Closure of Velfarre

Post by Toni » 24 Oct 2006, 17:05

Is this true? I've heard this from a friend from the Netherlands... He told me that the last party will be held in December...

This is due to the discontinued rent of the premises of Velfarre...

Can anyone confirm this? (e.g. I'm to lazy to search for it...)

When I saw this, I initially thought this had to be a farce. Then I saw the thread at the ParaParaStage forums.

My hands are shaking. My eyes are blurred with tears. I can't speak for the emotion clawing at my throat.

Were I to put pen to paper and express the anguish that I feel upon receiving word of this, I would write an entire book's worth of sorrow.

AGH! NOES!

I will never get a chance to go to Velfarre before it closes... Let's all hope for the best!

I still have Polish disco's and 80's parties where they spin ItaloDisco and more modern likes...

I wish we could detect sarcasm over the internet. Though, even if it wasn't meant to be it still warrants a "lol" from me. XD

It's sad, but I honestly don't really care because it's not like I'd ever be going there. For the paira paira peoples there's other clubs, plus the parapara scene has been more leaning towards techno parapara from what I've seen. *shrugs*

Guys, Velfarre was were I met my first -real- girlfriend.

That place has a lot of special memories for me. I'm really messed up over this.

It pisses me off because if all went well, I was hoping to get to go for next summer -.- But as you said there's other clubs and I don't think the event of SEF GOLD is dying (or maybe will get a name change?), and I'm really hoping the SEF Allstars stay intact, I adore them.

As for Techpara, I wouldn't say it's necessarily gaining more ground than para, but gaining equality which I think it also deserves.

I'll probably be one of the few old-schoolers crying their eyes out at the SEF next years, wherever it's held...that is, if I do go.

Well there is some awesome news for the closing of Velfarre. There are rumours that there will be a Parapara Allstars reunion at the closing celebration. They've been scattered since 2001.

My question is why doesn't Avex buy the property since alot of their big name artists perform there. Avex has cash coming out of their wazoos.

Totally sucks that we had Twinstar close a while back and now Velfarre. Hopefully 9LoveJ will pick up where the other clubs left off at.

Personally, I'm kind of glad SEF might me moving, in a way. Wataru, you've been to Velfarre right? It's a very nice club, but the dancefloor and platforms...

As for techpara, DRNRG, i think you should stop calling it crap and what have you before you try it. It hasn't lessened eurobeat's popularity at all, in fact it's ALWAYS been popular (See: Juliana's Tokyo). So please stop saying it's crap so often.

Some of us LIKE techno, thank you.
Please don't drop me baby~

Yeah, I know what you mean. What's got me depressed about it is mostly nostalgia on my part and so forth...

Now I don't claim to be a fan of Hyper Techno because it is an acquired taste :P However don't knock down Techpara especially if it is definately more challenging than para for Eurobeat. Here are some links:
