You are all NOT gonna believe this: Legendary Eurobeat DJ Mitsugu Matsumoto (Red Monster) has passed away....Apparently he was one of my Facebook friends. I have befriended him before his death.

Nooooooo!

I remember his mix of the song by Roll Days best, it was really beautiful. This is awful news.

That was a good series, I really liked it. Have them on my phone.

This is the remix I'm talking about, by the way.

OH MY GOD.
A legend has gone. The last two pages of SEB's booklet will disappear. His last words are in SEB 243 for everyb- I mean, for every Japanese to read (they were never translated). Or maybe 244? Maybe he had the time to write it? But one thing's sure; one of the two are his last written words.

Goddamn. That's the biggest loss in the Eurobeat world since Gino Caria.

Continue eurobeatin' in the afterlife, dear Matsumoto Mitsugu-san. We will miss you. Dearly.
All my condolences to the family.

For sure special DJ of the club music history in Japan, who was present while opening first Maharaja discotheques in 1982, who was witness of any ever known Eurobeat sound and its evolution.

It's enough to browse where his name appears and since when. He was born in 1948 if I'm not wrong.

I remember seeing his name on some of my vinyls. It's always sad to lose someone from the beloved Italo/Eurobeat genre

We have lost 3 producers and artists:

1. Gino Caria, 1997 (~45 years old)

2. Massimo Brancaccio, Max Coveri, 2005 (40 years old)

3. Florian Fadinger, 2012 (51 years old)

This isn't so related to Italo-Eurobeat, but is connected to the japanese EDM Scene, since most of his songs and mixes were together with Eurobeat and Eurodance songs and he worked with Farm Records.

Kousuke Okamoto (DJ Kousuke, Oriental Space), February 2008 (31 years old)
