I have been having a lot of trouble opening up E.P. prime this week, but anyway, here is a long overdue Top 20- It's a mix of Old & New Skool this week. I tried something different ala Kasey Kasem Top 40 style. I used to listen to him when I was young. he is the reason I'm so hung up on countdowns. That and because of the voice of Shaggy and Scooby.
Dr. NRG's Top 20 Eurogrooves
1.
David Dima- Save A Prayer(Dima)(1)
...and holding on to the number one spot is a man who has definately made himself heard in 2007 with his smashes Strom Bringer and Tsundere Night, Dima proves there is so much more yet to come. Duran Duran took to number one over 20 years ago and now Dima gives it a whole new fresh sound and dominates the Eurobeat charts for yet another week.
2.
Go2- Hot Vampire(SCP) (4)
This might be Go2's third number one as the former GoGo Girls song is covered by the Go2 boys and jumps up two strong notches to number 2
3.
Vicky Vale- Italo Beat Boy(DELTA) (2)
Nothing can stop Vicky Vale from putting up a strong Eurobeat fight for the Top 3. Another song in the style of Tonight Tonight. Heavy on the Italo vibe and oh so sweet on the melody.
4.
Lou Hunter- A Never Ending Story(Eurogrooves) (5)
Up one notch is new commer Lou Hunter to the Eurobeat scene and quickly gaining ground with this Limahl cover
5.
Disco Vega- Canibal Man(ABeatC)
My highest returning ABeatC classic this week. Mr David SRB singing his heart out and filling Exotic and Erotic dreams of love. Watch out guys and dolls, cuz he is your Canibal Man.
6.
Doctor Bazooka & the Speed McQueens- Tokyo Race(HRG Attack) (6)
Another former # 1 on my playlist is one of my most anticipated songs from HRG Attack just from the title alone. It didn't let me down at all.
7.
Tina Ray- Video Killed The Radio Star(Eurogrooves) (3)
She might drop a bit this week, but still getting over 20 hits on my playlist is Buggles classic sung by newcommer Tina Ray.
8.
Eurogroove- Euronight(Eurogrooves) (9)
The debut song from Eurogrooves is not going down without a fight. Jumping back up one notch is the mega floor filler Euronight.
9.
Joe Foster- Fly High(ABeatC)
More Gino Caria singing a song right from the era when ABeatC was still a force to be reckoned with.
10.
Belik- Dance On Fire(Akyr/Rainbow Dragon Eyes) 18
Jumping back up is newcommers to Eurobeat Rainbow Dragon Eyes and the addicting Dance On Fire.
11.
Robot Man- Big Samurai(Flea)
Rounding off numbers 11-20 is the Gino Craia classic on FLea records. Gino Caria had many hits on FLea label. This is the style I go absolutely crazy for when he sings.
12.
Mara Nell- Sweet Dream Of Love(HRG Attack) 8
HRG's former number one drops out of the Top 10, but proves that MaraNell is a HRG class act.
13.
D-Essex- Sin Of Love(ABeatC)
Co-Written by Gino Caria. This continues to be one of mt favourite D- Essex songs. This week I gave it hard airplay on my P.C.
14.
King Kobra- Sledge Hammer(ABeatC)
David SRB is a 70's star who made a great comeback singing under the title s King Kobra , Disco Vega and DELTA Force at ABEATC. This is a former #1 on my list with a heavy "Heartbreaker" vibe.
15.
Speed McQueen- Speed Control(HRG Attack) (10)
Steve, er, I mean Speed is still one of the hottest songs from HRG attack. It slides down 5 notches to #15
16.
Jimmy Diamond- Space Invader(DELTA) (19)
Richochetting back up is Jimmy with an agressive hot DELTA number that is gaining ground fast
17.
Kevin Johnson- Tonight Tonight(DELTA) (17)
For a third week straight is the latest smash from Mr. Kevin Johnson. Proving the old style is still KING
18.
Big Generation- Fight For Your Rights(TIME)
A one hit wonder reenters at #18. This went to #1 during the 90's and has a heavy Samurai beat sound.
19.
Frank Torpedo- Sex & Dance(TIME)
I was struck with Gino Caria fever this week and reentering the countdown is Gino singing under one of his most famouse aliases at TIME
20.
Marko Polo- Fighter(DELTA) (7)
The countdown starts with the follow up to the top 10 hit Jungle Fever. Taking the dive of the week from 7 to 20 os "Fighter".
