Sonia (PWL) and Dave Rodgers?

Post by euromania!! » 20 Jan 2005, 06:47

Hi all
Does anyone know if Sonia has signed to Dave Rodgers or AVEX in Japan?
It seems strange that she would appear on the Nuage album without something like this.

Anyone know?
Thanks

I don't think Sonia signed to A Beat C. I bet it was just a quick recording done since Nuage did a cover of Never Stop Me From Loving You. It would be fantastic if she did record more songs with Mr. Rodgers.

I think the same but wasn't there an artist known as Sonia on A-Beat C before? I think she was on Euromach

They spelled her name as Sonya with a Y and she was a number of different singers, including Norma Sheffield.

Actually Sonya or Sonia was on (I think) MAHARADJA volume 23 with a track produced by ABEATC.

Vadim:It is supposed to be the first colloboration of pwl artist with A b C,
that is presented on nuage release,or so I seem to currently think.
Sonya was indeed one of typical A b C nicks,I don't recall hearing any pwl singers on it though, for one- Gatti sang on it for sure. PWL is also very different in their sound than Eurobeat Houses. With latter current bpm drop it may seem that it's more like pwl in 90-s,but I.M.S.H.O. they actually just take cue from dance pop(or is it j-pop?).

There are 7 Sonya songs produced by Dave Rodgers (and Bratt Sinclaire):

Close Your Eyes (sung by Francesca Contini)
Hello Hey Hi (Contini again)
It's A Miracle (Unknown, my fav. Sonya single)
My Eyes On You (unknown)
Night Is The Night (Unknown possibly Francesca)
Takin' Chances (Francesca)
Tell Me Why (Francesca)

That is most likely the case... Sonia's real name is... Sonia Evans and she is from Liverpool in th UK. And she came out with You'll Never Stop Me From Lovin' You in 1989..
also Sonia's version totally owns Nuage's version.

Is Sonia the same person who sung "Manic Monday" (which by the way is non-Eurobeat)?
