Please help with song identification!

Post by songplease » 13 Sep 2020, 08:09

Hello all! I was at a party last night and this eurobeat song played and I want to find what it was. It sounded like 80s to early 90s eurobeat, female singer, and the chorus followed the typical IV V iii vi old eurobeat chord progression. The lyrics in the chorus were something along the lines of "don't wait for tomorrow" and "live for today", and the repeating vocal hook was a three syllable phrase like "don't leave it". I hope this is enough information for someone to recognise what song I'm talking about! Thanks :)

That's not it, but it does sound pretty similar to the song I was describing! Thank you for trying, and if you have other guesses, I want to hear them!

Don't have any clues yet? Similar songs, artist or period. Was it a megamix?

I don't think I can really describe the song any more than I have. It was not part of a megamix; it was a single track on Spotify. I tried to remember the melody as best I could and made a demo recording here: https://vocaroo.com/9SNG2kl1ymn

Megan - Move On Now Baby

????

Closest to your lyrics description, not early 90's eurobeat though, otherwise I'm stumped.
Come to me into my life, try to see thru my eyes
Stop the time of your sorrow
Don't be the one who goes by, be the one who
Knows why we can't wait for tomorrow

So! Don't ever miss the train!
Get in! Get up! Get in! Get on!
So! Don't sleep on, so! Just be on
I'll be ready for you...

Move on now baby - Don't wait
Look around honey and play
Don't believe in such as easy world

I can show you how
I'll do it for you

Look, I'm the lady for you, and I'm ready for 2
Don't you say that you're not sure
Hey! Or you're in or you're out, say a yes and I'll shout
It's the time for your own more

Thank you for trying, but that is not the song. I'm still no closer to finding out what it is. I'm surprised it's this hard to find, especially considering I remember parts of the lyrics, the general era, and even the chord progression. I am not sure what other ways to search for it.

You had to record a fragment of sound or immediately use shazam.

^ that. Elsewise lyrics search is usually my first port of call, it can be hard depending on whether lyrics have been posted somewhere online, and sometimes lyrics can be easily miss heard making it more difficult to find.

Try to write all the approximate parts of the lyrics. Also your assumptions about the label.
