EURO-DUB-BEAT-STEP
Hey guys, what's going on?
I took a brief break from the Eurobeat community because people introduced me to Dub-Step.
Now I can't stop thinking how, if I didn't have a damn potato for a computer, how I would remix some classic Euro tracks into Dub-style. And vice-versa.
I notice that DUBSTEP is popular in Japan all of a sudden. I'm hearing Dubstep in my anime and everything, holy crap.
FWIW, I only listen to GOOD Dub-step like Skism, Devour, Captain Panic, 16bit, xKore, Dcult, Cyberoptics, EXCISION, and Noisia. Not garbage like Skrillex.....

Heh, I had the same idea about a year ago and I confronted SCP with the idea of Dubstepbeat/Eurodubstep. Evelina Somenzi told me they had no idea how dubstep was built, and dubstep artists have no clue of eurobeat altogether.
There was some talking to someone who did have at least some experience with both genres, but it didn't really work out. Possibly because eurobeat is rather fast paced and happy themed, and dubstep is quite a bit slower and has a darker feel to it.
It might be a fun challenge to take a eurobeat acapella of around 140bpm and set it to a dubstep track, though. :D

Exactly. It's not like... when you're a music producer. You can produce like any genre on the world. It's a whole new way of production for each genre, which makes it hard for Eurobeat producers (of whom some have produced Eurobeat exclusively for 20+ years) to start producing dubstep. (And vice versa)

Back when I actually had a working computer, I used to make dubstep tunes.MKwiakaku wrote:Heh, I had the same idea about a year ago and I confronted SCP with the idea of Dubstepbeat/Eurodubstep. I have a vague idea of how to make eurobeat, but not much. Or else I'd already have friggin' made, like, SO much Eurobeat, and become famous in Japan.

Also, I like how Eurobeat is popular again now that Initial D has returned to the anime scene. Good stuff! I am enjoying this a lot!
AND Gran Turismo 6 is coming out soon!

The only dubstep and eurobeat mix that I know of is a mix by Travis (Odyssey Eurobeat).

It's leaning more towards dubstep, but it still has some great synth riffs.

Don't like dustep. Don't like it in rock. Once in a great while some artist will insert it into a pop song and not make it sound aweful, but I don't think I will like it in Eurobeat.

Noooooooooooooooooo!

Oh, well. Hm, I dunno about all these new names. I feel weird without, like, a Fastway and a Mega NRG Man and a Dave Rodgers and a Lolita track all in close proximity to each other.

It seems like getting 223 was a good idea after all! Now to complete the rest. Thanks a lot for the suggestions.

That's the one of 3 dubstep things that doesn't rape my ears. The other two songs that kind of use dubs that doesn't rape my ears :para_rigby wrote:There was that great Dubstep breakdown during Odyssey's remix of Spectrum. How fun to remix eurobeat and dubstep together!!
