As for why SEB has lasted 17 years and counting:
Eurobeat has proven to be a very flexible, dynamic genre. While the basics remain the same, insofar as you can hear the similarities between Boom Boom Dollar and... um... Moo Moo Dollar (old to new), the subtler details have been modified to suit the tastes of the times. Thusly, people continue to buy the albums, and even if that market is dying down, there will still always be a group of people helping AVEX keep the bank full.
SEB, like Eurmach once was, is a well engineered compilation. The strongest tracks to the producers at the time are picked, and although their judgement has been skewed before, for the most part they prove accurate in their judgement in terms of whom will buy what. ('cept, Euromach seemed to be MUCH better. Maybe the balance of HRG to other labels had something to do with it, hmmm?)
SEBs Longevity
One of the main issues to discuss is really, if any other "compilation" series really compare to Super Eurobeat, since SEB ain't just a compilation, but provides new songs exclusively produced for that series.
I don't think any other series with actual new material has gone on for this long, and frankly, I don't think actual compilation-only series are worth mentioning in any record book, as anyone can just pick up 10,000 pop hits over the last decades and call it a compilation.

That is a good point. Most compilations consist of songs that allready exsist on another form. In the beggining the SEB series contained music that was allready on 12' formatt, but ABEATC started producing songs especially for the series. Songs like Simon Westly- Hot Stuff and Rick Wild- Animal Man ,never appeared in any other form, besides cd and up untill now, as you allready mentioned, the series has exsisted because of newly produced music made especially for the series.
