Am I the only one who is digging on the Cherry track? :(

By the way, I put the previews on loop effect for each clip and my initial thoughts have changed ona few tunes.

I am now loving Mad Cow. hearing potential on Nuage's entry and even Go Go Girls has put a smile on my face. 4-6 are still nada.

I never considered the singer behind the original Dream Fighters a strong vocalist anyway.
Who was that?

Do you honestly think two subsequent Di Marcantonio tracks is a bigger issue than four subsequent Farina tracks? I prefer a variety of vocalists too, but I fail to see why you're singling him out.

I never considered the singer behind the original Dream Fighters a strong vocalist anyway.
Reason I single him out is because he's done this before with several alias (Jackie 'O, Captain America are examples). Instead of keeping one alias he takes an alias that someone else used. As for Farina, I've said plenty on him during the 160's where he was the only artist that was on every single album during the 160's, sometimes more than once. Bringing up that issue would have been moot.
You can hate me but you know you have quality issues =p

For me, sounds good:
Mad Cow
Jimmy Diamond (winner)
Momo
Danny Rock (already have)
Rick Castle
Dream Fighters

No, no good for me:
Nuage
Phil & Linda

The rest is average, I've waiting more from Tora.
Gimme the cd.
...I remember that time...

The original Jacky O was Gino Caria. Since he left us(R.I.P. king of Eurobeat), Dima had to take over vocals. besides Jacky O likes to jump from Vibration To TIME and Then back to Dima. :P

The only other Captain America I know was Corraini.

Sice I can remeber all labels have done the alias change effect from Asia to TIME, FLEA, AbeatC, HRG Attack, even DELTA with Mad Max. It depends on who is avaliable at the TIME. The only consistant label I can think of is SCP and come to think of it, it makes them kinda boring, because as soon as a particular vocalist leaves the label, then we never hear from that alias again. Lisa Lion comes directly to mind. :(

Well, according to the SCP myspace, Lisa hasn't left the label yet (she's still on the roster posted there); she's extremely quiet, but at least she had Getting The Fever on 172. Luca Torchiani, on the other hand, has clearly stopped working for SCP because Van T.K. is no longer listed; he's presumably only working for Delta now as Paul Harris, Mark Astley, and Makkeroni.

If her new song is Dima, I'd love to see Stefy make an appearance to break up the consistent single-male releases to avoid what Saifam has been undergoing lately (of course, I'd still love a new song from her if it were Delta instead  ).

A very smart choice for Luca ,if you ask me.

I guess David Ropa is left also? I wonder what became of him? I liked that Stormy Night song.

I remember that song. Nowhere near the quality of Big On Emotion or Lion Heart.

Okay, brief thoughts:

01 PEOPLE OF THE WORLD / Go Go Girls
I'm not a massive GGG fan, but it is good to hear them back after such a long break. Nice chorus with lots of melody and energy, and the hook sounds promising.

02 BALALAIKA VODKA ROCK & ROLL / Mad Cow :|
How many times have we heard this kind of thing already? HRG really need to try new ideas and sounds to avoid just rehashing old songs constantly. What is that ending portion though?

03 MY LONELY NIGHT / Jimmy Diamond :)
Sounds decent - pleasant melody and beat, but nowhere near as good as anything on EBM 17 really...

04 FROM HEARTACHE TO HEAVEN / Momo :|
Okay, I think this is alright, but the chorus is basically Love Is A Pretender, and that's lazy of SCP and Avex especially as it was such a recent release. The vocalist is nowhere near as appealing as Pamsy either. The start of the hook sounds like One Touch. New ideas please...

05 FEEL IT IN YOUR HEART / Annalise
The synths in the chorus sound a bit flat, but I love the vocal melody and that hook reminds me of some of the better hooks from the 160s/170s when A-Beat C still had some presense. I look forward to hearing this in full...

06 FLAMES AND FIRE / Tora
Quirky track, and has more energy and drive than the SinclaireStyle's 188 offering. Interesting synth riff and a classic Eurobeat-style vocal melody. Promising.

07 HEARTBREAK / Danny Rock
Still enjoying this song - I have it already, but the intro is by far the most epic part. In the 190s, I'm hoping for a bit more variety in the vocalists for the Saifam songs though.

08 BAD BOY / Rick Castle
This is what I mean by new ideas for HRG - something that sounds a bit fresher than all your grunting Vodkas and Balalaikas and Cows!! I adore the cute squeaky backing vocals, and the vocal melody is irresistable!

09 DANCE DANCE / Cherry :|
I've adored Cherry's newer tracks for their drive and highly melodic nature, but this seems like a step backwards to a time when Delta didn't have much impact on me. Sounds a bit "mono".

10 BABY TAKE ME HIGH / Nuage :)
Only Nuage can do tracks with such gentle sincerity - I reckon when A-Beat C's back catalogue runs down, she will be missed. This is cute and a nice change of pace.

11 SPIRIT GO WILD / The Snake
Definitely - The Snake is the new Go 2! Awesome power in the guitars, but the BPMs have been dropped which adds to the burning tension. I love the sound of the hook too, which should be a unique moment on this CD.

12 STORMBRINGER / Dream Fighters
It's Dima-by-numbers, but that most definitely isn't a bad thing. The melodic structure has some neat ideas, and I love the hook as ever. Great sounding track!

13 YOU GIVE ME MORE / Phil & Linda :)
Phil & Linda....only with added synths! This has a bit more depth and groove than previous "disco" fused tracks, and I quite enjoyed it. I still don't think it's a fitting end to the 180s, but it's not the worst track on this CD...

Top 3 on first impressions:
BAD BOY / Rick Castle
HEARTBREAK / Danny Rock
SPIRIT GO WILD / The Snake

HM:
STORMBRINGER & PEOPLE OF THE WORLD

Bottom 3:
BALALAIKA VODKA ROCK & ROLL / Mad Cow - lazy HRG rehash!
FROM HEARTACHE TO HEAVEN / Momo - lazy SCP rehash!
DANCE DANCE / Cherry - lazy Delta backwards step!

1. Go Go Girls- People Of The World
http://www.avexnet.or.jp/avexdb/supereu ... 89_001.asx
MY THOUGHTS ON THE CLIP: Sounds like good 'ol GGG fare, except I'm really getting bored of the soft, soft synths. My favorite synth types do NOT sound like a soft wave of audio silk; the best ones RIP into you. GGM... should consider new sabi sounds by now.

2. Mad Cow & the Tverskaya Girls- Balailaika, Vodka 6 Rock N Roll
http://www.avexnet.or.jp/avexdb/supereu ... 89_002.asx
MY THOUGHTS: Tsk tsk. Sounds unusually boring. Mr. Rimonti could do better, has done better, and I imagine will do better next round. Plus, no riff in clip makes zoupzuop2 a sad man.

3. Jimmy Diamond- My Lonely Night
http://www.avexnet.or.jp/avexdb/supereu ... 89_003.asx
MY THOUGHTS: FLASH! IN THE NIIIIIIIGHT! Sounds sort'a older-school for some reason. No riff in the clip FTL.

4. Momo- From Heartache To Heaven
http://www.avexnet.or.jp/avexdb/supereu ... 89_004.asx
MY THOUGHTS: Ooh. This sounds smooth. Very nice soundworld, and the vocals are just right.

5. Annalise- Feel It In Your Heart
http://www.avexnet.or.jp/avexdb/supereu ... 89_005.asx
MY THOUGHTS: I think it's slightly older ABeatC material-- not as big a winner as, say, Little Desire, so far.

6. Tora- Flame & Fire
http://www.avexnet.or.jp/avexdb/supereu ... 89_006.asx
MY THOUGHTS: Roberta Grana's great vocals get wasted on a somewhat less great Sinclairestyle entry. Also GODDAMNIT SINCLAIRE! SOUNDWORLDS, ALREADY! I'm waiting for nearly a SINGLE Sinclairestyle Eurobeat song that does NOT sound nearly identical! Sinclaire could do SO well, if he just tried something DIFFERENT!

7. Danny Rock- Heartbreak
http://www.avexnet.or.jp/avexdb/supereu ... 89_007.asx
MY THOUGHTS: Loveline rehash. This is the problem with mass-producing labels. It's my LEAST favorite type of SAIFAM synthline too. I'll pass.

8. Rick Castle- Bad Boy
http://www.avexnet.or.jp/avexdb/supereu ... 89_008.asx
MY THOUGHTS: Avex, you jerks. Link STILL doesn't work.

9. Cherry -Dance Dance
http://www.avexnet.or.jp/avexdb/supereu ... 89_009.asx
MY THOUGHTS: Huh? Is this Sinclairestyle or something? It sounds like Sinclaire had a hand in this one for some reason... which, I'm sad to say, is NOT a good thing for the track. Sorry, Cherry.

10.Nuage- Baby Take Me High
http://www.avexnet.or.jp/avexdb/supereu ... 89_010.asx
MY THOUGHTS: I miss her already ;_; Actually, for an even slower (!!!) song for ABeatC, not miserable from what I could hear.

11. The Snake- Spirit Go Wild
http://www.avexnet.or.jp/avexdb/supereu ... 89_011.asx
MY THOUGHTS: Ohhhh yeah. The Snake kicks ass. He's SCP's Manuel, basically-- just made of win beyond belief.

12.Dream Fighters- Storm Bringer
http://www.avexnet.or.jp/avexdb/supereu ... 89_012.asx
MY THOUGHTS: Why does this sound like Davide Dimarcantonio, except slightly not? Sweet vocals, and that wonderful "Dima Sabi Synth" sound is still prominent. Not an AMAZING song, but I like it already. :3

13.Phil & Linda- You Give Me More
http://www.avexnet.or.jp/avexdb/supereurobeat/asx/AVCD-
10189_013.asx
MY THOUGHTS: Phil's voice is really nice, I like it. This sounds like a really strong entry from the Time/Comet crowd.

OVERALL: I'm a bit disappointed... even if I could hear Rick Castle's faster entry, I'm surprised at the somewhat lower level this album has brought compared to the previous. This album doesn't have any extreme highs or lows; nevertheless, it's more of a "meh" album than a "hey, cool" album...
I'm really surprised at Delta; their entries were somewhat weaker this time. Perhaps the weaker entries in the catalog were yoinked out this time?
Sinclairestyle STILL hasn't gotten over their biggest weakness-- FREAKING SOUNDWORLDS. They all sound like they're in a reverb-filled, "rock 'n roll" stage-- no difference! I listened to Ale's "If You Ever Leave Me" recently... and I realized that Sinclaire hasn't change his style a single iota compared to then. Great vocalists, good lyrics-- but they're all delicious COPYPASTA Eurobeat songs. Until Sinclaire can really push a unique entry out there, he's doomed to sound a great deal repetitive, much moreso than we know he's capable of.
HRG's entries, as well, seem a bit down and out. Perhaps they're suffering the "we've only got so many vocalists to work with" syndrome? I mean, they're not doing AWFUL, and their Mad Cow entry wasn't AWFUL, but... they've done better.
ABeatC's selections were a bit more varied from the sound of things. Nuage is a welcome returning name (even if it's an older catalog song)...
SCP keeps bumping up and up and up. They're really taking seize of the new way of Eurobeat business, and their efforts are noted and applauded.
SAIFAM is returning to their "old" style of synths. Yuck. Me no likey.

Perhaps 191 or 190 will be better. =\

EDIT: Edited for accuracy. My own butchered Eurobeat composition terms shouldn't replace the originals. =P

I hear only two songs at this time: Dima's and Sinclaire's.
Now waiting for the album.

i think its time to discuss once again that the sabi is the chorus, the instrumental is referred to as the intro.

Sabi is such a lame word for chorus. It means the same thing in Japanese, right, but I would never refer to the chorus in A Perfect Hero as a sabi. :P

words like Hook and Riff sound way better to describe the power of a Eurobeat song. As long as everyone knows what the hell we are talking 'bout, it's all good.

I agree 100% with this statement. This is the main reason I have not enjoyed one single Sinclaire entry since he joined SEB. Some how when he composed at DELTA, the songs had more "Umph" to them. I mean seriously, even "Night Of Fire2" ,would be better then what's been showcased latley. Solution: Raise the volume on Percussion and add new soundworlds. There is a multitude of amazing instrumental sounds that the other labels use, why can't he?

Well, I mean, I liked "Move On Up Baby"-- Grana's voice is teh smex (almost as great as Kimmy's~) in that one-- but the songs ALL sound very much like they did when he was with Delta. Seriously. Maybe he should try dabbling in themes? Jungle? Robotic? Hell. Even add a dash of Hyper Techno. Or, God forbid it, even RAP (meaning, slow it down greatly, have the kick go BVVVVVVvvvvvvvvvvvv instead of TMP) flavoring would be something DIFFERENT.

In specific, I recommend:
Different riff sound choice.
Different reverb/chorus effects.
Maybe even some trance sounds going on in the background.
A theme, maybe.

And out of the blue:
What if Fausto Guio did his first Eurobeat song since, what, Rock 'n Roll emulation? I'm sure it'd actually be something interesting to behold.

I wasn't looking for just his interest. :P Trance or no, RAP or no, it'd be something new. Different. NOT delicious Sinclairestyle Copypasta like the last 4 songs or so from the last 4 albums ALONE.

Tbh, I don't find Sinclaire's current production methods to be lacking. Sure, it's not up with his status during the late 90's (Night Of Fire, Speedway, etc. come to mind), but I don't see why you think EVERY song he produces sounds rehashed and boring. Does every other label do that? I don't think so - Leonardi's staying true to his classic style, not experimenting with weird ideas that often don't even sound like eurobeat. I've come to love Let's Go Wild a lot because it takes his famous style and brings it into the modern eurobeat scene. The backgrounds may be a bit light, but the synths are aggressive and effectively fit into place.

Do you honestly think the current level of SinclaireStyle is on par with all of the dull mush produced during the 150's and part of the 140's and 160's, anyway?
