...Holy crap. Set Me Free is well on its way to being somewhere in my 5 total favorites. The preview is more powerful than a lot of MALE songs these days. I've got a special feeling about this song.
This album is weird, though, to me. I seem to like the more non-descript songs (Powerful T., King & Queen) over the louder and more bombastic ones (Jeff Driller, Fastway).
Currently, the songs I have the most interest are:
Irene - "Love is the Name of Love"
Magika - "Planet Love"
Powerful T. - "Fight All Night"
Melisa White - "Everlasting Fire"
King & Queen - "Speedy Runner"
Dave Rodgers - "The Final Game"
Cherry - "Set Me Free"
Also : Clara should NOT be allowed to sing songs with "Boy" in the title ever again, because it's just going to recycle the same rhymes from Wonderboy....

Whew! Let's have a look-see...
1) Superfast Tokyo Drift: GRAAAAGH! WHY IS THE SYNTH BIT NOT IN THE RECORDING??? The chorus has me hooked already! And, did he just mention The Fast and the Furious? Lest we forget, THE SYNTH LINE WAS NOT IN THE RECORDING. BOOOO AVEX!!!
2) Love is the Name of Love: Official winner of the "Redundant Title of the Album" award. Synth line reminds me of the few Eurobeat songs they have in DDR, for some reason. (*misses Hot Limit... snif*) Altogether pretty nice.
3) Planet Love: Hmmm. Chorus doesn't intrigue me much. Synth line not much either. I don't think I'm going to like this one.
4) Demon: Huh. Something sounds like older-school ABeatC, in a good way. I like this one! DEEEEMON, PARAPARAAAA~!
5) Overdrive: Initial D just got an orgasm. Fastway delivers another great one. :3 Although I'm not exactly pulling gay b*ners, either...
6) On My Radio: Something sounds a bit too redundant in the vocal chorus, but I do like the synth line. Comes out to an even "meh".
7) Fight All Night: He's being forced to sound like Manuel. Just doesn't work with me. Sorry, Powerful T. No dice.
Because You Live: Uhhh, what? Sounds almost inspired by that really bad kind of Christian music, the kind that's trying too hard to be cool. Something just doesn't sound right here.
9) Shining Like a Lucky Star: Sooooo subduuuuueeeddddd. It's trying really hard to be sort of romantic, but it sort'a puts me to sleep.
10) Everlasting Fire: Wow. This one hit me with a bang! I look forward to hearing this one in a bit fuller! Synth line was cut too short, but I still liked what I heard of it.
11) Paraboy: Huh. Something sounds VERY different in this one. Almost sounds "deeper" than it should, for some reason. There's something about it that makes me want to hate it and make it my new favorite all at once.
12) I Bet for Lovin': Ugh. I don't like this one at all. Pitched vocals make this one a bit obnoxious. Synth line almost sounds SAIFAMish, but it's HRG??? What's going on?
13) Superman 2007: Wow. I really dislike this one. Even for Eurobeat, this is SUPER-repetitive. Even what sounds like a good synth line can't compensate for JUST HOW BORING the vocal chorus sounds to me.
14) Speedy Runner: YES! THIS IS WHAT ABEATC NEEDED! This is really good stuff! ALthough it once again lacks the mentioned "King", it still sounds "Good Old-School" in that way that ABeatC seems to be doing really well with. Just... YES.
15) The Final Game: This wasn't what Dave needed, but it wasn't as dull or unimaginative as some of his previous pieces either. It seems that Dave is trying too hard on this one, but a little bit of that effort seems to be paying off. It's a step in the right direction. Keep it up Dave! (And, while I'm here, MOAR POWER METAL RELATED STUFF IN EUROBEAT AND VICE VERSA PLZKTHX.)
16) Rock On Fire: This song is just PEEING Rock 'n Roll-esque testosterone. Way to go Mega NRG Man! This was a solid, although not perfect, song. Nice stuff. :3
17) Set Me Free: Energetic! It just flows so well! I think I've heard that hook, however, or, maybe it sounded a bit much like Guile's theme from Street Fighter II. Not that it's a BAD thing...
18) Burning Up The Night: Jiminy Christmas. WAY too fast. I don't call it Eurobeat. Have these guys been freebasin' the Powerthirst or something? (Youtube Powerthirst to see what I mean. I must forwarn; some language)
Seems like a less risky, more solid entry in Super Eurobeat. I might just buy this one as a CD instead of just track by track.

172 BPM is by far the fastest eurobeat song ever produced. I love über fast songsJasonMath wrote:Actually, throughout the 30-second sample (including the second or 1/2 second of silence at the end, I counted 21.5 measures of 4/4 time (which is 86 beats). Multiply that by 2, and you get 172 BPM. I think that the song is actually going to be closer to 170 BPM, but still, that's the fastest BPM I have ever heard in a eurobeat song. (Mira La Luna, by contrast, was 165 BPM - I have a very accurate stepfile (for Stepmania) of it, courtesy of E-P's very own #Infinity!)

Actually, to me, it sounds more like "Blue Blazes" from Wangan Midnight Maximum Tune...zoupzuop2 wrote:Whew! Let's have a look-see...

OOOWEEE! I'm liking what I hear so far. I guess the theme is OLD SKOOL melodies all around. First impressions
1. Jeff Driller- Superfast Tokyo Drift- Rehashed "Moo Moo Dollars". Sounds great, but Jeff's vocals seem overcome by female backup
2. Irene- Love Is The Name Of Love- Not bad, Catchy enuff. Need to hear the rest.
3. Magika- Planet Love- Here we Go! OLD SKOOL melody with Mr. Dall Ora's wicked synths=AWESOME
4. Ace Warrior- Demon- I can't think of any previous hit by him, but this one sounds extra cool in the "riff" again OLD SKOOL melody.
5. Fastway- Overdrive- Good enuff driving sound. Sounds like "Go Racing Go", but that's what I like about it.
6. D.J. Force- On My Radio- YESSSS!!!! Gambogi! He really is the FORCE at TIME! This could be the best track on this cd. Gambogi sounds great and those killer synths.
7. Powerful T.- Fight All Night- I don't get all the hate. He sounds great and once again classic Eurobeat hook. Those synths sound somewhat metalic.
8. Miky M.C.- Because You Live- WOW! This sounds amazing. Christan sounds very smooth and clear. This could be tied with D.J. Force as the favorite.
9. Kelly. T.- Shining Like A Lucky Star- Too Many shiny stars at AbeatC. This sounds nice for Nuage.
10. Mellisa White- Everlasting Fire- My first impression is that ...I'm liking this on all levels!
11. Leslie Parrish- Paraboy- The chorus melody sounds really nice, but I hope the riff isn't too fast as to ruin the atmosphere of the overall song
12. Baby Gold- I Bet For Loving- I love HRG , but this TIME the high pitch vocals don't really go with the slower synthesizer hook.
13. Danny- Superman- I love the original. I need to hear more of this one, but the reinvented riff sounds amazing!
14. King & Queen- Speedy Runner- I can't ,but to think of the road runner. It sounds decent, not blowing me away at tye moment .
15. Dave Rodgers- The Final Game- The best part of this song are his vocals and the riff. The chorus sounds rather blah.
16. Mega NRG Man- Rock On Fire- This song sounds more like late 90's early 200s. Thomas sounds really good on this track, even though it is rehashed.
17. Cherry- Set Me Free- A little to hardcore. The best part is Clara's vocals. They allways sound great.
18. 2 fast- Burining up the Night(total Fire) Faster is not necessarly better, however the Classic hook is addicting. I like how Newfield used a portion of High Frequency hit "One More Chance" in the riff.
I'll definately get this one. No Disco vibe song nor "Beautiful " songs by Elena, but The quality more than makes up for that absence.

Actually, I'm honestly surprised that an example of this had not happened earlier. Early happy hardcore ravers had a slogan called PLUR (Peace, Love, Unity, Respect). One of the words that often appears in eurobeat songs is "love", and "dancing" is another word that wouldn't be out of place in a happy hardcore song, either. Granted, eurobeat and happy hardcore have vastly different roots (eurobeat coming from Hi-NRG, Italo Disco, and a splash of J-Pop; happy hardcore coming from early rave and jungle music), but in a way, they are somewhat similar (sorry drnrg - I hope I didn't offend you with those last 8 words).MKwiakaku wrote:Eurobeat is going hardcore! Actually, I am having second thoughts about it. I think that I might have overcounted by a beat (because of a slight delay while WMP loops the sample), so it's actually closer to 170 BPM. Still, that would make it the fastest eurobeat song that I have ever heard of. However, there was some close competition that I forgot to mention. Spiderman (by Mark Foster) appeared on Love Para2 and VIP Mega Euro Star 3rd Stage (according to the database) and has a BPM of 167.Lebon14 wrote:172 BPM is by far the fastest eurobeat song ever produced. into listening; I just don't hear it.
2 Fast really is reallymega fast. I still remeber when I thought "Go Rocky Joe"from Maximum Power was too fast. You get used to the speed, so long as the songs still follow the Basic formula and hooks. I guess that's why I like the new DELTA song
