What Avex quoted was one of oricon genre charts, not the main album chart(weekly TOP300 albums). However, the album did sell slightly more than 247 and 248.

LOL... Of course, they needed to hide the fact that it did do poorly anyway and that they wanted to stroke their ego by looking in the sepcific genre charts to make it seems like it did good.

Eurobeat has a good boom happening right now! Black DIamond with their "from 2000" unit song "チョベリグーLucky♡Day" Thelma Aoyamas "世界の中心" and Machiko did a whole episode on ParaPara, as well as another variety show. Then there's GANG PARADE with Yui's new single "like a virgin". Plus DA PUMP with their USA cover got pretty big too. They recently brought a new lingo in ダサかっこいい so overall, there's a reason why SEB 249 sold pretty well.
Like if you pay attention to Japanese media it's thriving in comparison to how it was before. Avex doesn't have a reason to "stroke their ego" it's -legit- exciting ahaha

An half-assed effort. If the bang was real, it would be with original tracks and not remixes. And Da Pump's track is not Eurobeat in the slightest.

I was the same doubful regarding the quick result of next "boom", especially thanks to non-Eurobeat Da-Pump, but SEB 249 indeed got this 12th position.

Yes, and as i mentioned, that Dance & Soul chart is one of Oricon's various subsidiary charts. Most of the japanese listeners do not even know that there is such a chart. Although i don't currently have full access to previous charts, i reckon that 247 and 248 charted at almost same position on Dance & Soul chart.

For the actual first week sales number, 247 sold 368 copies. 248, 343 copies and 249, 399 copies. So technically, it did sell more than previous albums.

Then there's GANG PARADE with Yui's new single "like a virgin".

That Like a Virgin song is gross. Lyrics of the song starts with this phrase: "Deka Tin" which is a slang for male genitalia and goes on and on with all kinds of sexual slangs which i do not want to translate to this forum. Besides, it was not released as a "real" single and more like a one-shot joke solo debut. Apparently producers of the song considered eurobeat is not a serious field of music. Songs like that only degrades general public's perception on eurobeat.

sure it's not a massive boom, and totally aware of the artificial popularity it's making, but you just gotta tell people whats popular, how it is now.
no one's making a -real- effort to make a boom cause no one actually cares, but right now it's a fun idea to bank some nostalgia on. I don't mind it, we all know eurobeats dead, i'm just not bitter about it.
ALSO I LOVE EGG MV FINALLY CAME OUT, I wasn't a fan at first but it's SUPER gal and i'm livin for it

As someone whos in the para circles and ended up first hand dealing with the machiko program recently, it's a lot of fun. Clubs are getting full again, starfire choreo is fun again, euro artists have a new wind in them, and everyone who's there is actually having a really good time right now. There was more than 20 people at B1 recently!
