That's why I need the cd releases...Jayveemon wrote:Just because you are super anal about quality doesn't mean it's not good enough for everyone else. Just get over it already everyone else has
They shouldn't say that the compressed music is excellent.
In this way the cds will lost and I don't want it...

I'll add my voice to this conversation because I feel Ricfiam is taking a lot of flak over something that is actually of critical importance.
If record companies start to get the impression that NOBODY cares about keeping music in its _intended_ form (i.e. uncompressed), then we'll lose CDs altogether in favour of compressed music over broadband internet.
Personally speaking, I'm pretty anal about music quality as well - I can easily tell the difference between 192kbps MP3 and uncompressed CD because I have an exceptional pair of headphones that I use for all my listening, and I can hear the drop-out in the high-end of the audio. So for my own collection I tend to rip in Ogg Vorbis at ~500kbps. The only reason I don't use FLAC is because for Eurobeat it tends to average ~1000kbps and the difference between Vorbis 500kbps and uncompressed is absolutely minimal.
However, as long as CD versions of music continue to be available I have no beef with lesser quality versions being available to people who choose to pay online instead.
Unfortunately the trend seems to be that more content providers prefer to switch to online as an easier medium to reach people, which is great - but please, PLEASE spare us the fate of poorly-compressed audio and give us the choice over which medium we download music in. Ultimately, compressing music introduces artifacts which were never meant to be in the audio, and what you take away from the music, you take away from the artist's intended vision.

At least they are offering the newer para para music in it's full version format of 4.5 to 5 minutes each instead of the chopped off 4 mintued SEB versions that we are limited to when we buy SEB's.
It's also great they are offering the older Asia stuff that is out of print.
True, maybe a better mp3 could be offered for the price (appx $1.20 each song), but it is better to be able to get the music online than not get it at all.......................and many people wouldn't be able to have this music unless they get lucky on ebay or a used cd shop.
SAIFAM is giving us a great service that Ala Bianca, Time, A Beat C, etc have yet to offer.

Bore,
no problem here, we are clean.
DJ Mike,
thanks for your words, truly speaking from my heart!
Jayveemon,
sorry, but you never can convince me about the compressed music's priority. If I annoying you and your fans, OK, I just want to keep alive the music you like...

I have spent the night to try out Saifam and their downloads, and what can i say: very good. Saifam is almost my number one. The classic eurobeat of Saifam is worldclass, and the best parts is as good as Stock aitken and waterman.
The downloading went fine, but two of the three files i downloades was mx/appications. You could play it, but not choose a program to open it, so i doubt, i can burn the files (and play them), and that is annoying.
But just to have the chanse to download files, you relly can´t find is ultimate.
I just love it.
I hope they will release the opportunity to download every version of every song.
