Another simple trick to making a good Eurobeat lead/brass is using a pitch envelope. Most synths should have one, just set the pitch envelope amt. to around 30% or 50% and give it a very fast decay to give it a trumpet-like attack.

Since I've decided to just take a crack at producing Eurobeat, I've been trying to recreate the brass patch from "Virginelle - Hot Love & Emotion" on my D-550 and JV-1080 but I just have no clue how they were made... Since they have a similar structure to the JD-800, I figured that either one of them may be able to produce that sound.

anyone know the name of the patch?

Honestly when I saw somebody say that "I decided that I lacked the composer talent" I simply died a bit inside. The simple fact of it is that all you need is an idea and the patience to create it (and of course the tools). If you have that patience to make that first song they just get easier from there. I'm sure most of the other people here would agree with me.

While you may have absolutely no experience or training/education in the field of music composition, its one of those things you can teach yourself to do with time and self motivation.

If you have the idea your halfway there... The other half is making that idea a reality. If you can think of an entire song in your head then you have the "composer talent".

Now for my own primary basic Eurobeat lead I must say that I use a 3 layered instrument with saws ranging from synths such as toxic biohazard to synth1. Add some res and set the attack high. Not to mention the wave.

Oh yeah, I meant to contribute to this thread but never got around to it. I recently got a Roland JD-990. The Eurobeat lead we all know and love is the "Mr. Brass" patch from the JD-800. You should be able to find this patch converted to JD-990 format by google search, but if not I'll be glad to host it elsewhere. With some modifications to the Mr. Brass preset, you can get a sound nearly identical to some of DJ Command's synth brass. (He does use a JD-990)

For those of you who can't afford to spend money on hardware synthesizers at the moment, I could try to make some samples for anyone that wants them.

Only because it's a compressor that you can barely adjust. Use it whenever it's appropriate, but sometimes you need to be able to change things. I used to use it a lot until I figured out how to work Maximus, it's much more flexible.

Eurobeat brass is a kind of brass, which have very sharp sound, fast decay-attack,high-pitched
if you listen to dj command work, you will see,his brass is very sharp and fat
this is a example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zKbi6NDMpvo

and if you want to get really cool sound like that,it is not so hard
eurobeat brass lead is about multi-layers, it's about 2-3 brass line layered together or more 4 or 5 or 6..so on! just messing around with daw piano roll until you hear right sound.

i made this brass succesfully by using synth1, not sure with another vst i can do the same...but i will try.
commercial synth like sylenth,superwave..sure will provide more sharpness, better sound quality ....
i have less knowledge about synth sound, just try turn the knobs randomly...it's pretty bad! :(

There are many independent producers on the Forums. Some more amateur, some are pros!
