Synth1 patch guide - Eurob sounds [UPDATED 29/11/14]

Post by KoolKool » 23 Sep 2014, 13:44

OK! I have made some patches in synth1,tried to recreate some specific sounds of the genre..i hope they can provide a little useful to your music work...
(I'm lazy to make demo, you should try yourself, and maybe give me some feedback to improve the patch) :)

i have edited whole thread,my every posts for replacing many patches i re-improved.... (29/11/14)

*First is brass sound....
Type I Japanese community usually called it "EUROSAW"...

Type II

Phaser Brass Brass sound with phaser effect applied...rare sound in eurobeat, but it's featured in the beginning of track "Hot Blade - Power Two"...this sound can provide some interesting feeling to your mix.. :)

Image

Sub-low brass a quite useful sound, stack it with brass type I&II, to add "trance-lead-like" effect to the brass.... "Night of Fire" is a big example..

i'm still trying to figure out the brass in "Nathalie - Hearbeat"! if any one can help!

to be continued.... :)

Code: Select all

I made a soundbank with 118 patches,some old 80s,90s sounds.
.i hope you guy like it,can be quite helpful for the genre

There's some lowpass filter action going on in Heartbeat's riff, you can hear the resonance especially at the end of the longer held notes. I would try tweaking the Dulcimer preset or grabbing a light brass, then messing with the filter envelope to get that stabbier sound.

BASS
Bass is very important element in EDM...so eurobeat is...but eurobeat is not like trance, drum n bass..the bass sound in eurobeat doesn't need to be too complicated...a simple FM bass will work! (most eurobeat track used similar, same bass sound..)

well! this is my setting...maybe you have different way...

now, story about arp, basically, programming arp manually is still a much better option (more controllable) than using built in arp effect in synth

i made some arps for anyone interest
