Because I think it could give the generation who don't know PWL sound
opportunities to get an interest in it even if arrangements are somewhat
differ from the originals and the quality is deluded.
Well, I support the basic idea. I quite like some of the 'new' PWL/SAW-style tracks. (Even if used for promoting dick-chopping procedures?)

Of course, if the apparent SAW reunion pans out...

http://www.thesun.co.uk/article/0,,4-2006280070,00.html

...maybe that won't be necessary... or maybe the reunion won't produce new music of interest.
That Nuage version was that terrible? I enjoyed it more than a bit cuz at least the melody and chord progression would be the same.
Hmm, not sure the chords are right, but overall, it's a poor quality arrangement/production, and vocal phrasing is bad. It went from a brilliant SAW song to a banal dance production, just shows how poor arrangement/production ruins a good song.

BTW, I found this interview with Dave Rodgers the other day, about that Sonia/Nuage track:

We need a new version of some DOA songs like "Brand New Lover" and "Something In My House" (an idea for a new Scream Team song) :P

Of course there are many sub-styles of PWL/SAW sound. With SAW, it ranges from Princess (soul) to Divine to Mel & Kim (house) to Kylie/Jason (more towards "pure pop") stuff. If you look up Mike Stock on the BMI database he's had nearly 400 songs published, and that can't be his entire repetoire. No shortage of different material that could be used as "inspiration" for new stuff. Too many tracks I like. (How about "Nothing's Gonna Stop Me Now"--Samantha Fox... :) except, I can't think of any way to improve it!)

:D "Energy" is a great track.

So that project was initiated by Avex. Heh, interesting.

I liked "I Only Wanna Be With You" as well as it. :)

he said something like he didn't want to duplicate the same sound as DOA :?: which i find pretty odd considering all the songs he's produces as homage to them.

So you mean how much weight the workmanship of the sound engineer and the mixer carrys, right? Besides the difference in the skill as a singere between Sonia and Nuage is evident.

Naughty Doctor!! "Naughty Girl" seems a bit off from hi-nrg.

At least two amazing songs coming up from A.Beat-C:

Neo-Midnight Love
A.Gordon-Stay Tonight

Both are gonna lift the 170's up to a whole new level!

Well, quality of the workmanship of the musicians/sequencing, and the style.
oresama-chan wrote:Besides the difference in the skill as a singere between Sonia and Nuage is evident.
That's for sure. But producer can also put in effort to try and get the vocals of a lesser singer right, even the worst singers on SAW productions still sound good. Then again, Sonia trounces Nuage on "I'm Never Gonna Let You Down and Forget You" as well.

Seems there is more than one version out there, I seem to have the bad version. It sounds like the beginning of crap "DJ culture" music. :(

What style do you call "Touch Me"?

"Touch Me" and "I Surrender (to the Spirit of the Night)" are both first rate, it-doesn't-get-better-than-this songs. Unfortunately the synth guy/co-songwriter on those never did any more pop and went back to doing his instrumental synth music!
drnrg wrote:anyway Samantha is "Huge"
She's not so "HUGE" anymore... but she's still hot!! (Well, excepting she's over 40 now.) Nice full and toned body, not that waif nonsense. She's quite a good singer, too.

What I'm waiting for in 170's

Go Go Girls :D

More new Annerley... maybe using Annalise with a new XXX Love song? Or a new remake of say.... New Love?

Of course lots more Elena Gobbi :D

More MALE Delta than in 160  Other than those from Akyr (hopefully), I'd like to hear songs new Niko, D.Essex and Mako.
Linda & Phil could cover Especially For You.
That would be interesting, though I never liked that song... the music clip was so cheesy

Speaking of PWL covers I think it would be interesting to cover.

Step Back In Time
Better The Devil You Know
Dance Your Love Away
Happenin' All Over Again

:P

That interview, Dave sure gave extremely short answers.

Generally SAW/PWL music videos were terrible!!

I have to say it's one of the best SAW compositions, it has quite a complex and interesting chord progression for instance, but you may not like the style and find the lyrics a bit slushy.

Good stuff...
Shawaazu wrote:Dance Your Love Away
Wow, that's one deep in the archives, seems there's a 6 minute version on "I Love Disco Diamonds 8" but I don't know if that's exactly like the original.
Shawaazu wrote:That interview, Dave sure gave extremely short answers.
It seemed like he was not exactly interested in Sonia or those songs.

"Naughty Girls" is nowhere near NRG, but a nice Freestyle flavoured song. DOA also did a Freestyle flavoured song with "Come Home With Me Baby" As for , "Turn Around and Count to 10" is definately one of my favs. So so much like "I Wanna Love You"-Max Coveri. a super great SAW and Newfield compostion.

UQ100 wrote: quote]What style do you call "Touch Me"?[[/quote]

I call it "Arena Rock" just change her vocals to Joe Elliot's and you got a DEf Leppard song. Not to put them down, because they are my fav rock band :D

Both Newfield and Pasquinni have made DOA flavoured songs. The question is who does them better. I think Newfield :D

DELTA= Shy Gun- ODA(Even the name is a hint)
TIME= Heartbreaker- Mike Hammer

Dave Rodgers can also churn out some incredible SAW style songs!
ABeatC= I Can Be Your Dee Jay-Mega NRG Man
NRG Boys- Heart & Body(wicked Vocals)

If we are talking Michael Prince, It sounds original enuff..and very DOA. Also listen to Divine-"You Think You're A Man"

I should have written "that song is far from hi-nrg".
I think we called "Touch Me" just Rock at that time. I wasn't conscious of
categorising music.

Really, so it's not that common or popular? Well, I think it still might be a possibility since it seems DJ Shu loves the song a lot, since he samples it quite a number of times... off the top of my head. At the end of I Wanna Dance in SEB 140 and in between Dancing In The Starlight and In The Flame Of Fire in Best 2002.

EXACTLY. I was seeing it being an Oda cover.

True, from his responses it gave off the vibe that he was forced to do that song :\ which is kind of a shame cause I like it (though I think it would've been better with Sonia alone, Nuage kinda ruins it with her accent).
