 even if TIME is gone?
ooh i made a list~ :D
