CD COVERS AND YOUR OPINION

Post by Tiddles » 28 Apr 2008, 03:37

what is your opinion on the CD covers for SEB and what would you to to improve them (if you think they need it)
i am only a fan of a few covers as most of the girls look way to emo to represent something so upbeat and happy. i like a few of the 160's.

i think it would be nice to se a male on the cover, although not with as much make up. :x

anywho what do you think?

They've done a good job of improving it over the years. I think the covers were in their best state during the 101-139 era - the covers had the signature female models, but also an attractive, bright, colorful ambiance that fits the mood of eurobeat perfectly.

It seems like Avex is targetting more towards their old style (001-089) lately, which I personally don't like, but they're at least not nearly as obscure and disturbing as they once were. I do like 187's cover art, however.

Although we all love a nice glass of MILK with our covers, sometimes. XD

Agreed, though; I do prefer the cover designs of the last "set", if you will, of SEB covers. To be a great deal honest, I don't think Eurobeat has enjoyed very good covers outside of SEB. The Hi-NRG Attack catalog has a FEW good ones, but very few. Delta's former single-covers (mostly the current SinclaireStyle catalog songs) had some proffessionalism to them, in SOME cases (Night of Fire wasn't that great, cover-wise). Vibrations' tend to suffer, a good bit. Other labels', I've yet to see, so I'll reserve judgement on those...

Before I read this thread, I was anticipating who was going to mention that again. It's getting a bit old now. :/

I thought those were the most horrible covers I've ever seen. I like the cover art from the 140s onwards (not the 160s though).

I'm glad avex is sticking somewhat to the format they're in now. In the 170's they put the lettering and numbers wherever they wanted to on the front it seems. lol.

I like the cover art from the 50-90 era, personally. I forgot which album it was but there's one cover art that I like, the lady with the zippo lighter. I think it was in the 50s? All I remember from that CD is that it has a Juliet song on it and Boom Boom DJ. :!: *goes to look...* ...seb 57. :D

For a cover of Super Eurobeat , It has to be bright and upbeat. I mean when you look at it , it should just make you want to listen to Eurobeat. So IMO , Super Eurobeat 77 was the worst cover XD.

Though SEB has been improving a lot though these years , like #Infinity says. Super Eurobeat 187 is far one of the best covers.

0-90 had this dark aspect i dont like.

then 102 was like ''O.O'' , aswell as all the others after that where bright !
Though it was pretty much the same model all the time .
100-133 are really awesome !
140-160 was kind of dark , but good arrangements.
160's = Wow
170's to now, they have never disappointed me

SEB covers are pretty cool. I like the darker 70's and 80's. Now they are getting better, but sometimes do not reflect the music they contain.

I think the ones in the 130's totlally sucked and didn't reflect the music in question

For the record the Eurobeat Flash and EuroPanic have got to be the worst covers ever along with Euromach UHRG!!!

as for vinyl sleeve jackets. Those are the ones that make me drool. TIME did the best ones hands down . The sleeves for Funky Lady, Celebrate, Love Is Like Paradise were perfectly reflecting the music. Also High Energy, Disco Energy and a few DELTA look classy too. The HRG Attack and Saifam ones were Campy at best. FLEA sleeves were just clourful letters most of the TIME, but still lovable.

ABeatC started off pretty good, but then resorted to a black sleeve cover, wich pissed me off to no end :D

While I agree about Europanic being bad and EF was funky, the Euromach covers were GREAT! They captured the soul of that series perfectly, and more importantly, were marketed very well towards the intended para para audience. Correct me if I'm wrong but a lot of the fashion of the girls on the covers were how they would dress at para events back in those days. Platforms, ganguro sundresses, et al. 8)

Tru Tru, but I would rather see the real life girls dressed up the cover than those crappy cartoons. I don't like to associate Eurobeat with animation. 8)
