What was "Best of Beats"?

Hey guys, I'm curious since I read the title here and there.
What actually was Best of Beats? It looked like a tournament between songs with an own website for voting(?).
I'm curious because I found Eurobeat in 2010 and joined the forum later.

It was a system with various categories and voting that lasted on each stage for a day or so to determine winners. It worked out fine at the start, but in the end the amount of votes was so small that it didn't really seem logical to keep it going on. When most options had the same amount of votes (which was around 2-5) it kinda had little meaning to actually win in it.

The year after we quit that here I made a seperate website where at the end of the year you could vote for your favorite eurobeat tracks of the year. I did it once, and the year after there wasn't enough people voting so I stopped as well.
I still have the domain registered though. And it's waaaaay outdated. :')!

Maybe we can revive the website and use it for annually votings. Maybe we can make the "Best of 20xx guessing game" there, too. :3

I was thinking about this. I could make a voting site, Multilangual (including japanese) and acessible, and with the most chosen songs,maybe do a non-stop remix "The most-voted of 20XX."
And use this as data. Most listened per Country, per Genre, per Label, ParaPara? Initial D? Firestep?... Everything about it can be used, it's data.
Even labels can use the data to understand their own market.
(I thought about this when someone told me "why don't you make a "best of world non-stop", every section is a different country?", and i don't even know what, for example, USA folks listens)

But they don't. Mostly ParaPara Brasil ex-member hate forums.

Is there a programmer here? I know a bit of back-ending and node.js with passport, and front-end, PHP/HTML/CSS

Apparently not getting the point...saying if you want a good pool of data, you can link a survey to FB groups as well as here. I can tell you that there's a lot of people on FB groups that used to be on here. I can say that because I've been on here for 12 years.

If this has a good pool of respondant, this can be a good way for me to make my best eurobeat mix of the year. You know, instead of choosing the I like, it's a vote of lots of people that does.
