I'm at the point where I think Avex should just have 5 compilations that come out a year (Winter, Spring, Summer, Fall, Special) of 26 songs and have the singles on iTunes. It would be about the same exact number of songs, and a better representation of how the songs should be presented. That's how Eurodance and Trance is released now.
I'm aftraid to ask, but are you saying that you prefer 5 nonstops a year by noting 26 a compilation. :???: :?
In the way I stated, yes. It's gotten to the point where only non-stops sell. I know almost everyone here does not agree with what I'm saying, but how many times do we hear about these mega non-stops selling a great time better than the actual SEB series? Plus that's why I'm stating that the singles should be released on iTunes that way people can get their extended versions should they choose. I hate to state it like this but, electronic music (trance, dance, eurobeat, etc) sells way better in mega mixes that it ever does in full length compilations. I'm for anything that helps the labels out.

And most of the time, songs sound much better in nonstops which is why I go crazy over nonstops. I wouldn't mind that change honestly.

I do like the best of the year megamixes because of the fun transistions and, mostly, good tracklistings. The anniversary discs (200, 210, etc.) tend to be pretty standard and the mixing isn't all that great. From what I heard in the past, the megamixes tended to sell more, but with the more recent directors of the series, they moved towards the old school extended albums. I would still like to see 7A revert back to the 18 radio edits so we could hear more from the labels. My theory is that SEB went back to extended mixes is because labels are putting out/producing as many songs like they have in the past.

Weather nonstops sell more or not, they leave much to be desired. I say a BIG thumbs down to nonstops and no more edits either. I like the extended format just the way it is right now.

As controversial as it may be, I actually think thejti's suggestions make a lot of sense, but only if the labels have enough freedom to actually release a decent amount of singles outwith the main album releases. I buy the SEB albums from iTunes anyway, and they always have the extended versions on there irrespective of the physical CDs being non-stop or not, so I do believe that suggestion makes a lot of sense!

Heck, 5 albums with 25/26 songs is more than 10 albums with 12 news songs on it, and we don't even get that with the end/start of decade rehash that Avex currently throws out for the XX0 albums, so I'm all for it! thejti - you have now been promoted to Avex Head of Marketing and Sales Strategy - congrats :P

There's maybe more but for people like me, good quality matters. Since itUnes Japan is NOT iTunes Plus and offers crap quality, when you buy that iTunes card, better think about it twice. EXTENDED above every other formats.

Btw, if I would be the head of the label, I would fire thejti.

Yes, but some people aren't audiophiles that dismiss anything less than FLAC (but I don't want to get into this debate that's been played out on these forums more times than I can count...)

The main point I was making was that so long as the extended versions were still available for download online (no matter what website or service offered them), it doesn't matter to me whether non-stops or extended version albums are released.

I don't honestly think the series will go in the direction of non-stop only anyway...

I've heard the Hotblade and Jay Lehr tracks already which were wonderful (hint, hint go to iTunes!). And does anyone else get the mental picture of wheelchairs on nitro with the Dejo & Bon song? Finally, let's talk about how awesome the Ken & Domino duet could be. Oh, wasn't Sunday Morning on the Best of 2009, if I'm not mistaken?

Ken Lazlo Feat. Domino... WTF. Happy to see Legendary Heart. Jailhouse Rock may be an Elvis Presley cover.... well, seeing Speedogang... I'm pretty sure it's a cover. Happy to see that Avex FINALLY decided to release a non-stop only song...

I love I WON'T FALL APART by Jager but... is it a re-release of the Eurobeat version or, is it the Rock Power version or the Demo one added here?

One of the most WTF cover of the SEB series... but we have an improvement : the volume number is back.

Oooh, I forgot that we're less than one month away from a new SEB!!

So from that tracklist, we have:

SCP: 3
Hi-NRG Attack: 3
Dima: 2
Saifam: 2
Sun Fire: 2
SinclaireStyle: 1
Delta: 1
Go-Go's: 1 (I take it the Domino track is Go-Go's...)

Looks like 7A's love for SCP, HRG and Dima goes on...

Also, yay for Legendary Heart - that track really deserves to be on an SEB, and as an opening track to the new decade it's an awesome choice!

YES!!!!!!
02 WHEELPOWER & GO! / DEJO & BON
ALSO YES!!!!!!
03 SUNDAY MORNING / VICKY VALE
Title doesn't hit me as very Eurobeat-y, but we've been surprised by titles before.
04 CHERRY LIPS / FRANCIS COOPER
Another slow song, I'll guess... this'll most likely be good, but when will we see fast songs again?
05 FALLIN' IN LOVE AGAIN / JAY LEHR
This one was okay, glad to see it on SEB.
06 THE HOUSE OF FIRE / DAVE RODGERS
Again, not the best title, but I imagine he'll make it okay.
07 I BELIVE IN MIRACLE / LILLY
Another Slow-NRG song...
08 JAILHOUSE ROCK / SPEEDOGANG
Not sure what to make of this one.
09 MAKE ME WONDER / DESTINEE
Nice.
10 DON'T WANNA BE A SURVIVOR / DAVID DIMA
YES!!!!!
11 ALOHA-OE UNTIL WE MEET AGAIN / SARAH
Another Lilo & Stitch song??
12 GOGO THE NIGHT / GARCON
Ooh, this one actually sounds like it might be fast. Keep your fingers crossed!
13 LONELY / FUTURA
As long as it doesn't sound like I'm Superstar I'm okay with it.
14 LET'S GET IT DONE TONIGHT / KEN LASZLO feat. DOMINO
Ooh, this ought to be interesting! Nice to see Ken back.
Bonus
15 I WON'T FALL APART / JAGER
My guess is that this is a rock or pop remix... whatever. I liked the original, anyway, so I guess I don't mind.

So far, this is shaping up to be an excellent album. I'll wait for the samples to better judge, though.
A lot's changed in the decade and a half I've been here.

The new SEB format lets SEB contain 14 Eurobeat tracks and 1 special version, I assume it's the Rock Power or the Demo version of I WON'T FALL APART.
