A few words on duets

8) My topic is about the amount of duets springing out of SEBs lately. Now even TIME is doing this crap. Are these songs actually popular? Is thier some cool para para Style dance to them...I think not?I really can't see anyone dancing to Rainin' In My Heart(Wich was Awefull) in my opinion. The sound is just too mushy for me....and who said a duet has to be slow? Remember "Never Again"-Micky B. that was not credited as a duet, but you could clearly hear Dave Rodgers vocals in backround. That was a great song. How about mor like these style male/female, but in the style of GoTo songs. That would be awesome. Try it in a HRG Attack agressive style song. One verse Franz-Second Verse Bazzoka Girl and chorus both. I think that would be a good duet. What do you guys and girls have to say??

I Love the duets and Rainin' In My Heart is awesome, I don't think they make parapara routines on whether it is a duet or not (I liek RIMH's routine :( ) . What I don't care for eurobeat is constantly rehashed melodies ::cough:: TIME in the 150s ::cough::

8) Javeemon, I'm sure your favotite song from SCP is not Rainin' In My Heart. You can't even begin to compare that to Not 4 Sale. The world of Eurobeat would be much better without duets. Pretty soon we have radio top 40 hits on our SEB. They are not all bad. For instance I love Dee/Regina song and "I bElieve In You" dave & karen, but some should never have been made. I'm saying the labels should get a hold of themselves and leave this kind of music to Maraih Carry and Kelly Clarckson. Back in the 90's we did not have duets but rather both Male/female singing at same time. For ex: Mari Bells songs on TIME. It worked well like that...and the music was not mushy.

I hate the sound of Only For Love... and similar styles of song, but I think you're making a sweeping generalisation about male/female duets. I will give you only two examples from recent SEBs that will change your mind about male/female duets and their suitability for SEB...

1. Pamsy & Ace - 2love, 4love (quite probably the best duet ever, if not the best Eurobeat track ever (I know a lot of people will disagree with this last comment, but I love it soooo much!))

2. Van TK and Kiki & Fancy - Make Your Move (similar to 2love, 4love but different. A great vocal melody teamed with an odd, yet great sounding couple made this a hit for me)

So while I think that mush like Memories and Feelings and Only For Love... (from what I've heard) can vanish off the face of this Earth for all I care, duets can provide stunning Eurobeat tracks that will be celebrated as classics for years and years ;)

I prefer Rainin' In My Heart over Not For Sale... and for the record my favorite SCP song to date is Melissa White & Ace - The Poison Of Love

I agree. Rainin' in my Heart was really good. I love duets. The problem is that we're getting the same artists doing duets. I like Go2 and some duets that Dave Rodgers has had in the past, but here are a few dream teams I'd like to see.

Powerful T. + Matt Land
Nick Mansell + Van T.K.
Norma Sheffield + Anyone but Dave

I like the idea of the Franz Tornado/Bazooka Girl, though. That sounds like it'd have serious potential.

I think duets are a nice addition to the SEB compellation series! So far, all of the labels have released good songs with duets; I hope they continue to at a fair pace.

Gee whiz!! Wait! If you mean "No Choice At Random" and "Passion Hot Emotion" by Marie Belle, I must say the vocals were done by ONLY Clara singing both in an undertone and in an overtone. Poor Clara...
someone takes your normal voice as male one.

8) Wow she really did sound like male vocals in her undertone. My mistake....But it soundded great anyway. :D Aside from "Rainin In My Heart SCP does make decent duets, but I still prefer my duets to sound like SuperMaio

Well, Lucya & Ace - Memories & Feelings is one of the new tracks I like most - and it is a duet. But the others do not really work for me.

I really like the old SAIFAM duets (Time, Asia, FCF) of for example Daniela Rando/Clara Moroni/Elena Ferretti duets, but also the great male backing vocal chords of Farina combined with female lead vocals (or the other way round). I think their vocal arrangements have always been the best. I would like to hear that type in new songs

Hi drnrg,

Nice topic, to me these are the best Eurobeat singers ever singing as a duet...

CLARA MORONI + MAURO FARINA
CLARA MORONI + FEDERICO DI BONAVENTURA
CLARA MORONI + ELENA FERRETTI
CLARA MORONI + MAX COVERI
CLARA MORONI + B. MALTESE (Riky Maltese) unknown the real name
CLARA MORONI + GIANCARLO PASQUINI
CLARA MORONI + LUIGI VICINI
CLARA MORONI + MAURIZIO DI IORIO
CLARA MORONI + DAVIDE BRUDIESI

ciao!
Pol

It has happened.

Norma Sheffield & Virginelle - You Are My Happiness

Yeah, I know. But for the tons of songs that Norma Sheffield has had in her career, I would have like to have seen more than just that one and the few Dave ones.

8) Questions For Pol NRG:
On the artist Phil & Stan? Where they ever two guys singing or just one. I believe one was Luigi Vincini, but who was the other? Also who was the female singer on Flea's "Reason To Love" by Bella & Blue. I think the male was Claudio Magnani? Flea changed the original male vocals of Giancarlo Pasquinni(Dave Rodgers)
...and for the record my favorite duet goes way back to early 90's
Time records Chester on the song "Don't Get Way" on side two Giancarlo and his female companion actually get to sing a different verse each. was it Clara on vocals?

Hi, I'm not Pol, but I can answer this one:
drnrg wrote:8) Questions For Pol NRG:

That's Manuela Gubinelli a.k.a. Taleesa. She sung more Flea songs those days. Reason To Love is a great song!
