Annerley Gordon or not?
I was recently listening to a few UK Hardcore tunes that I had on my computer and while i was doing that, a certain song came up on my playlist that really boggled my mind. The track in question is "BB038 - Frisky & Hujib - Never Stop". The vocalist in this song just sounds so similar to Annerley Gordon, to me. Can anyone confirm/deny this for me? Thanks.
Oh, and here's a short sample that contains most of the vocals that they use in the song - http://johndesire.bemaniso.ws/NEVER%20STOP.mp3

or why not? its actually an amazing song that i happen to own and play at raves now and then!MarkIventi wrote:Also, why would she do a track like this?
Eurobeat and Happy Hardcore share a lot in terms of energy and emotion, and I'm also aware that some Eurobeat vocalists are from the UK, where Happy Hardcore is produced nowadays, so I wouldn't be too surprised to see crossover artists someday.
Although I really don't think this is Annerly singing in Never Stop.

I´m not talking about the song!
I´m talking about logic when it comes to vocalists. Annerley used to live in Cremona (and still does I think) and operated in a certain area around her hometown. All the studios she sang for are to reach by car: Verona (Saifam), Reggio Nell´Emilia (Energy Prod.), Bologna (Expanded), Mantova (Rodgers Music) and so on. You will not see her on any tracks by labels from the outer corners of musical Italy such as Rome. Let alone will you see her do an overseas track like this.
I´m just saying this because sometimes you can even rule out a possibility before even comparing vocal features.

But now you're being unreasonable. You're saying she won't perform for any producer that isn't a car ride away? Maybe her career's a little bigger than that?MarkIventi wrote:I´m not talking about the song!

She will now, but not then. Some people overestimate the amount of money a ´vocal gig´ got a person. There is a reason why most singers have done so many songs!
Most vocalists don´t even own half the stuff they recorded, and that says it all. We look at tunes as masterpieces while for them it was just work. Take a look at the Annerley Gordon vocal list I composed for Euroflash and you´ll see that 99% of the tunes are from labels within reach of Cremona. Otherwise ask Marcello (I Venti) and he will conform that not only Annerley, but most artists worked like this.

I really doubt the main reason they sing Eurobeat is for the money. I believe there has got to a be special place for Eurobeatr in thier heart to be a part of it for so many years. You make them sound like the "pitless" American singers who do everything soley for money. She will now, but not then. Some people overestimate the amount of money a ´vocal gig´ got a person. To be honest...
Many Eurobeat singers aren't that passionate about it, and treat it as an "experiment" or a "joke".
Here's Stefano Brandoni (Digital Planet)'s reply when I asked him about some A-Beat C artists:

And this is what Fabio Lione said about his tracks as J. Storm:Stefano Brandoni wrote:i don't now this information...i now only that sometimes i joke with dave rodgers and create i trak for digital planet...but for me is a joke....i play guitar.
Finally, a recent quote from Luca Lanzano, the new Marko Polo:Fabio Lione wrote:anyway..i don't think i'll do again this kind of music in the furure..(since the beginning i was thinkin' to sing..something like 10/15 songs, not more..i think i did 11 songs..he,he..i don't remember now..and is fine,i'm satisfied..)..
(On a side note... Seems they're not very passionate about English as wellLuca Lanzano wrote:Recently are came out in Japan my new singles: "Rock In The Fire" and Jungle Fever" with AVEX Company. It's an experimentation of Eurobeat.
But my real passion remain Pop music.

I find myself in agreement with what Mark is saying. If you look at a map, Northern Italy is where the studios are located. Traveling a long distance to record makes little sense. It's not practical.drnrg wrote:MarkIventiI really doubt the main reason they sing Eurobeat is for the money. And the quotes cheeseman has presented I agree with, too. To the majority of vocalists, the general consensus is recording is simply a [side] job or a career experiment.
Now, of course there are some people passionate about their music - a few I know feel this way, and enjoy the music and the process (well, more or less the creation process - haha). But generally speaking, many people just do it for the money. It's a job, plain and simple.

People like Dave, Domino, Andrea Leonardi, etc. etc. etc. are all VERY passionate about the music! People like Annerley, the Francesca´s and other vocalists simply see it as a way of making money. Their heart is with other types of music, that´s why most of them do pop albums and are really involved in that.
All I tried to say is that IF you´re not good at recognizing vocalists, logic is a helpful too. Check the label, the studio, the time period, etc. and it will help you a great deal!

Those are the ones I was mainly reffering to. The artists that have kept at it for years. Like Federico, Giancarlo, Elena,Farina as well as the composers like Dall Ora, Newfield and Accantino. I'm not too surprised at those quotes at all. I mean,When was the last TIME we even heard a J.Storm or Digital Planet song? I'm well aware of thier other passions for Rock and other genres, Shit ,aside from Eurobeat; I?m a Hardcore ROCKER myself. Puddle Of Mudd. Mudvayne, Velvet Revolver ..oh yeah and RattPeople like Dave, Domino, Andrea Leonardi, etc. etc. etc. are all VERY passionate about the music!
