A good example of Eurobeat

Post by Chico Chico » 29 Dec 2004, 03:06

In listening to eurobeat, you get to hear so many different sounds, styles, vocals and so much talent. That's why I think Eurobeat is really the best type of music out there. I never am unhappy when I listen to it and I can always find a song to fit my day.

We all have a song where we say, "Wow. Now that's really good." Which song does that for you? It doesn't have to be your favourite song.

For example I nominate Lucky Boy - "Listen to my Mystery" as a really good example of eurobeat. It's energetic, catchy, great lyrics that are easy to understand and the refrain is awesome!

So what do we think? 8)

Well I'd right away go for the few songs that got me into eurobeat in the first place:

Virginelle - Lucky Tango
Lolita - Think Of You

Two songs that have remained my favorites throughout the years.

Lost in the Night By Elisa, Initial D Selection 2

The overall flow is what drew me into SEB. Happy, love, and high energy. First exposure was in Initial D stage 1, but the song was just a snippet. Really Really short. However curiosity got the best of me and purchased my first SEB which was Initial D Selection 2. Popped it into the cd player and let run while I drove. At first I thought I was in love Leslie Parrish's "Killing my Love", which was track one. Along the way I sampled the other tracks but didn't 'grip' me as much. But getting to track 12 I was in euphoria! The song played as I drove my car faster (RX-7 FD oddly enough :P) which I think enhanced the whole impact of the song upon my psyche. From that experience I knew was gonna be a SEB fan for life. Thats what reeled me in SEB. But my friends nailed me to SEB.

The solidification of SEB in my musical diet was due to an outing with some friends. That night we're supposed to go clubbing. Being the youngins we are, we decided to listen to rap and hip hop during the drive. Dont get me wrong, rap and hip hop is great, the majority for most American teens and young people, and in addition it was a major influence as I grew up. It was the 'cool' and 'suppose to' listened to musical gener for young adults. But after being exposured to SEB, I found myself disatisfied listening to rap and hip-hop (I think R&B was connected to hip-hop for me) as my friends bobbed their head to the beat during the drive. Well trying to expose and spread SEB, I thought it I let them sample some. Whipping out my Initial D Selection 3 and playing "Beat of the Rising Sun" by Super Aura Shiny Dave Rodgers, I was sure my friends would come to appreciate the greatness of SEB. But alas, it failed to grab them. I tried other tracks as such but their opinion was that of 'WTF'. So how does this tie into my love of SEB? Simple, I found my where taste lie. And I think thats the most important factor in appreciating anything especially in musical taste. Of course I still listen to pop rap and other musical geners but it has been 7 years since that night and I still hunger for SEB. Country though is biting into me but thats another story. I wouldn't say SEB is best for everyone, that would be werid, although it has values that would appeal to most peoples. That happy and love feeling. That's why most of us conjugate to Eurobeat prime. Sharing the love and happiness that SEB brings. Thats my dos (two) cents! Hopefully it didnt bore and waste your time too much.
