speed
I first got intouch with the Italian sound somewhere in 1986. The bpm was totally different. Much slower, I'll guess from 110 till 125.
Ofcourse during the years it went up, I had no problem with it.
Getting intouch with Eurobeat a view years ago was a kind of shock to me.
The music, vocals where still fantastic but the speed was to much for me.
I could not enjoy the melodies and vocals.
Lucky for me I found a software tool who helps me to lower the bpm if neccessary. The sound and vocals don't get distroyed. The production is only 'time streched' and therefore for me suiteable to listen to. The bpm levels are between 136 to 144 (at the maximum for tracks created by HI-NRG and Vibration).
So for me this is the way to listen to fantastic work from 'master' producers like Laurent e Andrea, Giancarlo e Sandro and ofcourse Stefano e Evelina etc. etc.
I still like after all those years, it's still FANTASTICOOOOOoooo ...
Ronald.
P.s: nice the hear that Mauro Farina is the vocal on this Boom Boom release.
And yes Laurent indeed he's the 'grandmaster' of Eurobeat.
Cause did most of the producers did start there career with Mauro?
Like you, Sandro e Giancarlo and 'famous' voices like Clara and Gino Caria.

saifam family
History:
in 1985 I used to work as freelance in different studios.
A friend playing in Mauro's band told me he needed a sound engineer for extra job, like weekend recordings or late evening sessions.Coz the guy in charge,S.Oliva, used to do a standard 10-7 working day.
I did every kind of things from folkmusic to classical,radio,soundtracks...etc.
One night I recorded my first italo dance vocals. The song was "fly to me" and I remember the singer,a guy from mantova, writing down the lyrics in "phonetic english" just like "flaii tu mi",...you know what I mean?
Then we shared some recordings; on Tell me why by Virgin Sandro started the thing and I did the final mix.
He decided to leave and start a new biz,so I became the official engineer at Factory Studios.
We all saifam children in the eurobeat biz.
Farina-Crivellente-Newfield the working team
Maiolini the executive producer
Clara,Elena,Daniela the girls.
G.Carlo,Gino,Gianni,Mauro the boys.
Natale,Arduini keyboard players in Mauro's live band Caravan, and sometimes arrangers.

Very much appreciated to hear more about the backgrounds of the eurobeat history. Like redtarzanboi said earlier on, all the information you've provided is very highly appreciated and also wanna thank you for giving us fans the chance to ask these questions :)
And also loved to read that bit about history, would need to work some of the history section on my site obviously all over :x.

..About Saifam. Thier intros are questionable..almost transy drumbeats. I don't particularly care for that, but they make up for it with thier melody..and that's a plus
recent songs that work well for me at high BPMs and vocals are:
John & Mary Dance- Big Town Guy
All HRG Attack songs by girls
Terminator-Overload
Incredible Love- De La Vega
Mako- Shell Fire
All King & Queen songs

For the original question:
I don't care so much the speed if the song is cool.
I mean above 160 bpm may too fast for me.
Hi Hi Mazinga is just so cool as Stephy Martini - Emotions or King Kong's Bingo.
I love all the good songs in Eurobeat style since the 90's.
Of course I like the Italo Disco too, but nowadays I listen them less.
This is a music fever?
