Super Eurobeat 181
1. Jungle Fever / Marko Polo: 8½
Not Marko Polo's best release to date unfortunately, but still fairly decent. It lacks the soul and energy of other album openers, but the pianos do give it a fairly unique edge. The verse is good, but the chorus is average. Solid, but not the song that should've opened an entire new decade of Super Eurobeat.
2. BLOOD on FIRE / Go 2 & Christine: 10+++++
Go 2 and Christine, two of my favorite eurobeat acts, finally merge together to present of of SCP's top performances ever. A eurobeat cover that's new and interesting while still executing all of its elements outstandingly. It packs an amazing punch, combines all 3 vocalists effectively, and doesn't need to rely on a complex c-melody to maintain its power-packed edge for the duration of the song. Clearly the highlight of Super Eurobeat 181, and possibly even the 180's decade in general unless something is able to top it, which I highly doubt unless Go 2 & Christine reunite for another groundbreaking performance. It was all worth the 10-album wait; this is, without a doubt, the best Go 2 track to date. I want more eurobeat like this.
3. My Heart Radio / Daniel: 8+
Wasn't expecting anything like this from Daniel after all 3 of his speedy performances to date. Anyway, this track was a nice change for the time being, but it fails to live up to the level of Frontal Impact and Bach Is Back, although it's better than One More Try. Catchy and unique, just as I like my Delta, but once again the chorus is fairly mediocre.
4. Love Desire 2007 / Linda: 7+
Unfortunately not one of the better TIME covers to date in its entirety. There's nothing wrong with it, but it just seems like the same typical material recycled all over again. Average TIME.
5. Back In Danger / Jeff Driller: 8+
Shares many elements with Danger In Chinatown, yet isn't quite as good as that track, though is still solid nonetheless. I stand by the fact that Jeff Driller isn't Rimonti's strongest alias, and it still shows here, but luckily this is one of his better performances, though it still fails to live up to the sheer quality of Chica Loca, which is definitely the peak of all of Mr. Driller's performances. The major elements are all solid, but it doesn't have the aggression of other HRG tracks to be truly memorable.
6. Abracadabra / Cherry: 9+
Delta hasn't performed their best on this album compared to their previous entries, but Clara still holds the flag high with one of her best covers to date. Delta continues to shine on their production, and manages to execute the vocals to flow excellently with the music for the most part. I still think the chorus doesn't really lend itself to eurobeat, but overall this was a great package!
7. Beautiful / Alexis: 7-
Meh, definitely not a song that lives up to the solid Ferretti performance that was One Night In Tokyo back on 172. It should please any fans of this type of airy eurobeat, as the chorus actually has a pretty nice melody, but otherwise it's forgettable at best.
8. Lovers In The Night / Maddy Lane: 9½
Hi-NRG Attack keeps up their excellent level with another great female performance following the very catchy track from SEB 178, Hot Gal. The vocals sound great from start to finish as usual for HRG, and overall the production and melody felt very complete and memorable. I really liked the chimes in particular. The c-melody isn't anything to write home about, but there's still nothing here that went completely wrong.
9. Take A Frame / Chris Stanton: 8-
Alright, I'll give this track a bigger nod after hearing its full version, as the disco elements frequently appearing in TIME's recent tracks causes it to be fairly likeable. Still, the melody and vocals are nothing exciting, but it's nonetheless a nice little track that serves its purpose well.
10. I'm Alive / Jay Lehr: 9½
Like most other people, I wasn't looking forward to this track at first because Mystic Love was a mediocre performance, but I was also surprised by how nicely it turned out. It takes the elements of old school eurobeat (by that, I mean the SEB 0's-20's era) but polishes them up with a touch of SCP genuinity. A very diverse and performance by the label's newest title with great vocals and lyrics, after this I think Jay Lehr is now definitely welcome to the SCP lineup.
11. My Blue Sky / Nuage: 7+
To those who are creeped out by the intro of this track, seriously people, Sunday. Anyway, I was not impressed by the sample of this track, but seeing how Nuage has always been one of my favorite female performers, My Blue Sky really wasn't that bad in its entirety. It still has absolutely nothing on classics like Sunday and I Just Want To Keep You Hangin' On, but A-Beat C still does what they have left to retain to her typical style for the better. It doesn't stand out as a whole, but the melody and vocals still give me a warm feeling inside.
12. True Colour / Annalise: 5½
Unfortunately for Mr. Rodgers, Annalise doesn't generate the happiness that Nuage can, even over a label whose production has gone down the drain since the beginning of 2007. Don't really have much to say about this other than the fact that it's a fairly wimpy performance with nothing memorable to keep. It reminded me somewhat of 173's Screaming, but at least that track had somewhat of an edge to it that made it catchy.
13. Over The Sky / Rose: 5
3 Elena Ferretti tracks on one album is just wrong. While she can definitely pull off some excellent performances every once and a while, her usual theme becomes sleep-inducing and repetitive even in small doses. Beautiful was at least fairly pretty; this is just basic TIME filler with nothing to hold on to or enjoy. Yawn.
14. Catch My Fire / Mega NRG Man: 6+
Meh again, what a letdown that Tomas had to come back to A-Beat C just when I thought I Feel The Rhythm Tonight would be his last song at Rodgers' studio. Nothing to get excited about here, as the production and chorus are both subpar. Mega NRG Man is a great performer, but here he just fails to display his soul and energy that showed up in many of his past performances, even I Feel The Rhythm Tonight.
15. Dance / King & Queen: 5½
No energy from A-Beat C anymore. I actually think this would've turned out quite nicely with some great backup, but no, it has to suffer that lame tranciness that ruins almost everything Dave Rodgers puts out nowadays. Annerly's vocals fail to put much life into an already mediocre track, and basically I'm ultimately left cold and bored after hearing it. A-Beat deserves a tomato for this awful performance.
16. Gunfire / Matt Land: 9-
Matteo has definitely been the height of A-Beat C's male acts in the past, so his 3-decade absence was a true shame for the label's level of greatness, but he's finally back with another track that retains to the classic elements that made him a star years ago. A-Beat C's production can't do much to empower it to the same level as Fever The Night or Captain Fantastic, but it's nice to know that Matt Land's still going as strong as ever with the best of his abilities. If only he would produce something at Go Go's Music...
17. Gas Gas Gas / Manuel: 10+++++
...that was as awesomely fantastic as this right here. Wow AVEX, are you really knocking off all the possible space for Domino's label in favor of filler by Lame-Beat C (as they deserve to be called nowadays)? You guys really deserve to be slapped for that. The minute I heard this track, I was simply astonished. I thought Ready Steady Go! was the height of Manuel's incredible talent, but with Gas Gas Gas, I felt like I was listening to a fiercesome thunderstorm combined with all the elements to make a great eurobeat track. Manuel is always able to project loads of energy and oomph into his performances, but put his vocals together with a powerful bass, energetic synths, and plenty of guitars to back everything up, and you get at least one of the most groundbreaking and memorable eurobeat productions ever created in history. I was impressed by Go Go's Music right from the start, but I never knew they could put out music this incredible. Clearly they deserve a lot more room on Super Eurobeat albums; if they keep this up, it won't be long before they replace Delta and Hi-NRG Attack as my favorite eurobeat label.
18. NRG / Go 2: 10++
Saying this isn't quite Go 2's best performance to date sure isn't saying much. I admit that I wasn't blown away by this track at first, but listening to it over and over again, it's definitely grown on me to the point where it is in fact one of the group's better releases. It's not going to top BLOOD on FIRE, but it still proves that Ace and Fastway can really pull off quite a show when combined together. The chorus is just a bit repetitive, but there's so much edge to this track that it hardly matters. You'll still be in for quite a ride. I'm practically convinced Go 2 would be popular if their music were released over here in America, where nobody knows about eurobeat except from DDR and Initial D.
MY OVERALL IMPRESSION: Even with a few duds from the labels that don't really deserve to appear on the series anymore, there are enough standouts from my favorite acts that it's still a compilation undoubtedly worth getting. The top 2 tracks here are already far better than anything released during the 170's, and even most of the other performances keep up the strong level that Super Eurobeat has maintainted lately. You certainly can't go wrong with an album that contains not one, but two of Go 2's top performances to date, and even Manuel proves to be a competitor to them with his awesome track. If only AVEX would drop A-Beat C and TIME (or at least reduce their number of tracks to far less than half the album), they'd be hitting the jackpot with every release of Super Eurobeat.
FINAL SCORE: 9-
Not Marko Polo's best release to date unfortunately, but still fairly decent. It lacks the soul and energy of other album openers, but the pianos do give it a fairly unique edge. My actual review...no good, meh, and ugly grading system
1. JUNGLE FEVER/ MARKO POLO ( 8 )
One of the thing that I'm most disappointed with in this song is that Daniel has taken over this alias. Not that that's a bad thing, but I wish Niko would come back to cover the vocals like he originally did. It's nice to hear Delta getting back on their feet in the past year (Just look at "Frontal Impact", "Damn Damn My Heart", and "Rain" if you think Delta sucks).
2. BLOOD ON FIRE/ GO 2 + CHRISTINE (10+)
My highest grade on my self-made scale. Haven't heard a song that sounded so great since "Viva La Noche". I have to admit I was a bit skeptical about Christine joining SCP's premiere group. BTW, Ennio's rapping is back in action (listen to his hyper techno stuff!). The only thing, as a small complaint, was how the sabi sounded a little bit out of place from the rest of the song. I did love how SCP had each singer have their own little melo. Excellent job.
3. MY HEART RADIO/ DANIEL ( 8 )
Delta's second serving in only three tracks! Daniel will probably been known now for "Frontal Impact" (which is an instant classic for me ^_^). I like this very much. While not as catchy as "Frontal Impact", his voice just makes me so happy to hear. The new Kevin Johnson, anyone?
4. LOVE DESIRE <2007>/ LINDA ROSS (6)
I'm kinda torn on how to rate this song because I've never heard the original. TIME is very hit and miss when it comes to doing remakes. I loved "Heartbreaker 2007" and "Doctor Doctor 2007", but there have been misses IMHO like "Don't Stop the Music 2006". I do like Ross's vocals in this song and the synths are pretty darn good, but I'm very weary of TIME remakes about now.
5. BACK IN DANGER/ JEFF DRILLER (5)
Much like TIME, HI-NRG ATTACK can be very hit and miss for me. Some of their productions are very polished (i.e. Pun Pun Beam), but others sound just plain generic. I can't explain why I don't much like this song, but I just don't!
6. ABRACADABRA/ CHERRY (9)
While Cherry has had huge hits like "Chemical Love" and "Bach Is Back" in the past couple of years, I think people tend to pass over his tracks nowadays. Personally, I love Moroni's vocals (just listen to "Don't Let My Love Disappear", and tell me that's not good vocal work!) and almost every release she has are 9s or 10s in my mind. While I do think she could have made the vocals more powerful, this song still rocks without all of the cool gimmicks usually seen in Eurobeat. Fast paced intro and a catchy cover to boot.
7. BEAUTIFUL/ ALEXIS (no rating)
I've skipped this song because I have no real interest in the Alexis alias after listening to her 161 entry. I'm not going to say if it's good or bad because I haven't listened to it enough to come to a decision.
8. LOVERS IN THE NIGHT/ MADDY LAYNE (6)
Eww...these vocals are just too shrill for my liking and I do love HI-NRG ATTACK'S female songs like "Pun Pun Beam" and "Money Funny Dollars"! It's not a bad song in general. Catchy, yes. Good synths, yes. But I just can't get past the shrill.
9. TAKE A FRAME/ CHRIS STANTON (9)
Disco flavoured Eurobeat is definitely a stronghold for TIME! I enjoyed Phil & Linda , De Leo, and now Chris Stanton! I've always like disco music so this song is a shining catchy song for me.
10. I'M ALIVE/ JAY LEHR (10)
If there were to be any eurobeat song to be played in a club, this would be the one I would definitely dance to! I absolutely disliked "Mystic Love", but, boy, did this change my mind. While the a-melo ain't that great, but the b-melo and the sabi just makes me want to dance. I'm hoping to see this on the Best of 2007!
11. MY BLUE SKY/ NUAGE (5)
Oh, Nuage. You're only one of like 5-6 vocalists left on A-BEAT C now. Nuage's career has been uneven. We get tremendous classics like "Sunday", "Baby Get My Fire Tonite", and "Don't Wanna Lose You Baby", but also stinkers like this one. I felt this song was too soft. While the vocals are pretty, I would like to hear more energy from her like we did on "Boogie Boogie". You can do better, Denise!!
12. TRUE COLOUR/ ANNALISE (4)
Why, oh, why are they raping Gordon's success with stuff like this? I've said it once and I'll say it again..."Say Yeah" has been her only good song since her comeback in the last year. We have what I call the "Anna-T" Syndrome. The overuse of a particular artists in a short span of time. We can include such aliases as this one and Powerful T. Dry song for me.
13. OVER THE SKY/ ROSE (no rating)
Read the Beautiful entry for my reasoning on this song too.
14. CATCH MY FIRE/ MEGA NRG MAN (7)
What happened here?! He had such kick ass songs last decade! I, for some reason, don't like the way his voice sounds. Reminds me of his songs on the Eurobeat Disney series back in 2000-2001 (and yes, he shouldn't have sung the Emperor's New Groove song LOL). I'm sure that GGM will keep him.
15. DANCE/ KING & QUEEN (5)
Man, A-BEAT C, what's going on here? King & Queen isn't anything without Elena Gobbi in the picture! Gordon takes over again in what some people call "One Night In Arabia 2". Oh no! Annalise, please don't sound like a banshee...that's Elena's job, sister!
16. GUNFIRE/ MATT LAND ( 8 )
The only male vocalists that makes me melt besides Luca Torchiani (I am Luca's #1 fan, too)! Matt Land's been gone for too long. Wasn't his only other song to be released since 149, "City Rider"? While it's not like "Fever The Night" or other classics, it's just good enough for a comeback song. I hope for more releases by him in the 180s!
17. GAS GAS GAS/ MANUEL (8)
Another car song from Manuel and GGM! It's not a bad song by any means, but "Ready Steady Go" was his shining moment from the past couple of decades. I love his wailing voice! Haha. Good job, Manuel.
18. NRG/ GO 2 (10)
My roommate and I love GO 2. We imagined a large choir during the chorus raising up their hands and shouting, "PRAISE GO 2!"....we're kinda odd. NRG, somehow is a very uplifting song unlike their other songs. Not quite as great as "Blood On Fire", but so damned close.
BONUS ALBUM
1. TORA TORA TORA/ DOMINO (9)
Even if you hate Domino, you can't deny how catchy this song is and how stupid we all look during the parapara dance.
2. SHAKE ME UP/ VALENTINA & MIRKA (10)
More Domino!
3. CRAZY FOR LOVE/ DUSTY (9)
SHOW!
4. X-MAN STORY/ JACKIE O' (10)
So nice to have some VIBRATION up in here! I've always loved that label's sound...so different than the rest.
5. FORMULA ONE/ FASTWAY ( 8 )
6. DON'T PLAY WITH ME/ KELLY WRIGHT (10)
A little slowed down, but GOD! I love this song ever since hearing on EUROMACH.
7. LOVER BOY/ DONNA (9)
Yummy Moroni. I haven't listened through this song alot, but I can tell you I love the vocals and the pre-intro already.
8. 777/ FASTWAY (7)
Haha. Irony for the grade. I used to love this song, but it's been rehashed and becoming my "Night Of Fire"...Oy. Not a bad song, but every year, it seems like my parapara team wants to do this song.
9. CABALLERO WITH SOMBRERO/ BABY BAZOOKA (9)
I first heard this mix on LovEuro. This song never gets old to me. I like how they change the synth up the scale.
10. NO ONE SLEEPS IN TOKYO/ EDO BOYS (7)
Not bad, but still not great even if it's extended....
1. JUNGLE FEVER/ MARKO POLO ( 8 )
One of the thing that I'm most disappointed with in this song is that Daniel has taken over this alias. Not that that's a bad thing, but I wish Niko would come back to cover the vocals like he originally did.
Haha.. at the start of Gas Gas Gas the first vocals i heard was "Aaahh.. ass ass ass" and i'm pretty sure that i'm not the only one who heard it too!
Blood On Fire, Jungle Fever, Ass As.. Gas Gas Gas and NRG these are the absolute gems of this album.
I'm Alive is awesome, BRING BACK THE 80's!!! DISCO FTW!
Gunfire has nice bass and bit of an punch, but Matt's voice is too gay for my ears, my speakers dripped honey after this song. But this is quite good song
Catch My Fire could be a good song, but something is missing.. the song seems bit hollow and plain.
Lovers In The Night is actually pretty good, i personally i don't like nrg-attack at all, but this song is so good that i don't wanna stuck a screwdriver on my ear. (and Back In Danger ain't that bad too).
After listening the album few times, this ain't that bad album. Some songs sounded much better after few listenings. I would rate this album 8½

Just got my copy. I would say the cd is a nice way to start the decade. Definately the absence of an aggressive Male TIME song put a dent on my liking it more, but I have to say the Romantic/DISCO numbers really shine for me
1. Marko Polo- Jungle Fever- The beginning of the song is agressive enuff, but the verses really mellow out and they sound out of place. Also Marco's vocals are a bit too high for my taste this TIME around. The Lion Roars(wich work so well on Rebel Heart") also miss out. I guess I'm really liking how they sing "Fever" as they burn into the main chorus, but that's about it.
7/10
2. Goto/Christine- Blood On Fire- I really wanted to like this song more. The intro was awesome, The Main hook(Or "Riff" like Lebon says) sounds kinda Gino Caria tuff style. The part that Ace sings sounds really great and Christine does an exceptional job(See how good she sounds on faster songs), but then there is Fastway. His Rapping totally ruins this song for me. Acceptable rapping for me on Eurobeat would be Old Skool, like Vanessa- "Just A Game", Mike Hammer-"Heartbreaker and even Atrium "Zorro Zorro", but this sounds terrible. Ennio has a great vocals, but should NEVER NEVER be aloud to rap again. Leave that for his Techno Alias.
Since I'm so torn apart by this song, I'll give it two grades.
8+/10(Ace & Christine), -0/10(Fastway rapping)
3. Daniel- My Heart Radio- Another Marco alias. Seems DELTA was trying out new things on this track. The track itself sounds like three different songs put together. After a crappy Intro , the song kicks into an NRG filled "Riff" wich sounds amazing. His vocals are not as high as in "Jungle Fever"(Wich is good). The Chorus is very well put together and when he sings "Listen to my radio" right before that "Riff" OOOWEEE, does that sound sweet. Kudos for that mini break. This will certainly become one of my favs.
9+/10
4. Macho Gang- Love Desire- I allways like this song, just not one of my favs. The difference to the original is very subtle. Only the Eurobeat soundworlds that Mr. Dall'Ora inserts here and there are the standout for me...and of course; the mini break(more songs are doing this
)
8/10
5. Jeff Driller- Back In Danger- The labels are certainly in "Danger" when Hi NRG Attack "Attacks" OOOWEEE! That main "Riff" is wicked beyond Chaos. Federicco sounds so good on this track. He is singing in a more smoother tone then say "Moo Moo Dollars"(Which I LOVE). What I really like is that the famle baqckups don't overpower his vocals. They really are amazing IMOP. There goes the mini break again
The first BULLS-EYE for me.
10/10
6. Cherry- Abracadabra- I was a huge fan of this song back in 1982, so this one is a special treat for me. I have to say Clara hits a BULLS EYE for me on this track. The soundworlds capture the "Magic" of the original very nicley. I just wish this one had a mini break and used the guitars in the Steve Miller Band style of the original. I wonder how DELTA will edit this one in extended. Damn, It should have ended more agressively.
8+/10
7. Alexis- Beautiful- To all you skip this track, you don't know what you are missing one of the most "Beautiful" voices in Eurobeat history. This "Romantic" style is definately a standout for me on this cd. The intro is very like "Magic Rainbow" A certified classic for the DR. The "Riff" is very fast like "Stay"-Victoria. The verses sound so damn catchy and when she whispers it sounds great. That chorus sounds heavenly when Elena sings "Beautiful" and then her vocals rise up a whole new level. Right after the secong chorus, there is a slight pause with cymbal and drumbeats, wich leads me to belive that this part will definately introduce the break in the extended version. That will no doubt sound AMAZING!
10/10
8. Maddy Layne- Lovers In The Night- I was a bit skeptical about this track, because it sounds so much like "Shadows In The Night" in Fact only the word "Lovers" changes, but since HRG allways use Old Skool Italo melodies in thier songs, it quickly pulled me into it's Rythmic embrace. Doen't it sound like she sang the whole thing without ever stopping to take a breath of air? OOH the mini break. SWEEET!
8/10
9. Chris Stanton- Take A Frame- YESS! More TIME. It's TIME to dance folks. His vocals sound so crisp and fresh, just like male vocals sounded in the 80's. I'm hearing a strong "Victim" -Leslie Parrish vibe on this song. yeah, right after the "Riff's" secound couplet. So, I guess he wants to say "Take A Picture", but it sounds so much better as "Take A Frame" Another BULLS EYE from Mr. Dall'Ora.
10/10
10. Jay Lehr- I'm Alive- OOWEE, what an Intro. I love Jay's first song, but this one goes to another level. It's so sweet for AVEX to put this songs together. That bridge right before the main chorus has a magical feeling as if I'm levitating. This songs spares no "Magic" with the keyboards. It has an ongoing synth throughout the song that I'm just loving. IMOP opinion Jay Lehr has the BEST vocals in SCP at the moment. His vocals carry this song from start to finish in such a smooth fasion with perfect melodic tone.
10/10
11. Nuage- My Blue Sky- I can't "hear" why the magority of you don't like this song? It's wonderful in the main "Riff", her vocals sound amazing, especially when she sing "My Blue Sky" and rises the tone on the word "Sky". The verses are a bit short, but that chorus is so beautiful, alot like Norma Sheffield would sing. The song itself is smooth and not too buisy with in the soundworlds, which gives it that "Romantic" touch. Guess I'm the only one on Nuage's side on this track?
8+/10
12. Annalise- True Colour- I definately perfer Annerly when she sings at TIME. This song is nice ,but it's melody and main "Riff" contradict each other. Don't get me wrong, I love the fast synths, but to me seem out of place. I think I'll listen to Wendy White(It's Annerly right?)
7/10
13. Rose- Over The Sky- I grew up with "Matter Of Feeling", "I Wanna Be Your Lover" and "Soft Time", so this style is allways MEGA for me. I have this "Over The Sky" in extended and I will say that the SEB version dosn't do it justice. Elena sounds beautiful and especially the bridge is so specail top me, because it builds up to the chorus, wich is classic melody to say the least. You really have to hear that Raw piano in the break that the extended contains to really appreciate this wondeful piece of music.
9/10
14. Mega NRG Man- Catch My Fire(the Ping-Pong song)- I've renamed the song, because it seems to have a "Ping-Pong" sound effect throughout the song. I know they were probly going for the "Mach Man"- Mr. Black effect, but sounds odd at this speed. Also I want to say those are Cowbells in the chorus, but again sound really odd, like an SOS message. This song really wants to have some original ideas, but sounds nothing like a Mega NRG Man song. The only part that shines for me is the bridge to chorus(wich is allways a favorite part of mine in any song) the "Riff" is wicked enuff, but not for this song. I fear the worst is yet to come.
7-/10
15. King & Queen- Dance- eehh, I'm really trying hard not to skip this track. It does remind of "One Nite In Arabia" .I never like that song. This sounds like generic Go Go Girls music. Not my style at all. I do not like to give lower than 6 to Eurobeat, but this is unlistenable. So Sorry
6-/10
16. Matt Land- Gun Fire- After an Awesome intro, this song reverts into that "Riff" that I'm really no longer fond of. It's been rehashed too much by AbeatC. The chorus should have been given to Mega NRG Man. At least 90% of his good songs sound like this. Matt's vocals make feel a bit uneasy and I don't really like his style. Somehow at TIME he sounded better when he did TENSION after Bonini left.
7-/10
17. Manuel- Gas Gas Gas- Messege to GGM, take lessons from Hi NRG Attack when trying to make a song about Gas. Again for me his voacls are wierd and as much as I love Elena Ferreti when her vocals go higher, I do not like Manuel's at all. He sounds so forced and very uneasy in the verse and the bridge is almost nonexsistant. This really isn't my style at all. I can't beleve this is the same Manuel that sang the wonderful "All The Best" Next.
6+/10
18. Goto- NRG- What the hell is this? Maybe I'm burnt out from the last 4 crappy songs, but this doesn't sound like Eurobeat to me at all. More like the ABOMINATION that is Hyper Techno? The "Riff" is completely lacking imagination(keyboard-wise). Notice how forced Ace sounds compared to "Blood On Fire"? ..and there goes that annoying rapping style. I think Goto has ran out of gass. This is the reason SCP just doesn't rise to one of my favorite labels. Pity ,because I loved "Love For Sale" and " Funky Fun Lover", but this is just wierd sounding.
6-/10
So thst brings the end to SEB 181. I have to say the beggining and especailly the middle are extraordinary trax. To me the songs must have an almost perfect fusion of the Intro-"Riff"-Veses-Bridge-Chorus and now it seems the Minibreak(which more and more songs are including), so I review my songs different than most people and basically I love this compilation, but from Mega NRG's "Ping Pong song" on ,the cd just takes a wierd turn into a style I don't really enjoy at all. That last SCP song is just terrible and almost makes me want to change the spelling of my "Nip"from NRG to Energy ,but since my "Nip" is an ode to TIME/HRG Attack, I won't. I obviously seem to go against the flow of the favorites, but that's my Honest Opinion and we all make up the Eurobeat community. Feel free to "lash" at me, I'll just "lash" right back.

Things can change over time =/
I've done one quick playthrough so far and I am INCREDIBLY happy that I LOVE Lovers In The Night. It's the first HRG track I've fallen in love with upon hearing once in a looooong time. The flashbacks I get to Shadows In The Night from EF are more than welcome.
Beautiful is wonderful, really showcasing Feretti's vocals and NRG is short of great. While Ready Steady Go! took a while to grow on me Gasx3 is an instant hit and you can see the Domino and Oliva are really trying to show us the range of Manuel's vocals. Synth line rocks too.
Now to just listen to it carefully and see how I really feel about the CD

ahem... "Gas Gas Gas" scares me. And I'm dead serious. I refuse to rate it anything because it just... weirds me out.
Am I the only person that really likes "Catch My Fire"?! Tomas Marin's voice sounds amazing in it!!
"Blood On Fire" rocks, in general. Ace's voice is clear, Christine sounds ideal, and Fastway's rapping is awesome~! (Just reminds me why if Mega NRG Man wasn't around, Zanini'd be my favorite.)
"I'm Alive" sounds like something out of '93 or '94. Great song - I must have listened to it on repeat for an hour yesterday. Hope to hear more songs like it from SCP.

It's great when famouse Eurobeat producers join disscussion. I knew The vocalist from Jungle Fever sounded way too high and not at all like Rancati, but didn't realize he was another person. Thanks Mr. Newfield for clearing that up. My respects to Dejorio and his decision. We all need a change in life sometimes. He left the Eurobeat genre some very AMAZING songsguys..Marko Polo vocalist isn't Rancati! and Dejorio is out of biz 4ever!

If Hi-NRG Attack made all their songs sound like Shadows In The Night, I would love it - because shadows in the night is one kick ass songDensetsu13 wrote: I've done one quick playthrough so far and I am INCREDIBLY happy that I LOVE Lovers In The Night. Oh how the times have changed Phil =3
So I have fully listened to the album and some impressions have changed.
Lovers in the night still rocks. I notice I love it specifically for the guitars backing up the vocals all the way through. This song would be a perfect 5 if the vocalist were a bit stronger for lack of better words. Sue me, I'm stuck in the past when it comes to HRG
The vocals in Beautiful I have to admit sound a bit forced and uses an odd key which I can imagine can be very pleasant for some or crushing for others. Love on the Radio is very catchy, original and uplifting, while Jungle fever is definitely a winner but will probably take a little time to grow on me.
AbeatC, what are they doing these days, or rather what is the equipment they're using? I really don't like how the majority of their instruments and sounds sound.
The discobeat tracks are all right, but we've already heard better from Time and SCP in that style.
Blood on Fire is ok. I really disliked the original and while this cover is better it'll probably have to grow on me.
Gasx3 and NRG are the winners for me on this album
