This might be a premature thread as I ; for the first TIME ever see the future of Eurobeat as "up in the air" , but nevertheless it seems to be the word that after the SEB 200 closing, AVEX will try to bring back the slower 90's Eurobeat sound.

How slow are we talking about here? It kinda seems like Super Eurobeat 196 gave a small dose of what that sound could be like.
Are we talknig about more Aishu sounding tracks or some of the more agressive stuff Gino Caria used to sing at ABeatC and TIME

I for one, wouldn't mind a change like that at all, and let's face it the 90's style launched some really unforgetable classics that still haunt our minds.

We would get more songs with less hyped up vocals,. This goes for HRG Attack. We allready saw that they never lose thier aishu touch with Rick Castle songs and the amazing "Stargate"...and how many of us prefer when groups like Ciao Ciao use thier normal vocals?

Dall Ora will never have a problem here as was evident on the SEB 194 entries.and I can still remeber those classic collaborations with Newfield on songs like Go Go Rock Me and Secret Lover. Those were concidered fast for thier TIME. Newfield has also recently produced the mega chartbusters Tonight Tonight and Italo Beat Boy and those were perfect 90's material.

Giancarlo also has the knack for 90's style Eurobeat. as evedent in his older classics at Flea as well as ABeatC.

Mauro Farina would be an interesting case. He wrote some classics in the 80s and 90's , but it might force him to revert to some less chaotic soundworlds.

I would like to see Dima's material here. He is known for mainly fast beats. Same would go for Sinclaire. I can't recall anything slower from him, but he was one third of RCS and Hot Fire was awesome 90's Eurobeat.

here are just a few examples of what kinda style songs I would like to hear. I actually think this idea ,if marketed right; would spark a new interest in both Eurobeat composers, as well as fans.

Mmhh, this means they will release the actual songs from that era, or they ask the labels to create new songs in this style and put them onto the albums? In short, new songs or known old songs will be there?

The 90's approach is a good album concept. But Avex itself was responsible for the evolution and increasing speed of Eurobeat to begin with. Eurobeat is an entirely different creature than it was in earlier days; if they want to try to be nostalgic, that's fine... for ONE album. Any more than 3 and it's not something I can support.

I loved older Eurobeat WAYYY more than the stuff they're putting out now.

I'd love to see them go back to that early style.

I feel like the songs were so much more well written back then and they used a lot of unique chord progressions. It all sounded so much more...right.

Complete opposite for me. Love the recent stuff much better anything before the 170s.

The most i enjoyed SEB was about 80-130 volumes. Oh please, let this be true, bring back the 90's .

I hope that the labels don't stop producing the more modern sound if this shift to the older style is a more permanent thing. Since I didn't start following the series until SEB 156, the "newer" skool sound will always be my true love. Sure I love many, many older Eurobeat tracks from around the 80-120 era, and there are loads of older Hi-NRG Attack tracks that I can dig, I really hope that the styles and sounds of the past few years aren't forgotten...

But anyway - has there been any posts or news from Avex that the sound post-200 will be a permanent thing? Until we have confirmed news, I'm going to hold off from forming a full opinion.

I just hope that isn't a way for AVEX to get our hopes up and then not deliver at the last minute. They are notoriously known for being "indian Givers" especially with the Westerners(reffering to the removal of DELTA from Juno and Mumo extendeds)

An ode to the classic 90's Eurobeat is just the right kinda boost the market needs. Frank Torpedo -Bang bang, Robert Stone- Pocket TIME. Mike Hammer- Heartbreaker, Maio & Co- Dark In The Night. These songs initiated the Eurobeat Boom, so I would love a few cds with these styles. At the same TIME there is another side of me that longs for the Hurrican Mans and Hello Hellos aggressive and fast bpms

I have a feeling it won't be going back to the early 90s style but mid to late 90s.

If this were the case I'd actually be extremely excited for the change - not only would the genre itself remain technically unchanged, the songs themselves could be drastically improved. The major difference I notice between songs of the late 90's and now is that I love older songs the more I listen to them, whereas most newer eurobeat impresses me drastically upon a first impression but loses its replay value extremely quickly (certainly not all songs are like this, but you get the idea).

Exactly! That's what I feel too.
I'd love to hear some late 90's Eurobeat again.

The good old songs I like are pretty rare... lately I bought SEB 91 to get the second disc that had a gem that I always liked : "Walkie Talkie" by King Kong & D. Jungle Girls but the first disc... it wasn't great at all... all songs were a little over average to mediocre.

Well, I'm in the new generation of songs since I really started to follow SEB since SEB 170.

I am also from the new generation SEB listeners , so i really like Eurobeat for the new sounds (170-190's).
But still , i love both styles. The crisp sound from the early days of SEB is just plain awesome , while the newer SEB sounds very J-Pop and Electro influenced and also recorded digitally , but still has the Italo vibe to it.
Either way , i would be happy if the labels start to record analog again and have the great sound from the early days!
Though if the songs all sound like Jay Lehr , then i will cry

Jay's sound is absolutely amazing, and I'd love to hear much much more songs from this guy
