Has anyone purchased downloadable songs from Saifam? I was wondering what sort of quality they put them up for download in? MP3? WMA? Lossless (my preferred method of music download, but sadly not many content providers seem to offer this

)

Calm down a bit on this please, I know I went overboard poo-pooing online music quality on more than one occasion, but it's a valid complaint.
I sympathize with the labels because at the moment providing high quality downloads is tough from a business/technology standpoint (though there are a few indy distritutors who offer flac).
If a SEB album was badly mastered and say, ended up mono and out of pitch, would you come around and call people "bitter" for complaining about it? it's our money spent, or not spent. but I'd personally /love/ to spend it if the quality was up to par.

192 is plenty good enough for me. I don't really understand why people have to have everything sounding so perfect. 192 still sounds pretty damn good, plus it takes up less room on your comp.

If SEB was made my a company that can barely stay open then I probably would but sincei t's done by Avex it's a totally different story, Live Music however has nowhere never the amount of money that Avex or saifam has, they are doing the best they can but obviously that is not good enough for you. I am annoyed that people just can be grateful that they are bothering to release stuff outside of Avex in the first place in stead of bitching and moaning

(Oh, the thread is about saifam... that's right, ahem)
Yep, saifam's stuff is fine from what I've heard, it's plain MP3 and a decent bitrate, and seems to be a decent encoder (doesn't sound worse than you'd expect it to).
They're "OK" in my book.

Yeah, I sympathize ... I know LMS is doing what they can, they can't please everyone, and they need to make money to keep going, but I don't think you'd stop too many LMS fans from buying the music because of minor quality issues. dispite a few people's whining (mine

).
iTunes is a nice widespread service, and who knows they might allow labels to offer apple lossless sometime down the line (or LMS could change to a service that offerers flac/mp3

), pleasing everyone, it was just a shock when news was relayed that the CDs weren't planned to be released. but who knows what the future holds.

I've downloaded a dozen or so tracks from Saifam since they started to offer downloads. The quality for me is not a problem. When I've got the bass beat(Z) going on in my car, I'm not worried about getting "The Hi-Fi"'s. I listen for the fun and the speed.
192KB/sec mp3s work very well for me.

"192 pretty good"
"192 works good for me"
Have you ever listened music on a home stereo system?
I think not, music on pc is just for background-noise...

Just because you are super anal about quality doesn't mean it's not good enough for everyone else. Just get over it already everyone else has
