That one special album, cd or vinyl

Post by alpines » 07 Oct 2017, 07:48

There's been one thing that has been wondering me a lot.

Did anyone of you ever made the experience to buy a album, cd, vinyl or similar where every, and I really mean every, song was a solid 10/10?
I, personally, am very picky and therefore there hasn't been a single SEB where I could say that for example.

But aside SEB, there hasn't been anything like that either, maybe a few releases coming close to that but never the full release.
I imagine others being not that picky and maybe having one or two of these but it's still very rare to find something completely perfect.

Not to forget: I'm not talking about single song releases or promo albums with 2 or 3 songs on it. There should be at least 5 - 10 songs on it.
The non-stop mixes of SEB are great but I couldn't say that every song mixed in there is one of my favorites (but they still make a great mix though).

Age, era and genre doesn't matter. Just like to know if someone could find anything like that.

Super Eurobeat vol.195 ~Speedy~ for Lebon14 and me
Almost perfect for me, I just don't like the background "Rock" in Mad Max - Rock You.
I would rate it 9,5/10

Any long play release of your favorite artist, producer not including many years of his work, but discography from a short period may be the closest to the experience you described.

There are two CDs for me.
The first one is 202, there's not a single song on it I don't like.

The other CD is "Vocaloid Laboratory". I bought the album only for one song, a cover of "Yowamushi Montblanc". Now this is probably my favorite CD of my entire collection. There's also a cover of "Lily Lily Burning Night" on it which is Eurobeat. The genres on it are everything from Rock over Pop to Ballad songs. :)

Super Eurobeat 087. It was originally kind of mediocre to me, but now...my god. Every single track off of it is a total classic.

Euromach 1 is another really precious record to me. I can't count how many times I would go running by the coast after school while listening to that mega-mix, and I usually hate nonstop.

I once thought about what my 7 favourite albums are (1 for every day in the week). There is no SEB because there are always songs that didn't catch me.
Here's my list (in no particular order):

The Beatles - Revolver
The Prodigy - Music for the Jilted Generation
Indochine - Le Baiser
Malicorne - Almanach
Laserdance - Future Generation
Manowar - The Triumpf of Steel
King Crimson - Three of a Perfect Pair

Now I should put all my effort in creating an album that will get on such lists too. :)

Edit: But I think I should also add Tears for Fears - Songs from the Big Chair (so a week needs 8 days now)

I'm sure there is a Eurobeat SEB or two where I liked every single song, but I can't recall. I can recall a few Non eurobeat albums tho.

The Cars - Candy -O (1979)
and most recently, like this year.
Dreamcar LP
The band consists of Davey havok from AFI and members of No Doubt, sans poppy Gwen .

Oh, if genre doesn't matter...

These have to be two of the best Happy Hardcore CDs ever released!

That one is very good!

My special albums were all released by Alfa International. Good songs, no exceptions:

Mela - Love Stories
Aleph - Take My Life
Alphatown - Japan
Superlove - How Deep Is Your Love

And in non-eurobeat : Daft Punk - Discovery
