My first anime was "Alfred J. Kwak". It's an anime with a dutch story. It was one of the most populair cartoons in the Netherlands.
I think it's called "Ahiru no Kuwaku" in Japanese and "Quack the duck" in english... At that time I didn't realize it was anime.
After that was Samurai Pizzacats and Pokemon.

I guess the first anime I say (apart from Ghost in the Shell) was the Guyver series...which was like "totally über super cool!!! \o/" when you're a 10 year old kid (and still cool ofc!). (Actually, this reminds me of someone who promised to send me a bunch of Guyver DVDs
)
I've watched my share of Dragonball etc as well, but I honestly find that series quite bleak (read: boring beyond repair).
Hm, another early anime experience springs to mind...except I have no idea what it was called - perhaps someone can enlighten me?
It was about this guy who worked as a bodyguard, and one day he had to protect this old guy who had to go to some place and meet with...the evil rival race or something to make peace, and of course that turns out to be a massacre...but then in the end, the guy finds out that he is the solution to peace or such, and the old guy he was meant to protect was merely bait so he'd fulfill his destiny...or something like that.

Um hmm.... My first exposure to anything manga was reading Adam Warren's Dirty Pair (when I was 11
) and I thought it was uber pro. My actual first anime I watched, I can't really remember to be honest. Could have been the Street Fighter one...
I'm not so into anime now, but some of the actual manga is still nice to read, like Urusei Yatsura and Battle Angel Alita.

Originally I thought my first was Pokémon. Then over time I found out that one of the movies my mom had recorded and played for me and my siblings at a reaaaaaally young age (think 2 or 3) was none other than Unico in the Island of Magic (now a somewhat rare find). So... I blame my parents.

A lot's changed in the decade and a half I've been here.
