Virginia Toy - Harmony discussion...

Hi Panu and everybody,

In your review of the SEB 119 you wrote:

Bore wrote:15.Virginia Toy - Harmony (Delta)
I would really like to know why Clara Moroni has to use so many different aliases. At first I didn't even pay attention to them, but after I found out that she's the main vocalist on nearly all of the Delta productions I began hearing her in every song with female vocals. This song is pretty much your standard eurobeat on most levels, the real difference is the c-melody that sounds more acoustic than what we usually get from Delta, and it works really well. The chorus reminds me of some other eurobeat song but I just can't point out which one. Not bad, but not very good either.
Rating : 7-
Well, I know that the powelful voice of Clara is capable to sing many varieties of voices; this is her main characteristic. I listened the song a lot of times... but I don't found her voice as lead vocal in this song.... I found the voice of Clara in the minute 2:50" to 3:00" as background vocal...

Please correct me if I'm wrong...

however in Virginia Toy - Away From You to me is clearly the voice of Clara :)

By the way my overal rating for this song is 8+

....because she's the one!
Bore wrote:15.Stephy Martini - Fall In Love (Delta)
The vocals are definitely by somebody else than Clara this time but I have no clue who the vocalist is, and I am still confused about the amount of different female vocalists on Delta.
...found again the voice of Clara as back vocals in the minute 2:46" to 2:57"

Thanks in advanced,
Pol

Ciao Laurent!

THANKS!!! :D ...hmm I'm not wrong :o ...my ear still works

This afternoon I have listened to Riky Maltese - "Rainy Day" from ..1987!!! provably you don't remember who is the female singer of the background; I think she's Clara but I'm not 100% sure, too difficult...

Best regards,
Pol

I remember the day we did this song coz the singer was such a nice person.
Clara do the bgv,I think so.It's sometimes hard to find out coz we use to record many songs with clara and mauro doing bgv together, that's why it sounds strange to you.

Pol, it's clearly a problem that many people have with eurobeat. They cannot distinguish one voice from another, or assume it is the same voice as another. I think it takes a skillful ear to determine which artists are the same vocals.

For example, for a long time many people thought Mickey B. = Karen. Also, many people were under the impression that Clara did *all* of the female vocals on Delta. It might sound stupid to people with a good ear and knowledge, but there are many eurobeat fans until today that claim to be knowledgable yet cannot tell voices apart.

A whole lot of the reviews I've done/written are way outdated and that's an unfortunate fact. Way before I really got into the scene and really paid any attention to vocalists or the whole division between different names I had no clue about anything. I've stated the weirdest things in the earliest reviews I've done and it's mostly just amusing to read them through.

The same problem is present with the database when vocalists are determined, full of problems that are assumed/pointed out by people, but without any confirmation of things they'll remain unsolved. On multiple occasions I've turned straight to the recordlabels about questions regarding vocalists and such, but I'm fully aware that redoing reviews for one wouldn't hurt, but then again, the original point might get lost.

Managing a site with this much content is bound to have false information along, but with what's available: That is what is also offered.

Hi Laurent,

Such an interesting fact! Never Fall In Love by Dany L. is REALLY a great song, full of the essence of '80s sound style in everything like the drum patterns, base patterns and percussions, reminiscent of the golden age of PWL. So the vocalist's full name is Daniel Levin, right?

Oh, and grazie mille per il sito web di Stefania!

Saluti :D

Hi taQ

I know very well your point of view; I'm deep in the voice of Clara and when I read mistaken information, it drives me crazy... it make hesitate thinking I'm wrong :? but we are here in order to give our knowledge and help the people who don't know the true.

Dear Panu,

First of all, your work towards the Eurobeat are greatly appreciated! you are one of the few persons who has dedicated countless hours during the last years to promote the Eurobeat, don't worry if you wrote wrong information, we are here to give our help to your important job.

...because only the music survives

Buona mattina Laurent

To me one of the best duets ever... Elena and Clara, Clara and Elena; they are my favourite singers and I'm designing a T-Shirt of Gipsy & Queen, no joke... it's true :D Always Elena has been one of the most important artist on Time Records, it would be better to say.. one of the most important artist in the Italodisco story. She has had an imporatante influence in the biography of Clara but... I never saw her in concert and I have never been able to contact with her; I wrote to Mr. Giacomo, I wrote to SIAE, I wrote to all Italodisco and Eurobeat forums ..but nothing to do :( I'm desperate... Since you are not working by Time Records, I know that is not easy for you to reach her but if you have a chance, please keep in touch, you are my last hope...

All the best!
Pol

PS: I suppose that the girl of below is a model, she's not Elena ...isn't it?

Many thanks Laurent for this kind of info about old productions and the new material (like Queen 26).
Personal it's very special to find an Eurobeat producer on a forum.
I hope one day it would be possible to meet you in person (with Marcello) and have perhaps that mushroom pizza in Brescia!!

Arriverdeci!

Ronald from the Netherlands.

I know exactly what you mean, except my obsession is with Sandra, not Clara ;) It drives me insane whenever someone tells me Domino isn't in a song when it's 110% obvious she is to my ears, then I force myself to listen to said song over and over to validate my findings. It's pretty silly, I know, but I guess it takes a huge fan to get to the point where they can distinguish certain people's vocals in this music. :)
