My Super Eurobeat STOLEN! :(

Post by clubraf » 17 Jun 2006, 02:26

In what may be the biggest shock for the thief that unceremoniously ripped the CD player straight from my car, at somepoint they will turn it on to find one of my favorite SEB discs inside.

SUPER EUROBEAT 158 : MIA

Some have opinions that 158 was not a good disc. My opinion differs otherwise. From the beautifully crafted "Victim", the hardcore sonic overload of "Power Of Sound", the refreshingly delicious, "Inside Your Heart", even the overlooked vocal chords of "I Can't Stay Without Your Love", my heart goes out to all of them.

The jewel case sits empty. The pretty blue cover remains, but the soul, the shiny, even magical silver disc that it once contained, gone.

The incredible rarity of coming across any Super Eurobeat disc in America is staggering, let alone my favorite, 158 is beyond rare.

If there is something that can be positive in my circumstance, it is that the next midnight special pawn shop buyer of my stolen car cd player will discover the counter pop-culture music that it will contain inside.

I will not be completely depressed about this matter of sorts, as the mp3 rip of the disc remains on my computer. A case for legal backups!

Oh dear, that's too bad...but if I were you, I would grieve over the
cd player rather than seb.

8)Exactly. I have an Explode. I know if some thief stole that I would cry many tears. SEb 158 is certainly a GEM, but what will a new cd player cost you? May I suggest an alrm?

I'd sit down and cry for an entire day if someone stole one of my SEB cd's. ;_;

The CD player itself is almost a non-issue. The old Xplod that was in there was one of the first generation models. It wasn't exactly working that well to begin with. That CD player would fetch $30 on eBay on a good day. I have already installed a new player in the car. I guess I value my SEB more than a cd player.

CD players are easily replaceable. SEB discs are not.

Damn, bad luck, I didn't think anyone bothered to steal head units anymore. Once a thief tried to steal my car CD player, but he managed to rip all the wires instead, without stealing it, but it was ruined anyway. But he got my amp instead. :(

Yeah, I like "Victim" and "Inside Your Heart" as well.

Dude. IT'S A CD... It's mostly polycarbonate! The magic is in the music, not the disc!

Just order another copy?

LOL, I once bought an Alpine CD head unit from a Police auction (this was after the thief ruined my previous one), I can assure you I threw the "global" music disc I found inside inside went straight in the trash. :D

I have all my CDs as lossless copies on my hard drive. :D Maybe it's better to burn copies of SEB for use on the move.

$30 dollar cd player vs importing *one* SEB cd...

Yeah, I can feel the pain. (Er, that's supposed to be serious, but could come out as sarcastic, but it's not.)

Er... costs about the same here (depending on the shipping option.) And no hastles with installing a new car CD player. How much does it cost you to ship?

I don't know... You first posted about a month after Newfield's last post... And you certainly know something about the business, and songwriting...

Although you have complimented other labels...

Say, do you like mushrooms? :P

LOL I don't think so. First of all, UQ100's voice was different from
Laurent's and they are different in the way of typing. 8)
