Digital Emotion did it best with

I prefer this style, cuz I did it at the clubs. Not in 1983, but during the Hi Nrg revival in 1987-88. I was a teen

Not really parapara dancing or related to it (aside from being choreographed) but the song is nice.

of course its not parapara. Parapara obviously stemmed from the Hi NRG danceing of the 80's as did the style of Eurobeat
Anyway, that Digital Emotion video isn't even the real Hi-NRG dancing that I was involved in back in the late 80's. Our dance movements actually resembled more the Japanese style Parapara, but were danced at the speed of the record. Fast! That's something that parapara does not do.

I'm actually using that track in a new euro mix.
What do you mean when you say 'dance the speed of the record'? The original bpm of this track is in the 120's.

I was too.young small to club in 1983. I'm talking of songs like STOP- Rendezvous, Mike Bow- Love & Devotion ect. that came out in 1986-88. They were already pretty fast, but the clubs played them faster as do the parapara djs. With that said: we still did rather rapid arm movements to songs that were in the 130 bpms.
Its actually the reverse of Japanese parapara style. They dance slow to fast music. We danced fast to slower NRG style. Crazy
