Yeah unfortunately... cancer of some sort... heard a few different parts... And two different years, not 100% sure what's true... either 1997 or 1999.

Yeah.. Always On My Mind was on 124 and it was released in 2002 so the release dates won't tell us anything.. it could be 1997 or 1999.. i'v heard that it's 1999 and he died on lung cancer.

Gino Caria (Lou Grant) did die in 1997 of lung cancer, so that would be the last year of production for any of his "newer" releases.

and the later songs released under titles like Lou Grant don't necessarily mean that it's still Gino Caria doing the vocals... Avalon dates to 129...
