How did the loud grinding sound you hear in non-stop Eurobeat mixes come about? The only other genre I have heard it in is Psytrance. I love it, and wish there was more of it!

I don't know what psychtranse is ,but I know exactcly what effect you mean. Its that sound you hear when the percussion or drum roll effects are speeded up. You get a program like audacity, pinpoint a certain bar or series of notes and repeat them a few x. You'll get that sound you want. the "Machine Gun" effect. You can someTIMEs hear that effect on certain HRG Attack songs too.

you should be able to identify elements and influences reminescent of hi-nrg in there, notably the bass, use of guitars, overall energy and dance factor.
