MKwiakaku wrote:So, after finally listening to the album (only got it this weekend), I came to the conclusion that Kate Rush isn't Krystal nor Davide (whoever thinks it's Davide picthed up is now known as 'deaf'), but clearly Denise DeVincenzo, formerly known as Nuage.

And I'm not that impressed by this album. Maybe I just need to listen to it more...
It's definately not Nuage. She's busy doing other projects.

Empress OST just came out recently. Monkey Dance has the new synth riff on the long version, compared to the original on 196. Personally, new > original.

Yea, I totally agree. The SEB version is just the same old song with new vocals over it, but the BMDX version is really revamped. Liking it a lot!

Hey y'all! (new to ep forums but not eurobeat!)

Thought I'd post my own little review, my two cents on 196, since I just got it!

One Day/Kate Rush
Nice, I like the vocals. 5/5

Monkey Dance 09/Y&Co. feat. Domino
Eh, I liked the original more. Domino is a nice touch, but it's just the old song with Domino's vocals. 4/5

Mamma Mia/Veronica
I'm a huge ABBA fan but I wasn't a huge fan of this. I have to say it was better than expected, but not the greatest. 3/5

Love in the Elevator/Dave Rodgers
eh, it's typical Dave Rodgers. Not much to say. I liked it. 5/5

Bye Bye Tokyo/Delta Queens
I love Delta Queens, love the vocals, and yes it TOTALLY sounds like a "tribute" to Boom Boom Sexy Lady (one of my favorite older songs) This song is a winner. 5/5

Bright Time/ Jay Lehr
ugh. I did not like this song. it's so malaise. He sounds apathetic. I think the bpm is way too slow. 2/5

Hanami/April
Oh lord, I love this song. even if she says Hanami nasally I love love love it.
I can NOT get enough of this song! (also, the name April=punny neh?)
5/5

Give Me Sunshine/Futura
I love this song. I hated it at first but it really grew on me. Parts of it really remind me of some t.A.T.u song (can't even think of the song) and it's a little annoying, but I like the chord progression. The intro of this song is amazing. 4/5, because some of it sounds a little to breathy, maybe not as strong as I was expecting by the intro

Stargate/Starkly Ice
(all I can think about when I hear this is "Heartache to Heaven"!)
This song is awesome, very sci-fi feely. I also really love the back up vocals.
4/5

Upside Down/Queen 26
I always impatiently await every Queen 26 release. This song was not what I was expecting. It was totally awesome though. Parts of it remind me of Bambino/Maria Short and the intro is totally reminiscent of ParaPara Queen/So Yu Jin. It's fun and funky (dare I say funky fun lover?).
5/5

Pirates/Rich Hard
PIRATES HO! that's all I can say.
5/5

King and Queen/Tora
Eh. King and Queen is my absolute favorite classic Eurobeat Track (second is Superman). This was good, but I guess nothing compares to the original. 4/5

Shot Shot Shot/Giorgia V
I was totally suprised about this track. Everyone was talking about it and I just dismissed it. It's totally fun! I have to say that I am a little put off by the vocals. They're great, don't get me wrong, but something sounds odd about them. 5/5

If you can't already tell I'm a pretty critical listener, but don't get me wrong, even those tracks with twos or threes get played repeatedly until my ears bleed! I'm all for the love of Eurobeat!

Hah, I had the same. I was totally expecting t.A.T.u to appear when I first heard the intro. And when I heard it for the second time. And third time. Heck, even now I still expect those fake lesbians to take over. : P

Ahhh thank you, I knew it was one of their bigger hits!

yeah, I'm glad I'm not the only one who was reminded of t.A.T.u. when I heard this. I thought I was going crazy for a while.

I've pointed out the same thing in my review. On top of that, I've pointed the exact song what that vocal performance appeared.

Don't worry Lebon - I also stated that previously. It's no big deal to be honest as people won't always read the whole topic before posting anyway, but hence the reason I can't be bothered posting reviews anymore.

I apologize, I did read both your reviews but I have a tendency to unintentionally skim what I read . Please don't take it personally. I like reading your guys reviews.
Maybe it's a bother to write reviews when most people don't read them, but I for one do enjoy your reviews, I've been lurking on here a while and often read reviews, in fact it's what inspired me to write one myself.
Anways, I suppose writing reviews when no one reads them might be a waste of time... I didn't even think people would read mine, I frankly just enjoy writing them.

EDIT: also I think when I read both your posts I was pretty much searching for the songs I had heard (I tend to ignore reviews of songs I haven't listened to yet, and at that point I had only listened to four songs off the album, probably a bad habit I know but I kinda don't want it spoiled, I'm a brat that way ^_^;;)
