'meh' (generally) means a mediocre feeling toward something. Not having any enthusiasm for or toward it, and leaving you with a blank feeling.

I hope other people agree with that definiton, because that's how everyone I know uses it.
Meh.

:P
I prefer Bleh myself :P
For me, "bleh" is below "meh". Bleh seems to imply a negative feeling towards it, but meh is just general apathy. It's the "b" that does it.

"Meh"

Post by beat freak » 08 Jul 2006, 19:30

Meh was popularized by The Simpsons. They were trying to get a catch phrase for Lisa Simpson since all the other characters had one.

Meh is how I would describe most eurobeat lately. The Sophie song though is definately hot though. Hope they keep up this new old sound.

SEB169's tracklist seemed very lacking so I didn't buy the album... but seeing Sophie's Driving In The Night is a cover of Havana's (OMG!!!! XD) I ordered the album. XD It's combined with my SEB170 order so I won't get it till 170 is released. ummm omg i cant wait to hear it :D

Dunno where all the fuss about Drive In The Night is coming from, it sounds like a relatively basic Time faire to my ears. It's not bad at all, but it's nothing I would really listen to a lot either.
Above the general Time level, Sure.
Above the great level of eurobeat in general, no way.

But either way... I didn't really enjoy 169 all that much, could only say I really loved Big Heart, Roly Poly Rock, Say Yeah and If You Ever Leave Me.

I didn't like the Sophie song that much. Neo and Alvin were sort of okay on SEB169... I was hoping the SEB16x series were up to something good, but the last release was just a weak one... I think Eurobeat is losing it's energy nowadays.

Anyway, the Ivan B. - Laser Light was one of the best songs that was released lately! I loved the original, and the remix is even better! How good's that? ("I don't mind! I don't care!")

Eh, for me the Sophie song is like Pride. A *really* good song for Time, but about average for where most of the other labels are. And 169 for me is one of the better ones this decade.

8) SEB 169 sounds really exceptional. I don't know why so many "meh" attitude? Time was great, HRG Gave us not one, but two Mega Fast Festari songs :D Saifam Blew me away with Alvin and Bombers. DELTA's two songs were a great compared to previous vols. ..and Even SCP presented great songs. AbeatC was a bit week, Except Neo(That Rules)...and maybe since the majority on this forum is AbeatC fans( I base this on the Eurobeat battles game) are not too pleased with this comp. The usual Dave and Go Go Girls songs are missing, and we havn't had any new Mega NRG Man, Matt Land or Manuel. Also no Fastway nor Ace, only in Group effort. This might have something to do with it making it a weeker Cd for most of you? In fact I have kinda notice this in the last previous vols. Not no more 6 AbeatC songs, but a variety of different styles of Eurobeat. a Much better progress :D
I heard 13 great songs. Normally I get 9-10 hits per SEB. That makes it worth the price for me. This TIME around, I got 13 ,because SCP so good. It would have easily been one of my favs from the 160's if AVEX had inserted Manuel- Sun In The Rain(167) and Nick key- Black Is The Night(168) and For good female measure Mel Rose- Burning Highway, instead of those other 3 songs.

To put it this way, 169 wasn't what I was expecting at all, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. I can say that this is one CD that grows on you over time, and while most of the songs have grown on me poor Sophie just won't be getting any love from me.

But overall, great variety from the labels =)

I sure hope I'm not alone in the thought that I thought it was the worst song on 169... :?

I'm still not sure what to think of it. On one hand it is very nice song, but on the other hand I think it is rather cheesy. It sounds like early nineties TIME, which is a good thing, while lacking the powerful sounds of those days. And that's a pity.
