Certainly seems like a very energy-infused line-up. Delta Queens took me completely by surprise - don't think I've heard a DQ song I've liked the sound of that much since Dance Around The World - looking forward to it! :)

Trying to work out if Mari-San is GoGo's or not - quite hard to tell.

OH GAWD yes.

1. Sounds pretty good with no plus.
2. If the vocals would blend better with the song, it would probably be the best Annalise song...
3. Good song, that's it.
4. Meh.
5. I love this song... and A LOT. Already bought it on JUNO.
6. Doesn't sound quite Eurobeat but it sounds quite exciting.
7. OK ok, didn't expect it to be THAT good.
8. Slower paced Eurobeat but, to me, it sounds better than Gunfire on SEB 181.
9. I have already heard the Saifam preview and make my decision on this one : so-so.
10. That's what I call a badass song.
11. I want vocals that blends with the song not vocals that hides a song. But, the song looks good beside that.
12. I'm just... I'm just... ow... it sounds not so good... Sorry, not this time Go 2.
13. Oh yeah... old school Dave Rodgers without guitars 8)

First impressions...

1. Hello Hello! / Delta Queens: Yeah, really good stuff! A certain hit!
2. Little Desire / Annalise: Above-average for A-Beat C, but it needs more of a beat.
3. Move On Now Baby / Megan: Has the potential to be either really good or just so-so. Production sounds stronger than Let's Go Wild! at least.
4. Baby Don't Leave Me: Very energetic for Rick Castle, not far off from Midnight Lady. Great synth - this sample really surprised me!
5. Can Can World / Makkeroni: Cheesy nonsense with crappy production. Kick The Can by Bus Stop is better - Orpheus is not a song that I want to hear in eurobeat.
6. Secret Destination / Mari-San: This is GGM, hands down. Really liking this so far - its production values are stunning!
7. I Need Your Love 2008 / De Leo: The original song was better, but the new synth melody is pretty nifty.
8. Magical / Matt Land: As soft as I expected, but not bad actually. A pretty strong performance, even with the low-quality production. Miles better than Bad Boys!
9. Vamos A Bailar / Coo Coo: Lol, this seems to be Saifam's response to Vodka, just as Little Don was a response to Bazookistan. Really, really catchy and fun, a lot more unique than Rock 'N Roll and just as strong (if not more).
10. Love Is A Pretender / Pamsy: Pretty standard performance by Pamsy, but still good. Has a very prominent eurodance feel during the sabi.
11. Run Away / Dany: A bit toned down compared to her other releases so far, but I could easily come to love it after having heard the full cut.
12. Spitfire / Go 2: A strong performance by the duo we've all come to love, however something is slightly lacking. It's energy-packed, that's for sure, but I find the vocals to be quite erratic during the chorus. Overall it sounds like Claudio's Spitfire after a very large dose of alcohol.
13. Sun City 2008 / Dave Rodgers: Nice song, but production values can't save it. I'd love to hear the original track, as I bet it sounds a lot stronger.

Overall, this album sounds decent by the samples. A-Beat C is much better than they were on 186, but still don't really offer any true hits. More Delta would've been nice, but I guess we'll get that on 188. This could easily be an improvement over 186, but it's sure not anywhere near 179 or 182.

Am I the only one that loves Spitfire?!

This album appears overall very disappointing (aside from Delta Queens, Mari-San, and Megan)

I really despite this 13 track system...ugh
188 will be better, I know it. :)

I dunno, it seems to me that Castanga is running out of new ideas for this duo, and it really shows in Spitfire. While I do still like the track so far for its strong production, it really seems to lack the originality of Go 2's other performances such as Super Striker and Funky Funlover, and isn't nearly as edged or well-crafted as Not For Sale, Looka Bomba, and Power. SCP's productions honestly have been declining for me lately, and this track surely isn't going to change that.

01. HELLO HELLO! / DELTA QUEENS Iz dat sum older-school soundin'? It's not AMAZING but it's a good way to open (besides the words "Hello hello".
02. LITTLE DESIRE / ANNALISE Iz dat sum MORE older-school soundin'? ABeatC seems to be s-l-o-w-l-y toeing that line of older-school synths that sounded a lot better, and this track seems pretty darn good so far. It's not the next With Your Photograph, but it's not bad either.
03. MOVE ON NOW BABY / MEGAN Whoa. I like this clip a lot. Vocals are nearly immaculate, even though the synth sound sort of annoys me thus far.
04. BABY DON'T LEAVE ME / RICK CASTLE Unusually energetic for Rick; in fact, it doesn't sound like my good 'ol Rick at all. Lyrically it's him, but... this sounds like Girbaudo on Two Monsters/Rockstars and candy. Not a BAD track, but... unusual. This could take some getting used to.
05. CAN CAN WORLD / MAKKERONI Don't like it, it seems to be pandering or almost parodying. Didn't like the original. Sorry, Delta/Whose-ever this is.
06. SECRET DESTINATION / MARI-SAN The vocalist sounds like a generic "Dance Diva", the sabi is pretty much monotone... sorry. One of the lowest points on the album thus far.
07. I NEED YOUR LOVE 2008 / DE LEO LIEK ZOMG COMET RIDERS! Has some good potential, actually. A very nice job contempor-izing an older song. LOVE the synth line so much~!
08. MAGICAL / MATT LAND Unusual for Matt... but I FREAKING LOVE THE SYNTH SOUND IN THE SABI!!! A meh chorus leads into a GREAT ABeatC Sabi. This could be the signs we ABeatC fans have been waiting for! F*** YEAHHH!
09. VAMOS A BAILAR / COO COO Heeheehee. I like this one, though something tells me the chorus is going to be sub-par. I like the sabi on this one too.
10. LOVE IS A PRETENDER / PAMSY Still sounds a tad too trance-y for my tastes. It's a well-produced track, but... just doesn't hit me.
11. RUN AWAY / DANY Dang. Are Eurobeat producers getting nostalgic? I get SEB 110-ish vibes from this one. If the synth sound were more exciting, the Sabi would be gold. VERY close to "great"; for now, it's "Good +".
12. SPITFIRE / GO 2 Tam Arrow called. He wants his song back. That quip aside, I like it. Synth line is GREAT. Chorus is meh. I think I'll like the "real" version.
13. SUN CITY 2008 / DAVE RODGERS 'BOUT FREAKIN' TIME, even if it is a remake. That having been said... I'm not impressed with the soundworld. As well, the synth sound just doesn't give the energy that the sabi CLEARLY meant to deliver. It's not a BAD track but not a GOOD track.
Quite a changeup from the traditional! ABeatC not doing the worst on the album? Rick Castle is too hyper? Dima debut (right?)? I... I may buy this one, (CRAPPY DECISION TO MAKE IT A) 13-track disc status aside.

I am REALLY liking ABeatC's "new" new direction. It's incorporating the new production style that we're clearly going to have to expect, with the old synth sounds that made ABeatC so energetic in years past.
Sinclaire really seems to be getting back into the game, though I just don't think he can produce the same magic that he did when he was rubbing shoulders with Moroni, Newfield & Co. (No pun intended). Clearly he's got some promise; after a few SEB's I think the next Niko track will be excellent.
HRG... I dunno. Mayhaps this wasn't Avex's best choice, but... it's nice to see Rick trying new things.
SAIFAM... is very much "more of the same", which isn't necessarily a totally bad thing. I guess their theory is "if it ain't broke, use it 'till it is, fix it, then use THAT 'till it breaks"... which clearly it hasn't yet.
Delta... is still strong. No complaints. :)
Time... if you ask me, I like how the remake went; it shows some clear insight that they at least have a slight idea of what works and what doesn't in terms of making an old song into a "new" song.
GGM... has disappointed me this time. I hate to rag on this new vocalist, but... where do these labels GET these generic-sounding singers? She hits the notes, no questions asked, but... it's just NOT a unique tone. You could hear the exact same voice on a gajillion other songs, regardless of specific genre of dance.
Dima... which track is his again? Aheheh.

Altogether, a worthwile SEB, assuming that this level of quality was spread all around the other 5 tracks.
A lot's changed in the decade and a half I've been here.

There's no Dima on this compilation; they're making their debut on 188.

Wow! I was not too impressed at all by these samples. Off the back there are 4 songs that blew me away(you know wich ones) and two that could grow on me, but the rest just rubbed me the wrong way. Sounds like a step downhill to me. I keep thinking that with the extra 5 songs , the ratio of songs I would like would be more. :???:

Mini sample reviews.

1. Delta Queens- Hello Hello. This is DELTA paying honour to old skool Italo just 100 x faster. Fierce and powerful.
:)

2. Annalise- Little Desire- Very watered down production. I can't even hear the bassline in that chorus sample. The riff sounds fast, but that's it.
:(

3. Megan- Move On Now Baby- Sounds like vocals mixed too far behind music. Not impressed with Sinclaire's second attempt.
:(

4. Rick Castle- Baby Don't Leave Me. Rick doing the Shadow Of Your Smile melody. Do I like It? Hell YES!!!
:)

5. Makkeroni- Can Can World. I love DELTA, but this is not for me.
:(

6. Mari- San- Secret Destination. The vocalist sounds like those Eurodance artists from England. I hear no Eurobeat melody whatsoever. I hope it's not Go Go's?
:(

7. De Leo- I Need Your Love. I love Christian's aggressive style vocals with each song. That Riff has to be on fire. Hands down my favourite song!
:)

8. Matt Land- Magical. Better than his latest efforts ,but nowhere near as cool as Killer Queen. This one could grow on me.
:)

9. Coo Coo- Vamos A Bailar. Saifam being Saifam. You either like it or you don't. I kinda do.
:)

10.Pamsy- Love is A pretender. More Love Is...titles from SCP. I like the part right after she sings Pretender and that is it. No more Pamsy Transy please.
:(

11. Dany- Run Away. Dall Ora delivers with good ol TIME sound Eurobeaters have learned to love. Nice fast synth. Dahny sounds great!
:)

12. Go 2-Spit Fire. That's it for Go2. This sounds like 4-5 of thier songs put together. boring is my guess.
:(

13. Dave Rodgers- Sun City 2008. I was never really a fan of the original, that revamped synth sounds promising.
:|

13 songs in extended and that's it. To be honest ; half of these songs I don't even want in extended. I'm still not sure weather to buy or not :???:

At least 188 should be 10 x better by the titles alone.

I very like SCP, but now we have too many GO2 and true, they run out of idea. I miss Lisa Lion, Van TK, more Nick Mansell... not just GO2.
