The only reason people seem to like 193 is the sheer fact that these are remakes of old classics. Once you see past that and view them as just typical eurobeat songs, you'll see that there's really nothing special about them whatsoever.
The reason I believe 193 was so bad (in my humble opinion, of course) is that the theme was VERY specific and not every label had a decent repertoire of remakes, which meant that Avex was forced to accept nearly every song made for this compilation irrespective of how stellar or horrendous they were. In other words, there was no form of 'quality control' on this album, so to speak.
With 195 (which we all agree was much better), Avex was spoilt for choice as every label has a massive repertoire of speedy songs, and as a result there were far more stellar songs to pick up.

Takarou
just the fact that Bratt decided to rerecord the song was an atrocity in itself. Noone can touch the Gino Caria classic. The high pitched effex was all the more reason to hate it.Hah, this makes me want to go on another TYTFIL binge (Dejo's version). I admit the crazy weird high-pitched stuff in the background annoyed me at first, but I don't even notice it anymore. It's become my favorite song of the 190s. XD
