Review Of Super Eurobeat Volume 155
Review Of Super Eurobeat Volume 155
Here we go! A new SEB and new songs to listen to!
Track 01 - Kevin Johnson - Don't Say Goodbye
Now this is really cool. I'm sure many people were shocked when they heard Name's song, Don't Tell Me Stories. This song follows a simliar format going old school SEB style while mixing contemporary SEB flavor. Kevin Johnson's vocals are strong and clear. The song is definately a treat to listen to. It isn't absolutely something that will stop everything else but for what it is, it is extremely effective.

Track 02 - D-Team - Speed Car
Many people have heard this song already on Initial D Fourth Stage D Selection + or have heard it on the actual anime. It's perhaps my least favorite song from Initial D 4th Stage but let me explain why. The vocals are a little too sharp in the sabi which makes it a little hard to listen to. If you've heard any of Time's songs before, no doubt you'll recognize a lot of elements here. The ending is horrible compared to the one on 4th Stage. I'm sorry but this song really doesn't do much for me at all.

Track 03 - Digital Planet - Call Me Tonight
Digital Planet is such a talented singer... and then he had to get a song like this... which makes me love him even more! This song is absolutely phenominal. The singing is so soothing yet somber. The music is a mix of trance, dance and eurobeat all in one which is quite amazing to listen to. In a previous small review I read that it's similar to Fly Away but I have to disagree. It's has a style thats quite it's own. Definately a great song by a great artist.

Track 04 - Cherry - Euroheat
Clara Moroni returns to her most famous title. It's actually very energetic but I'm a little concerned as to why they really synthezised her voice. I would have prefered if they pushed her voice. We all know how strong her vocals are. It's a pretty good song and is helping me turn my attitude towards Delta. I really like this style!
9 out of 10 <G>
Track 05 - Giacomo Caria - Light My Fire
What phenominal usage of keys in this song! When I heard the intro I knew that I was gonig to give this song a perfect score but let me talk about the song itself. The vocals are extremely strong and if this is really Gino Caria's son, I can definately see similarities. The rockish ravish style is very welcome here. Definately one of the best songs I've heard on the 150's series!
10 out of 10 <P>
Track 06 - Dee Dee & Regina - Beautiful Day
I'm so glad Davide's back! I miss his vocals! Same with Regina. The really strange thing is after hearing that A-Beat C song, it really flows with this song as well. In other words, this is a Vibration song that fits the CD! Regina's singing is so amazing as many should know by now. I can't get over how awesome these two sing together. As you know I'm a huge Vibration fan and anything they give me is welcome but this song is extremely well put together! Enjoy it!
10 out of 10 <P>
Track 07 - Go Go Girls - Baby Boy
What a happy and excellent song! Nuage and Lolita make a great team (despite all the anger lol...) and I love how the meld nicely in this song. The sound is very cool and the usage of the woah's are like from Running To The Night but aren't the same exact ones. (Man I'm really asking to get whooped with this review aren't I... lol...) I love Nuage's inclusion into the A-Beat C girl groups simply because she's one of my favorite singers and wouldn't mind having more Go Go Girls following this style *waits for axe to fly at his head from a certain person with a name with the number between 8 and 10*
10 out of 10 <P>
Track 08 - Tam Arrow - Rambo Demolition
I like HI-NRG Attack a lot but I'm sorry... this song just sounds too much like other tracks. I actually like this song a lot. The unfortunate thing is the fact most people listening to it will compare it to other tracks they've heard. Can't give it a higher grade than this simply because it uses such
so many similar elements to other songs.
8 out of 10 <S>
Track 09 - Lolita - Hot & Crazy Love
Great Lolita has returned for her second strike on this album. Everyone knows that Lolita knows how to get the job done and hardly dissapoints. Everyone knows that her singing is some of the best in eurobeat. The music is awesome and her style is all her own! Great song!
10 out of 10 <P>
Track 10 - Pretty Woman - Sweet Heart
I'm slightly dissapointed by this song simply because it seems so empty. The singing is pretty good but the music doesn't really blow you away. If it wasn't for that I would have given this song a much higher score but I can not unfortunately...
7 out of 10
Track 11 - Priscilla - The Beat Goes On
Now this is how I want to hear Clara Moroni! Clear without noticeable vocal changes. The music is so beautiful and happy with plenty of feeling. I love how it just makes you feel good from inside. The ladies are really making their showing on this album with excellent tracks. The keys are nice and theres just so much to this song that can't be explained unless you listen to it! Awesome awesome song! Way to go Delta!
10 out of 10 <P>
Track 12 - Bad Gang - Body Guard
Very simliar structurally to Rock & Roll Babe. The guitars are quite nice and the singing is perfect for his voice style. Not a bad song by Time actually. The main knock on it is that it sounds a lot like songs you've heard from them before. But it is still quite cool as it is!
9 out of 10 <G>
Track 13 - Leila - When I Look At You
Clara again? Wow... And I thought Lolita had a lot of songs on this CD! You have to love the singing on this song which is what makes this song so memorable. I'm beginning to sound like a Delta lover all of a sudden but I've been so impressed by their work on this CD. I hope they keep making songs like this because it just so much of a treat to listen to them! I absolutely love the lyrics to this song; perhaps the best thing from this song!
10 out of 10 <P>
Track 14 - Virginelle - Love Is...
Ah... Yummy Elena Gobbi has returned! I love how the song doesn't seem so overpowered in speed yet not slow by any form. I aboslutely am blown away by the quality of this song. Looking at the credits for this song, its no wonder why the song is so good; Elena wrote the song! The lyrics are amazing too! Definately read them! Great stuff!
10 out of 10 <P>
Track 15 - Pamsy - Hello
Oh wow... What a start... This song makes other Pamsy songs tremble in it's feet! Her singing is so overwhelmingly beautiful. The style follows a smiliar pattern to Dancin' Alone but really doesn't sound like it's predecesor. Definately one of SCP's best work released this year. What really sound is when near the end of the song she sings the sabi without bass. Gives it that trance feeling. Quite a piece of work!
10 out of 10 <P>
Track 16 - Nuage Feat. Sonia - I'm Never Gonna Let You Down And Forget You
They should call this the remix of I'm Never Gonna Let You Down And Forget You. They really modified the song from its original version on Sunday which is actually quite welcome that way it doesn't make those that already have it feel like they're getting ripped off. I loved the original but I don't mind this version either. Sonia's singing is definately extremely good and Nuage puts on a great show as well. Again I'm expecting backlash for this review of a Nuage song but I can't help it. I love Nuage!
10 out of 10 <P>
Track 17 - Big Town Guy - John 'N' Mary Dance
Not your typical entrance to a Time song! It's rather speedy. The vocals are really solid and impressive! This is a case in which having that typical Time style is a plus because it just sounds really right! Excellent excellent song but the best part are the lyrics to this song. They really modified the keys for the intro which is really cool too! I can't say anything bad about this song really!
10 out of 10 <P>
Track 18 - Fastway - 777
The most controvertial yet welcome song on the CD! Everyone and their momma's whos into eurobeat has heard this song in some way or fashion. Many a fan's favorite Fastway song. Not a bad song by any accounts I just wish they could have added something new rather than making it just a semi-direct port of the extended mix. But by all accounts one of the highlights of the CD just because of the nostalgia factor!

Heh I dunno.. I mean I totally agree about the overplaying Nuage's been getting lately. And I loved Go Go Girls more when she wasn't there, but I don't have any problems with Baby Boy.. it sounds great, but it was better with Elena and Alessandra.Nine wrote:I agree with you on everything in your review, except for one aspect. Also new Nuage songs would be great to get ;___;
I do not agree about any so called "axe," as Domino was never "axed" from anything in her career.redtarzanboi wrote:So that means you agree with the axe? lolNine wrote:I agree with you on everything in your review, except for one aspect. I'm really disappointed to hear Nuage in the go go girls, not because "omg it's nuage down with her~," it's because Go Go Girls was a Domino and Lolita thing, especially in the more recent songs. Domino has helped produce, write, sing or supervise the production of every Go Go Girls and King & Queen song after Annerley Gordon.
It's a huge disappointment to expect to have Domino apart of an alias where she has been in multiple times before, and then to find out she isn't. If this Go Go Girls song had Karen, Mickey B, Susy Wender, Norma or whoever else instead of her, I would still feel the sadness I feel. It's a kick in the face to me, as I'm always hopeful that there will be an old Domino song in the list of songs Avex still haven't released yet. This one song basically breaks my spirits. This is why I do not like the song, and will never like the song.
It doesn't hurt when I see positive comments made towards this song, it hurts when I see positive comments made towards this song directed to me.
In my mind, the Go Go Girls will never be the Go Go Girls without Domino and Lolita.

Aaawww :CC I feel your pain. The best combination for the Go Go Girls was without doubt Lolita & Domino... All of the best gggs are from them. Although when other girls featured along it was also great. Especially Love Me Tonite. Let's just hope that we'll get more old songs, if it's really a fact that there are so many unreleased songs awaiting.Nine wrote:I do not agree about any so called "axe," as Domino was never "axed" from anything in her career.redtarzanboi wrote:So that means you agree with the axe? lolNine wrote:I agree with you on everything in your review, except for one aspect. How I wish I already bought 155 so that I can discuss it with you guys.
The reviews seems very good and pleased a lot of both old and new fans.
But I promised myself already to buy both 155 and 156 together to save on shipping costs...
Any song here that will inspire controversy like Queen 26? And if yes, what kind? pop? disco? country?
BTW, Elisa - Poison. I heard the song name everywhere but where could it be found? It is not in any SEB at all...

You can find it on VIP Mega Euro Star 3rd Stage which is from FARM Records and you can also find it on the vinyl released from FARM which has a remix of it and a cover of the old song Love Shine A Light (LED seems to be loving to do covers nowadays) and it's on Avex's Gazen! kevin Johnson "Don't Say Goodbye"
Just for you guys' information, this song is a blatant and brilliant rip off of classic 80's song "Are You Ready For Loving Me" by Rene Froger. Delta has truly run out of ideas for sure. The rest of the CD sucks, which really surprises me.
Re: kevin Johnson "Don't Say Goodbye"
Personally I think the song is great and Delta is getting better (in my opinion). The CD is pretty good especially Light My Fire by Giacomo Caria, Pamsy, Dee Dee & Regina and Go Go Girls. Why didn't you like the CD? I always ask people this question when they say it isn't good.beat freak wrote:Just for you guys' information, this song is a blatant and brilliant rip off of classic 80's song "Are You Ready For Loving Me" by Rene Froger.
