Domino got together with Konami and Y&Co to remake a '2009 version' of Monkey Dance for the newest IIDX game that was released in Japan this week.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mEKHJ9esWLY Here's a video of someone playing the song.
Enjoy!

You know, I didn't think I was going to enjoy this one, but she handles it very nicely... you can hear the lyrics now! XD
I'm inclined to think it's better than the original... though, I'd rather hear a clean version before I make any final decisions.

Be the sound you feel inside your voice!

Haha Empress just got more interesting. IIDX16 is now redeemed after no Super Eurobeat license since 14.

This version sounds better than the original Y&Co for sure.
We need Y&Co. on SEB! They have a bunch of awesome Eurobeat songs.

Whenever I heard Monkey Dance I always thought it would be fitting as a Domino track, although I must admit I never really listened to it *closely* enough - I thought the original was in Japanese before I heard Domino's, then listened to the original again. XD
Does anyone know when the soundtrack for the game will be released (or if it has been released already)? Also, where can I buy it? I tried looking but had no luck. haha

The soundtracks usually come out about 2-4 months after the AC game has been released. Best place to get them would be Play Asia. So expect it around early next year.
Domino should do Speedy Cat next...

I don't hear those airy synths at all, so that allready is a plus for me. I'm not familiar with the original, but this one sounds pretty tasty. The chorus sounds really good. There is nothing in particualr about Domino singing that makes me like the song more, but I enjoyed that melody. It's really old school

Sounds like the synths are getting a pouding!

Yeah, Y&Co. tends to have great taste in synth riffs. I'm guessing GGM didn't touch the track at all, other than recording vocals?

I just have a question... What do you mean by "airy synths" - and what makes it bad?

The echoey effect added to the synth that gives it a semi trance semi airy sound. Compare Let's Go Wild by Niko to Night Of Fire for a great example or even My Heart Burns Like A Fire to the contemporary Lolita songs on GGM. My guess is they added to the whole songs the echoey effect (most if not all labels are now doing this).
You can hate me but you know you have quality issues =p

*Its sheer overuse in modern Eurobeat
*The way it saps a synth riff sound of energy
*The lack of aggression
*Its sheer overuse in modern Eurobeat (Yes, it's here twice for a reason)
*Its connections to echo-ey, overused sound worlds
Need I continue? ;3
