Anyway, since I'm so bitter about music quality I decided to do some tests with iTunes, encoding some (original/lossless) eurobeat to their default flavor of AAC, particularily HRG stuff. The results were much better than @Music's junk, I'd put it around 160CBR ish-mp3 quality, but that isn't saying...

and what quality are they? I need full frequency I think I wait for the cd release. A tracklist would be nice... :lol: iTunes is 128kbit AAC/MP4 if I'm not mistaken. AAC is more advanced than mp3, but it's not going to be a huge difference at 128kbit, I'm pretty sure iTunes allows you to convert to...

from the producer side an mp3 sound very different from original mix. Stereo panning is wider and there is a big loss of bass freq.,even lead vocals sounds lower,and I don't think you can hear the 20kHz eq. we do on the mastering. An mp3 is around 4-5 Mb of data,original Aiff or Wav mix is 50-60Mb....

Maybe for you it's not good enough but the majority just wants a version good enough to enjoy the song and aren't so anal about quality and I've heard rips from @music and they just sound fine. And consumer demands and download speed ARE plausible because if they have tons of people downloading lar...

No one can 'force' you into a media format. They're all interchangeable, yknow. It's as simple as using audio editing software and re-saving the file as a different format. If everythng goes well, there shouldn't be any loss in quality. Ever listen to a Hi-NRG Attack song from @Music? yeah ... 128k...

to be honest,I had talk today with a digital distribution company... While I'm not sure how others feel, and don't know much about the business end of it. Seriousily consider before buying into a propriety (DRM/locked) format, look at @music, that's a nice service but the songs are VERY low quality...

It's "OK", especially if you like that genre. I can't really distinguish the "euro"/eurobeat remixes from the originals, though perhaps I'm tone-deaf. Jacynthe - Piu Bella Cosa (Euro Passion Mix) is a nice novelty favorite of mine though, makes me want to hear some spanish eurobe...

Obligatory Initial D angle ... I think if Initial D Fourth Stage was licensed, and the dub track kept the eurobeat ... it might get some attention. Unlike the other seasons, there's lots of great hard hitting, technoish-rockish tracks presented in that show, ... lots of people in the anime communiti...
