Neo- The King Of Chinatown sholuld be a QUEEN

Post by drnrg » 15 May 2006, 08:43

I was listening to this song and it suddenly dawned on me that the lyrics are kinda "QUeer". Here is an example from the chorus:
I’m the king of Chinatown
Open your heart
C’mon boy
Take me into your Chinatown
I’ll give you baby what you’re looking for

he goes on talking about love behind him and goes as far as to call himself a queen. Great song and one of my favs, but WTF?

This reminds me of a song sung by Dave Hammond(Gino Caria)-"Loverboy" just as queer if not more so.
Could these songs have been originally for female singers, but since too powerful, were given to the most "macho" images on the lable?

...and don't even get me started on Mako- In The Stars
Still one of my favs from the past year! :D

Heh I still prefer singing Manuel's Big Boy with the queer lyrics instead of the actual ones :P Eurobeat vocalists MUST be gay

would it really make a difference if manuel was gay or not (based on my impression of him in the 150/160DVD he's a huge 'mo but that's not the point...) they just sing whatever they are given

Not to mention a lot of them might not be 100% sure about what it is that they're even saying ^^;

Lolita sang the Eurobeat version of "When She Loved Me," does that mean she's a lesbian? :P

Would that make Mickey B. her lover? And then they broke up shortly after, hence the solo on that other cd?

Hahaha, interesting topic. *grins*

Hey, how about Meet My Friend by Eddy Huntington?
Meet My Friend, he knows every little trick
Meet My Friend called Dick
I'm sure he's saying, "I'm an artist, so why don't you work out with me?"
Just take your time, But don't be shy
Let yourself go with the attraction
I'm sure he'd like you
And I'm sure you'd like him, too
My friend wants to meet you
And you'll find the four of us.
that is to say, me, my cock, you and your cock, right?

I need more of this kind of lyrics.

Yeah , but Eddy on the other hand looks gayer than a Village People Train.

That made me laugh, but maybe they want to appeal to the gay crowd.
Take for instance TIME's older 90's cover photos. Tommy K. "Desperado"(gay) Dr. Money"Celebrate" (Leather and giant condoms)
infact that Bald guy used on Toby Ash,Robert Patton and Dr. Money had to be gay. , but the prize goes to Joe Yellow- Wild Boy

Anyways, the hilarious part about it all is, that as queer as the lyrics may be, We ALL sing along :D

...and for the record, I remember reading somewhere that Paul Lekekis is no where near gay! Go figure.

Well take a look at Dead Or Alive- "Sex Drive"

EX: Sex Drive, He sees no gender or color
so let's get together and collide with each other
Sex drive, Ha you know how it feels
so get out of my car and get under my wheels
Sex Drive.
The pg-rated version.

LOL...

http://www.modamag.com/paullekakisinterview.htm

Paul Lekakis: "I've been gay since I was 16-years old, so I've been gay for 21 years."
